Chapter 52 Slandered
Benjamin's cool lips gently brushed against Sophia's soft cheek.
If Sophia had been awake, she would've noticed those soft, cool lips trembling just a bit.
Benjamin's deep voice filled the large bedroom, carrying a mysterious allure.
"Sophia, maybe I've always been selfish."
"From the moment you fell into my arms, I never thought about letting go."
He could give her time to grow up, and he could wait for her to understand what love was.
But as long as he lived, he wouldn't leave Sophia with any other choice.
Benjamin leaned over, his eyes fixed on the sleeping Sophia, filled with intense possessiveness.
When Sophia woke up, it was already midnight.
The space beside her was empty and cold.
Sophia rubbed her eyes and got out of bed, casually scanning the room. Her gaze suddenly froze.
On the nightstand, which usually only held a single lamp, there were now three exquisite boxes.
Sophia quickly opened the boxes.
Inside were a phone, a tablet, and a laptop.
All of them were the latest models from the White Group, representing the highest level of technology in the country.
Sophia eagerly turned on the phone and flipped through it, immediately squealing with excitement.
It was the same model as Benjamin's.
It had been specially encrypted by the White Group's tech department.
The only difference was the color.
Benjamin's phone was black, while hers was a soft lavender, with a youthful vibe.
The phone's contacts contained only one number: Benjamin's.
It was labeled "Honey ."
Sophia suppressed her excitement, her small feet swinging restlessly, expressing her inner joy.
She covered her mouth and giggled, silently cursing "show-off" in her heart, then happily downloaded some game apps on her new phone.
As soon as she logged into the game, numerous unread messages popped up.
[Boss, where have you been? You've been offline for so long. Did something happen?]
[Boss, I got beaten badly again. Get online and help me out!]
[Day one without the boss, I miss her. Day two without the boss, I miss her. Day three without the boss.]
Sophia opened each message and laughed helplessly.
This person was a gaming buddy she had met online.
His username was "Siscon," and he always talked about his sister.
Every time he mentioned his sister, it reminded Sophia of Matthew.
At that moment, her phone buzzed again.
It was a message from "Siscon."
Siscon: [Boss, you're finally online. If you stayed offline any longer, I was going to call the cops!]
Sophia lay on the bed, her small feet swinging lazily, her fingers tapping quickly on the screen.
CC: [Had some family stuff, but it's all good now.]
Siscon: [Finally! Boss, if you stayed offline any longer, your record would have been broken!]
Sophia frowned. Her record had held the top spot for three months. Had it been broken already?
She quickly opened the leaderboard and was stunned.
Wasn't this the account she had registered using Benjamin's phone number?
So, she had beaten her own record?
Sophia chuckled softly and quickly joined the team.
After the game, a young boy's excited voice came through the phone.
"That was awesome! It's been so long since I had such a great game! Boss, I worship you!"
Sophia smiled, "That was a walk in the park."
These games were hardly challenging for her.
Her senior, Gregory Lopez, was the most famous e-sports player in the country.
Sophia had been "forced" to be Gregory's training partner since she was young.
Over time, her gaming skills had naturally improved.
Life on the mountain was boring. Besides reading and making medicine, gaming was her only pastime.
At Stellar University's dorms, a boy, about 22 years old, lay on his bed, hanging off the edge in excitement.
Below, Jeremy looked up with a face full of resentment, "Flynn Brown, what are you doing?"
Flynn smiled at Jeremy, "Sorry, I got too excited and lost control. The gaming boss I told you about finally came online today! I had such a smooth game!"
Jeremy rolled his eyes. "That's because someone else carried you."
Flynn retorted, "A win is a win! You're just jealous!"
Jeremy, exasperated, lay back down on his bed.
Flynn quickly turned back to his phone, "Boss, you're amazing. You totally dominated. I really want to see what you look like."
At the White Manor, Sophia didn't respond, just smiled.
Flynn continued, "I mean it. Boss, let's exchange contact info. When you disappeared, I had no way to find you. How about I add you on Facebook?"
Sophia hesitated, "No, my husband said there are too many bad people out there, and I shouldn't exchange contact info with strangers."
Flynn was taken aback, "We're not strangers... wait, did you say husband? You're married?"
Flynn jumped up in shock.
He had heard Sophia's voice before; it was soft and delicate, clearly that of someone underage.
He thought he had misheard, but Sophia casually replied, "Just got married a few days ago."
Flynn was stunned, his expression heavy. He didn't know whether to feel more disappointed or angry.
He suddenly remembered Olivia's call yesterday, saying that his recently returned sister had eloped.
Since Sophia had been brought back home, the previously peaceful household had turned into chaos.
His beloved Isabella had been enduring silently, bullied by Sophia but not daring to speak up.
His parents insisted on bringing Sophia back, saying the Brown family bloodline couldn't be left outside.
So, Flynn didn't like Sophia one bit.
To him, Isabella was his only sister.
A few weeks ago, before returning to school, Flynn had sternly warned Sophia not to bully Isabella again.
Who would have thought...
In just a few days, she had eloped!
Flynn looked at his phone, treating his online friend as a confidant, sharing all these troubles with this stranger he trusted.
He had hoped for some comfort, but the next moment, a cold voice came through the phone.
Even through the screen, Flynn could feel the intense killing intent.
"Eloped? Did your mom say that herself?" Sophia was amused by Flynn's words.
No wonder she found "Siscon"'s voice familiar. It turned out to be Flynn.
Her biological brother.
The Brown family had three sons.
The eldest, Heath Brown, had founded the Novalume Group at a young age, successful and accomplished.
