Chapter 88 Your Whole Family is Crazy

Chapter 89 Sign the Papers Early

As Benjamin walked past Amelia, he said coldly, "I remember Magnus gave you the divorce papers a long time ago."

"What are you talking about?" Amelia looked at Benjamin in shock, her heart filled with unease.

"This family's already been torn apart once because of you. If you don't calm down, you should sign those papers sooner rather than later."

Seventeen years ago, after Benjamin was found following his kidnapping, Magnus had already drafted the divorce papers. But Amelia had refused to sign them. In a fit of anger, Magnus moved out and never came back. Over the years, Preston had pitied Amelia and didn't dare to bring up the divorce again.

Amelia never expected Benjamin to say such things. Looking into Benjamin's cold and deep eyes, she couldn't help but take a step back. Her body swayed slightly, nearly falling to the ground. Alaric quickly reached out to support her.

Watching Benjamin's ruthless departure, Amelia's nose tingled, and tears welled up uncontrollably. "Alaric, did you hear that? Benjamin really wants me gone!"

Alaric sighed helplessly. "Mom, if you keep causing trouble, I won't be able to help you anymore."

Amelia shook her head in disbelief. "Alaric, how can you side with them too?"

"Mom, haven't you realized yet? Sophia is Benjamin's bottom line. No one can mess with her."

Alaric felt Amelia was beyond saving. Sophia was the White family's benefactor. For that reason alone, Amelia shouldn't have humiliated or hurt her.

Amelia shook her head bitterly, repeating like a madwoman, "Even you won't stand by me..."

Upstairs, Benjamin gently placed Sophia on the soft bed. "Get some sleep, I'll stay here with you."

Sophia held onto Benjamin's hand and slowly fell asleep. She was truly exhausted. After leaving the lab each day, she felt like a fish out of water, desperately needing rest. The confrontation with Amelia and Celestia had pushed her to her limit.

Once Sophia was asleep, Benjamin leaned down and kissed her forehead gently. His deep eyes were filled with guilt. He had promised that as long as he was around, no one would hurt her. But today, if Sophia hadn't dodged in time, that water cup would have hit her...

Benjamin couldn't bear to think any further. Just the thought of what could have happened made his heart tighten.

Sophia didn't expect to see Benjamin still sitting by the bed when she opened her eyes. He was leaning against the headboard, intently focused on his computer screen, one hand tightly holding hers while the other flew across the keyboard.

Sophia stared at Benjamin's profile, her drowsiness gradually fading. Her gaze was so intense that Benjamin turned his head, a slight smile playing on his lips. "You're awake?"

"Yeah."

"Want something to eat?"

"Definitely!"

Benjamin placed the computer on the bedside table and prepared to get up, but Sophia held his hand tightly, refusing to let go. "Be good, I'll go to the kitchen and get you something to eat. I'll be right back," Benjamin coaxed softly.

"Hurry back," Sophia pouted, her eyes full of reluctance. Seeing her so dependent, Benjamin felt his heart melt.

"Okay."

After getting his promise, Sophia let go of his hand. She curled up under the covers, still not fully awake. Benjamin's heart felt like it had turned to mush.

Later, after dinner, Sophia was full of energy. She stretched lazily and then leaned against Benjamin to start a game. She seemed relaxed, not mentioning Celestia or Amelia at all, as if the incident had never happened.

Benjamin's eyes darkened with guilt. "Sophia, if they ever dare to hurt you again, you can fight back. Don't hold back."

Sophia paused, looking up in surprise. "Really?"

"Absolutely."

"Aren't you afraid I'll actually hurt them?"

Under the light, Sophia's skin was delicate, her face soft and radiant, without a hint of aggression. But her words were shocking. Benjamin's hand paused on the keyboard, and he chuckled softly. "I know you have the ability, but I trust your judgment."

Benjamin's confident tone pleased Sophia. She wrapped her arms around Benjamin's neck and planted a light kiss on his lips. "If they don't provoke me, I won't make the first move."

"Good. If they dare to touch you again, I won't let them off either."

"They better not!"

Sophia snorted softly and started another game. Listening to the continuous game sounds, Benjamin couldn't help but smile. Before meeting Sophia, Benjamin had always been alone. His world was eerily quiet, devoid of any signs of life. But since Sophia entered his life, everything changed, filling his world with new colors.

After finishing his work, Benjamin closed the laptop. He turned his head to look at Sophia, who was engrossed in her game. She was leaning against the headboard, her head slightly bowed. Her eyes were fixed on the phone screen, her long hair cascading over her shoulders, partially obscuring her delicate profile. Her expression was calm, without a trace of panic or anxiety, but her hands moved decisively and ruthlessly.

Benjamin watched her, gradually becoming entranced. After finishing a game, Sophia raised her head in satisfaction and stretched her neck. When she turned, she met Benjamin's intense gaze. His deep eyes were filled with an unreadable light, staring straight at her, lost in thought.

Sophia blinked for a second, then waved her hand in front of Benjamin's eyes. "Honey, what are you looking at?"

"You," Benjamin replied without thinking. As soon as the words left his mouth, he snapped back to reality. Meeting Sophia's eyes, a faint blush spread under Benjamin's hair. He cleared his throat, his lips parting slightly as if to explain, but before he could speak, Sophia leaned closer, staring at him.

"Honey, do you think I'm pretty?"

Sophia looked at Benjamin with anticipation, her lips slightly pursed like a cherry, shy and red.

"Yes, you're beautiful," Benjamin answered truthfully. He wasn't lying; Sophia was the most beautiful and exquisite girl he had ever seen. Her delicate face blushed faintly, even her eyes tinged with a hint of red. Despite her innocent and charming appearance, she managed to blend allure and elegance perfectly.

"Do you like me?" Sophia moved her face closer, her clear, watery eyes fixed on Benjamin, full of hope.
