Chapter 96 Sophia, Why Don't You Just Die?
Hayden opened his mouth, ready to argue, but Benjamin's sharp gaze made him back down.
The entire Stewart villa hall went dead silent; nobody even dared to breathe.
"Mr. Brown, I was planning to give your family some respect, but it looks like that's not necessary anymore. I'm here today to get justice for my wife."
Benjamin lowered his gaze and reached out to Sophia beside him.
Sophia looked up, surprised. "What?"
"Don't hide it, I know everything," Benjamin said, looking at her sympathetically.
Lately, Sophia had been glued to her computer, doing who-knows-what. Yesterday afternoon, when she saw a video online trashing her, she didn't react. Benjamin immediately figured Sophia had a plan.
Sophia didn't expect her actions to be discovered so easily, and her cheeks flushed with embarrassment. Slowly, she took out a USB drive from her pocket and handed it to Benjamin's large palm. A USB drive with a cartoon design landed in Benjamin's hand. He raised his eyebrows slightly and waved at Chase.
Chase quickly took the USB drive and turned to leave. Everyone watched Chase curiously, wondering what was going on. Soon, everyone's eyes widened in shock.
The screen, which should have been showing sweet photos of Isabella and Zander, suddenly lit up. An audio clip slowly filled the room, the voice sharp and full of intense hatred.
"Find some people to post online and spread this video. I want to ruin Sophia's reputation!"
"Sophia, that witch! Using the White family's power against me, she's asking for it! I managed to kick her out of the Brown family; I can make her a disgrace to everyone!"
"I'm satisfied with the edited video. The rest of the money has been transferred to your account."
The familiar voice in the audio stunned the guests. It was clearly Isabella's voice. But Isabella always spoke gently and had a kind persona in the entertainment industry. No one had ever seen this vicious side of her. Many couldn't believe their ears. They couldn't imagine that the gentle Isabella in front of them was the same person as the one in the audio.
Isabella panicked upon hearing the audio. Seeing the guests' shocked expressions, her heart sank. She thought she had done everything discreetly; how did Sophia find evidence? If this went public, her reputation would be destroyed.
No! It can't happen!
Isabella screamed and rushed to Chase, trying to shut down the computer. However, the difference in strength between men and women was vast. Chase, tall and strong, and trained, easily overpowered Isabella. Disgusted by the person who hurt Sophia, Chase pushed Isabella away and continued playing the audio.
After the audio, a payment record appeared, showing Isabella hiring trolls, totaling over fifty thousand dollars. The account on the payment record was unmistakably Isabella's.
Flynn had just come back from school and rushed to the party. Learning about how Sophia had been mistreated in the Brown family, Flynn's feelings towards his sister Isabella became complicated. Even though they weren't related by blood, he had watched Isabella grow up. His bond with Isabella was something Sophia couldn't match. But after realizing he had misunderstood Sophia, Flynn felt immense guilt. He hadn't planned to come today, but Olivia's numerous calls forced him to attend with a heavy heart.
As soon as he stepped into the Stewart villa, Flynn sensed something was off. He noticed everyone silently watching the large screen in the hall. At that moment, the second audio clip began playing.
Isabella's voice emerged, and Flynn froze.
"Sophia, Mom and Dad, and our brothers are all on my side. You must feel terrible, right? I was the one with them during the years you were missing. It's only natural they favor me."
Hayden and Olivia, hearing this, felt more satisfied with Isabella. They felt their investment in raising her had paid off. Even Flynn, who hadn't heard the first audio clip, relaxed a bit.
But before they could rejoice, the next words shocked them.
"Sophia, so what if you're the Brown family's biological daughter? Your parents and brothers are all mine now. If I say you bullied me, they'll kick you out of the house."
"Disappeared for years, and you're still alive. Sophia, why don't you just die? Even if you return to the Brown family, I can still kick you out!"
Isabella's voice in the audio was sharp and filled with venom. Flynn's body stiffened, his eyes wide in disbelief. Were these words really from Isabella?
How was it possible?
Isabella's personality had always been gentle. Whenever she faced any grievance, she would act cute and complain to their parents and brothers. How could such a sweet girl say such vicious things?
Flynn shook his head in disbelief and quickly approached Isabella.
"Isabella, did you really say those things?" he questioned, unable to believe it.
Isabella was overwhelmed with fear. Facing Flynn's question, her eyes flickered, and she quickly shook her head.
"No, you have to believe me... I never said those things. It must be Sophia framing me!"
Isabella rushed towards Sophia, trying to choke her. But Benjamin reacted quickly and kicked her away. Isabella, weak and unprepared, flew through the air and crashed to the ground, writhing in pain.
Benjamin glanced at Isabella coldly, his eyes filled with disgust.
"Are you hurt?" Benjamin asked, looking down at Sophia with concern.
Sophia smiled and shook her head. "I'm fine; she didn't touch me."
Seeing the worry in Benjamin's eyes, a warm feeling spread through Sophia's heart. Benjamin looked so cool kicking Isabella!
Sophia felt she had found a treasure. She smiled and hugged Benjamin's strong waist tightly. Benjamin had no idea that his image in Sophia's mind had grown even taller.
