Chapter 15

Casper Hart:

Jason walked in with my daughter in his hand and Lexi followed him. Lexi stopped walking when she got to where I was standing and hugged me "It's nice to meet you" she said but I was speechless Carmmy who was still in shock was still standing where she was

"Good evening Carmella" Jason said as he and his wife sat on a couch while I walked to the door to lock it "Good evening" Carmmy said to them before walking to where I was standing "Have your seats" Jason said while gesturing to the couch that was facing the one that they were sitting on "Why are you standing?"

I and Carmmy sat down and faced them. Even though this wasn't the first time that I would be seeing Jason in real life, I still felt somehow.

Jason adjusted Carolyn that was sitting on his lap and looked at me "Casper" he called softly but with a voice that was full of money and confidence.

I looked into his grey eyes and then looked at his face. Even though we looked identical, we were still different. He was extremely rich, popular, his skin was smoother, his haircut better and his outfit was one of the most expensive if not the most expensive "Jason" I said back and even with all our differences, this was the first time that I would say his name out without being mad at him. Carmmy moved closer to me and put her hand on mine "Do you think that I will leave you out here if I know about you?" He asked with a serious face "Do you think that I will attack you if I know of your existence?"

He just said my mind out. I've met him on different occasions, but I was scared of exposing myself to him. What if he considered me a threat?

"No" he replied his own question "I will never do that to you because you're my brother. We're family. You're my brother, my twin brother to be precise. I've always wanted siblings. When I was a kid, I wanted someone that I could talk to. I wanted someone that I could play with because during those times, my parents traveled a lot...leaving me with the nanny.

And now, you showed up and you want me dead" he shrugged "I'm not happy about that"

Carmmy held my hand tighter, and I sighed "I'm sorry" I said "I thought you would attack me. I wasn't happy with the idea either, but I didn't have a better idea. Joanna ruined my life. I'm nothing beside you. I was born poor. Raised poor and still poor. I'm nothing and that makes me to be jealous of you"

Jason handed Carolyn to his wife and walked majestically to where I was sitting. He stretched out his hand and I grabbed it. I got up and he hugged me "Stop saying that. You're something. You are a Stokes and Stokes are billionaires. Our parents still don't know about you yet and I'm going to make your introduction an unforgettable one"

This time around, I couldn't stop myself from crying. I started crying onto his shoulder and he started patting me on my back until I could control myself.

Someone knocked on the door and we separated

"Are you expecting someone?" He asked me as he handed me his handkerchief. I blew my nose inside the handkerchief before replying "No"

I walked to the door and opened it. Lexi Ryan stepped in and stopped on her track when she saw the man that was standing in the middle of the room "Hey Lexi" Jason said with a broad smile on his face "Nice meeting you again"

"What is going on here?" Lexi whispered to me but everyone in the room heard her "He isn't a bad person" I replied her "Really?"

"Yes"

"So, is this like eh...a family reunion?"

"Maybe—" I was saying but Jason cut me off and said, "Yes."

I looked into his grey eyes when he replied, and he met my identical grey eyes and I started crying again. He considered me his family.

"Okay nice meeting you Mr. and Mrs. Stokes," Lexi Ryan said.

"Nice meeting you too" they chorused, and Jason walked back to his seat. Lexi Ryan walked to the last couch and sat down on it while smiling at Carolyn, who was jumping up on Lexi Stokes’ lap.

"Won't you offer us something? The last time we ate was this morning," Jason said.

"We…don't have…expensive..." Carmmy started saying.

"We're okay with anything," Jason said.

Carmmy looked into my eyes and I nodded "The only thing we have is leftover pizza," she said.

"We're okay with it," Jason replied.

Carmmy got up and started walking out of the room.

"Can I join you?" Lexi Stokes asked her.

Carmmy stopped walking and looked at Lexi Stokes "Yes"

Lexi Stokes got up with Carolyn in her hand and Lexi Ryan also joined them.

"This is crazy" Jason said when they were gone "It is" I replied "So, what do you do for a living?"

I looked at my foot when I heard this and sighed "Anything" I replied "I and Carmmy dropped out of school when I impregnated her. There was no money that I could spend on my schooling and her at the same time. So, I chose one. I chose her because she is my everything"

"I'm so sorry for your pains"

"Thank you"

"So, what is your plan now? Are you still going to hate me or forget about the past and move on?" He asked "I think I will choose the latter"

"And that is going to start with you moving into my house tonight"

"What!?"

"Yes. I can't leave my brother out here. It's dangerous"

"But..."

"Are you coming or not?"

"I will need to ask Carmmy first"

"Okay" he nodded in understanding, got out of his seat and came to sit next to me "mom is going to freak out when she sees you"

"What if she doesn't like me?" I asked quietly "Of course, she will. I know mom will. Welcome back to the family" he said and threw his hand around me "Oh! Sorry" I heard Carmmy said
