Chapter 243: Matthew's True Identity
Chapter 243: Matthew's True Identity
Matthew reached out and gently tucked a stray lock of hair behind Elizabeth's ear, his movements smooth and effortless.
With so many people watching, Elizabeth suddenly felt a bit shy and quickly ducked into the car. "Let's go."
Matthew chuckled, loving how Elizabeth looked when she was embarrassed.
They headed straight to a nearby high-end home design center. As soon as Elizabeth walked in, she noticed several well-known domestic and international home decor stores.
Seeing Matthew's impeccable, custom-tailored suit, a store attendant immediately approached them. "Hello, sir, madam, this is our latest furniture catalog. Feel free to take a look and see if anything catches your eye."
Elizabeth's eyes lit up as she pointed to a stylish sofa set. "Alice would love this."
Matthew smiled, "Let's go check it out."
With no budget constraints, Elizabeth quickly placed an order for anything she liked.
Matthew watched her busying herself with a smile, already imagining her decorating their new home.
The store became lively, with many sales associates coming over to assist them, while those from other stores could only look on enviously.
Just then, a Mercedes pulled up outside. Emily stepped out, smiling at the driver. "You can wait for me in the parking lot."
She had recently moved into the Ramirez Villa, and today Colt had arranged for a driver to take her to pick out furniture for her room. Although her room was one of the smaller ones in the villa, it was still much larger than her previous accommodations.
Living with the Ramirez family, she was quite satisfied with her current situation.
However, as soon as Emily entered the mall, she spotted Elizabeth and Matthew surrounded by a group of sales associates. For a moment, she doubted her eyes, but quickly found a place to hide.
From her hidden vantage point, Emily watched them intently, gripping her phone so tightly her nails nearly pierced the screen.
Elizabeth was supposed to be in Skyhaven City, managing two major companies and being the center of attention. Why was she suddenly in Silvermist City? And that Matthew was here too.
What a relentless pest!
But then, Emily's lips curled into a smile as she remembered they were in Silvermist City, not Elizabeth's territory. Colt had significant influence here, and dealing with Elizabeth would be a trivial matter for him.
Elizabeth had walked right into her trap, and Emily could seize this opportunity to get rid of her once and for all!
Her gaze fell on Matthew's tall, strong figure, and she stared greedily at his muscular frame. Once Elizabeth was out of the picture, she would claim Matthew for herself and find out just how good he was in bed, to make Elizabeth so obsessed that she brought him to Silvermist City.
Emily didn't approach Elizabeth. Instead, she turned and walked into another store.
As she entered, she hadn't even pulled out the card Colt had given her when she overheard the sales associates whispering enviously, their eyes fixed on the store across the way.
"That woman is so lucky. Matthew from the Moore family brought her here to look at furniture. Do you think they're planning to decorate a new home?"
"The Moore family doesn't need political marriages. They must be getting married for real. I'm so jealous."
"Yeah, she's really pretty. She hit the jackpot, while we still have to work here."
Emily caught the key information, her hands trembling as she grabbed one of the sales associates. "What do you mean? Is Matthew from the Moore family?"
Emily knew about the Moore family. When Lily had hooked up with someone from the Moore family, she had been insanely jealous. The Moore family was the top elite in Silvermist City, even more prestigious than the Ramirez family.
The sales associate looked at Emily and answered truthfully. "The gentleman across the way is Matthew, the heir to the Moore family. He's the current CEO of Obsidian Group, worth billions of dollars..."
Emily couldn't hear the rest. Her ears buzzed, her mind reeling from the revelation of Matthew's true identity.
How could this be? Emily had always thought Matthew was just a lover, a poor guy who had gotten lucky by hooking up with Elizabeth. He had always kept a low profile, never appearing in public, and there was hardly any news about him.
Even if she had suspected Matthew's identity before, Emily never dared to imagine he was the heir to the Moore family, an even more powerful figure than Lily's former fiancé!
The Moore family was a powerhouse. If Elizabeth married Matthew, she would have access to billions of dollars and immense power.
Emily had no way to compete with that. Even the Ramirez family might not be able to challenge the Moore family.
Moreover, Colt hadn't publicly acknowledged her as his daughter yet, and he wouldn't risk offending the Moore family for her.
Emily's limbs suddenly felt weak, and she barely managed to stay upright by leaning against a display case. Her face had turned pale, and when she looked up, she saw her reflection in a mirror.
The distorted image stared back at her, and Emily's carefully applied makeup couldn't hide her feelings of resentment and jealousy.
Why did Elizabeth get everything she dreamed of so easily? Even the men she randomly encountered were the heir to the Moore family.
But, Emily had to settle for someone like Jeremy, and even after being recognized by the Ramirez family, she was still under Elizabeth's shadow.
Her jealousy was overwhelming, and she couldn't help but hate Elizabeth.
Emily no longer had the heart to shop for furniture. She left the store in a hurry, leaning against the wall for support as she fled.
At that moment, she was even a little afraid of being discovered by Elizabeth.
What if Elizabeth found out she was living comfortably in the Ramirez Manor and had Matthew pressure Colt? She couldn't afford to be abandoned by Colt.
Only Emily knew the depth of her despair.
After Emily left the mall, Elizabeth finally looked away from the mirror, a smile playing on her lips.
'What a coincidence, Emily. We meet again.'
