Chapter 301 Has James Ever Taught You?

Chapter 301 Has James Ever Taught You?

Caspian held Gloria's hand. "Nothing like that. It's the dead of winter, everything's icy everywhere. He might have a death wish but I want to stay alive - I'm not going to be crazy with him. Why are your hands so cold?"

Not just her hands, but her back too.

She couldn't take off her coat in front of James. The room had plenty of heating, and her back was covered in sweat.

With the huge temperature difference between indoors and outdoors, once the cold wind hit her, Gloria's back now felt completely chilled.

Caspian placed her hand in his palm. "Let's go back to the room and talk. By the way, where's James?"

Only then did Gloria remember James. She turned to look back and saw the tall figure under the tree, a red glow flickering at his fingertips.

James said flatly, "You two go ahead. I'll wait for the smoke smell to clear."

He was giving himself an out. Gloria surely had a lot to say to Caspian right now.

Although he'd decided to let go, his body still retained the instinct of loving her. Seeing the two of them being intimate was killing him.

Watching them enter the room, John got out of the car, walked over to him and sighed. "Mr. Williams, why put yourself through this?"

"I brought it on myself." James smiled bitterly. "Tell me, what happened? Did they race?"

"No."

John said, "You had me get people to wreck the places Milo runs, sabotaging his father's negotiation plans. He got called away by a phone call, but..."

James looked at him coldly. "What? Speak clearly."

"Milo's famously dangerous. You provoked him on purpose - I'm afraid it won't be good for you later. Plus I heard them agree to meet another day. This isn't over. Mr. Caspian Rivers is only safe for now."

James took a deep drag on his cigarette. "You think if I don't provoke him, I can avoid him? If he wants to harm Gloria, I'll have to face him sooner or later. Besides, in that situation just now, I couldn't just watch him walk into danger. We'll figure something out another day. At least he's safe today."

This was the only thing he could do for Caspian now.

He happened to learn about Milo's father's movements from a friend his grandfather introduced him to. James had no other choice.

After all, what he knew about Milo came from others. He could only take a gamble.

Fortunately, he won the bet.

John looked at the light that was turned on in the room and lowered his voice. "Mr. Williams, I sent you the location. If you hadn't interfered, if Mr. Caspian Rivers had an accident during the race, you and Ms. Mitchell would have a chance..."

James stubbed out his cigarette. "He's my own brother. I won't do that to him. Besides, he taught me that loving someone isn't about getting them through schemes and tricks. If Gloria is happier with him, I'm willing to let them be together. Don't say things like that again."

"Yes, my mistake." John lowered his head.

James was only wearing a thin sweater. John said with concern, "It's cold outside. Whatever you need to say can wait till tomorrow. Or you could wait in the room - it's the same thing. Your health isn't good."

James shook his head. "I'll wait till he's done, then talk to him about Milo."

By "done," he meant Caspian comforting Gloria.

Gloria had been tense all evening. The first thing she did was pull Caspian back to the room.

Before Caspian could even react, Gloria started taking off his clothes.

"Gloria, don't rush, you're still pregnant."

Gloria didn't care about that. Only after confirming his body didn't have any new wounds did she breathe a sigh of relief.

Then her gaze fell to his lower body.

Caspian blushed under her gaze and said, , "Everything's fine down there."

Gloria didn't believe him. Last time he got beaten up so badly, yet he still said goodnight like nothing happened.

She said with a stern face, "Either you take them off yourself, or I'll do it for you."

Caspian smiled helplessly. His Gloria was so adorable.

She was crying downstairs just moments ago, her nose and eyes still red, and now the next second she was telling him to undress.

Feeling her worry and concern for him, Caspian's heart felt as sweet as if it had been soaked in honey.

Although he'd been quietly giving for many years without ever expecting anything in return.

But now that he could feel Gloria's love, how could he not be happy?

Earlier he'd even thought about giving Gloria back to James.

He thought he could never replace James's place in Gloria's heart.

Now it seemed he really deserved to die.

How could he think of Gloria that way?

Caspian's gaze was burning. "You really want me to take them off?"

Gloria was dying of anxiety, afraid he was hurt somewhere. She had to see with her own eyes and check carefully to feel at ease.

Otherwise, with Caspian's serious personality, he probably wouldn't say anything for the rest of his life.

He'd done so many things for her before. If she hadn't run into Milo today, she would never have known.

Gloria said firmly, "Hurry up."

As she spoke, her face full of urgency, she reached for his belt.

Caspian grabbed her wrist. "Gloria, don't rush."

"How can I not rush? I..."

Before she could finish, Caspian pulled her into the bathroom, pressed her against the wall, and slipped his hand inside. "Why are you wearing so much at home? Isn't it hot?"

Realizing his intention, Gloria blushed. "No, I want to check if your body is hurt..."

Caspian pressed against her lips. "Okay, I'll let you check thoroughly in a bit, every inch. But right now I need to check on my Gloria..."

Caspian's gaze was affectionate and gentle, his eyes seeming to sparkle with countless stars. "I want to see just how much you love me."

"Caspian, you and Milo..."

Before Gloria could finish her question, he silenced her.

"Thinking about someone else while in my arms, Gloria, that makes me unhappy."

"But you haven't told me about you two..."

Caspian sealed her lips with his, his fingers wandering. "Honey, did James ever teach you that you need to focus during things like this?"
