Chapter 24

Jason Stokes:

Carmella was pacing up and down the sitting room while Lexi Ryan was going through her phone. She didn’t seem bothered about what was happening.

I got out of my seat when I heard a car.

"They are here" I said quietly Carmella hugged herself tightly and sighed heavily, she was anxious. I walked to her and patted her slightly. "Everything is under control"

"I hope so" she sighed I went to the window and saw dad walking angrily to the door with mom who was running after him "Let's listen to what he has to say," mom said anxiously.

"No!" Dad barked, "Not this time around! He went over the boundary."

"But our granddaughter is involved."

"Stokes Enterprise is at risk too!"

"Adrian!"

"ARIANA!" Dad barked and stopped walking instantly. He turned around and looked into mom's eyes, he wasn't having it this time around. "Ariana don't provoke me."

Mom became speechless. Dad turned around and started walking toward the door angrily "Casper is here" I said to Carmella when I saw my Lamborghini. He packed it behind dad's car. He got out of the car, opened the backdoor and picked up Carolyn. Lexi also came out of the other door with Maxwell in her hand.

"Dad" Casper called, and dad once again stopped walking and turned around to look at Casper.

"Don't you ever call me that again! It's over tonight! Father-son relationship is over!"

"Let me explain"

"Adrian give him a chance" mom said to dad Dad ignored both mom and Casper and started walking toward the building. Mom ran after him.

Dad opened the door and stopped on his track when he saw who was standing there "Adri..." Mom was saying but trailed off when she saw me "Ja...Jason" mom called.

Dad and mom instantly turned their heads around, almost breaking their necks in the process. They looked at the Jason that was walking toward them with Lexi by his side and then turned back their heads to look at the Jason that was standing inside their sitting room with two other strangers.

"Who are you?" Dad asked me "I'm Jason" I replied "I'm not in the mood for shit. Tell me who you are and what you're doing inside my home before I call the police on you"

"I just told you who I am dad, I'm Jason. Come inside, let us explain"

Mom and dad looked between I and Casper three more times before stepping inside the house Casper and Lexi also stepped inside the house and I closed the door.

"Who is Jason and who is the imposter?" Dad asked when all of us sat down.

"I'm Jason," I replied, "and this is Casper, my brother."

"Jason, what are you saying?" Mom asked in a low voice.

"What I'm saying is that this is Casper, my twin brother."

"Jason," mom gasped, and dad readjusted his sitting position.

"Mom, let me explain. What the doctor told you about Casper was a lie. He was alive. Everything was planned months before you gave birth to us. The sonographer, the doctor, the nurse planned it."

"My poor baby..." Mom started sobbing.

"The nurse took Casper and ran out of the country."

"THEY ARE ALL GOING TO ROT IN JAIL," dad growled.

"Exactly what I said when I found out about him. We can't do anything to them."

"I WILL DO EVERYTHING! I'M ADRIAN STOKES, ONE OF THE RICHEST MEN ON EARTH!" Dad vouched.

"Dad, you can't because they are all dead."

Upon hearing this, dad got out of his seat angrily and started cussing at the sonographer, the doctor and the nurse "My poor baby" mom sobbed, got out of her seat and started walking toward Casper who was seating beside Lexi Ryan. Casper also got up and they hugged each other "My poor baby...I'm sorry for not being there for you. I'm sorry for believing those wicked people...I'm sorry..."

"It's not your fault...mom. Not your fault" Casper said Both were like that for almost five minutes; mom being sorry for everything and Casper telling her that it wasn't her fault.

When they finally separated, mom turned back and looked at me "Since when have you known about him?" She asked "For two weeks."

"And you kept it away from me?"

"Because he deserves a birthday party" I replied with a smile "Adrian, I can't tell my babies apart" mom said to dad as tears rolled down her cheeks "They are both handsome"

Dad said nothing but walked to where Casper was standing and hugged him while mom faced Lexi Ryan and said "And this is my beautiful wife"

"No" Casper replied instantly "This is Lexi Ryan, my best friend. That is my wife" he pointed at Carmella who was seated alone on a couch with Carolyn on her lap "and Carolyn, our baby"

Lexi Ryan dropped her phone, got out of her seat and hugged mom tightly "It's nice to meet you ma'am" she said "Nice to meet you too" mom said back to her "Thanks for being there for my poor baby"

"With all pleasure"

Mom released her and walked to where Carmella was "My sweet wife" mom said to Carmella as she hugged her "Welcome home"

"Thank you, ma’am," Carmella replied with a lovely smile on her face After releasing Carmella, mom picked up Carolyn, her granddaughter and welcomed her to the family One hour later, I walked to where Casper sat and handed him a bunch of keys.

"Happy birthday twin brother" I said to him

Casper checked the bunch of keys and slowly raised up his head "For me?"

"Yes, for you. It's your house key."

He got out his seat and hugged me. "Jason."

"You deserve more."

"I deserve noth—"

"You’re a Stokes."
