Chapter 407 A Bride Falls from the Sky
However, thinking about his other purpose for coming here today, Cillian immediately softened his tone.
"Benjamin, I really came specifically to see you. I heard you were seriously injured?"
"I'm alright. With Sophia here, even the worst injuries will heal."
Benjamin turned his head to look at Sophia, a hint of smile coloring his pupils.
What did he do wrong? Why does he have to watch them show off their love?
Why punish him like this?
Sophia grabbed Benjamin's hand and asked Cillian, "Cillian, how many days are you staying this time?"
As one of the country's top male celebrities, Cillian had an extremely packed schedule.
During the two years when Benjamin was away, he had turned down most of his work to stay home and keep Preston company.
Now that Benjamin was back, he had thrown himself back into work.
Although many people questioned his achievements and abilities, he still loved his job.
This was also what Sophia admired most about him.
Besides, maintaining a sense of innocence in the entertainment industry's cesspool was quite rare.
So after Cillian returned to work, she had instructed his agent to give him the maximum degree of freedom.
At the company, he had more choices than other artists.
If he didn't want to take certain gigs, he could refuse them.
Even when other artists were doing bundled marketing, he could consistently refuse to create romantic rumors with other actresses.
Recently, he had taken on another role as the male lead in a youth campus romance series.
Although the script was for a web series, it was really good.
No melodramatic pain literature, just innocent crushes and beauty.
But Cillian just couldn't get into the right mindset while filming.
Although many marketing accounts kept fabricating his romantic history, only those close to him knew he had never been in a relationship.
He was still a pure, innocent boy.
The reason he came back this time was first, to check on Benjamin after hearing he was injured, and second, to learn from him.
After all, among the three brothers, only Benjamin was married, and he flaunted his relationship in front of them every day.
He didn't treat them like outsiders at all!
Cillian snapped back to reality and replied, "I took three days off. The production is still filming, so I asked the director to adjust the schedule for me."
Benjamin's expression was calm. "I'm fine. I'll be discharged in a few days. No need to worry."
"Okay."
He wasn't worried at all.
He had witnessed Sophia's medical skills firsthand.
Sophia looked at him with relief, then stood up. " Cillian, you chat with your Benjamin. I need to check on the patient who just finished surgery."
Although the surgery was successful, she needed to monitor the patient's condition constantly.
"Okay, go ahead, Sophia. I'll take care of Benjamin."
Cillian patted his chest in assurance, wishing Sophia would leave quickly.
After all, the questions he wanted to ask Benjamin were too embarrassing.
Absolutely couldn't let a third person know!
Sophia looked at him with surprise but didn't ask further. After giving Benjamin a few reminders, she left the hospital room.
After she left, only Benjamin and Cillian, remained in the room.
Benjamin leaned against the headboard listlessly. With his wife gone, he became distracted.
As for Cillian, he kept silently organizing his words in his mind.
Several times he wanted to speak but stopped himself.
Even the constantly distracted Benjamin noticed something was off.
He frowned and asked, "Is there something else you came back for?"
Cillian opened his mouth but found it hard to say.
Benjamin stared at him for a moment, and seeing he still wouldn't speak, lost interest. "If there's nothing, leave quickly. Don't bother me and Sophia in the future."
Too much of an eyesore.
If he weren't here, he might have been able to hold Sophia a little longer.
Meeting Benjamin's disgusted gaze, Cillian felt his heart take ten thousand points of damage.
He secretly gritted his teeth and blurted out the question he'd been wanting to ask.
"Benjamin, what does it feel like when you're with Sophia?"
Benjamin looked at him in confusion.
"I mean... what does it feel like to like someone?"
Benjamin looked him up and down. "Do you like someone?"
"No! Absolutely not, how could that be!"
Cillian jumped up like a lion with its fur standing on end, frantically denying it.
When he came to his senses, he realized his reaction had been too intense.
His face flushed red, and he repeated, "No, absolutely not!"
Only this time, his tone was much weaker than before.
Benjamin's deep, dark eyes narrowed slightly, understanding the situation.
Cillian probably already had someone he was attracted to, just hadn't realized it himself yet.
But he didn't plan to point it out.
Cillian had never really suffered since childhood. Maybe going through this would help him grow.
"What exactly do you want to ask?"
Cillian knew his Benjamin had always been perceptive, so he stopped hiding and explained about the problems he encountered filming on set.
"Benjamin, the director said I'm completely hopeless at romantic scenes and told me to really get a feel for it."
"So your solution was to come find me?"
"You're the most experienced in our family! Tell me about the details of how you and Sophia interact."
Benjamin looked at him with a complicated expression.
Details and such... could he really tell him about those?
He cleared his throat and said seriously, "Actually, there's not much to say. Sophia and I have a meeting of souls."
Cillian became interested. "I heard Sophia was the one who made the first move?"
He'd heard from Preston that meeting Sophia was like a pie falling from the sky.
No wait, like a bride falling from the sky.
When Cillian asked this, Benjamin froze, then suddenly his brain sent a sharp pain.
The pain came out of nowhere, catching him completely off guard.
He couldn't help but gasp and clutch his head with both arms.
Fragmented scenes seemed to flash through his mind, like broken mirror pieces slowly connecting together.
But these images weren't continuous and couldn't be pieced together properly.
The fragment that just flashed through Benjamin's mind was of Sophia standing alone by the roadside.
Sophia 's figure was petite, her eyes red and swollen, as if she'd been crying. There was a bright red handprint on one side of her face.
When she saw him, her eyes sparkled with amazement.
"Benjamin, your wife is about to be homeless."
...
Seeing Benjamin's pale face as he clutched his head, Cillian panicked.
"Benjamin, are you okay?"
"I'll go get Sophia right now, wait for me!"
Cillian jumped up from his chair, wanting to find Sophia.
However, before his leg could take a step, his sleeve was grabbed by a hand with distinct knuckles.
He froze and turned to look at Benjamin.
"Benjamin?"
"Don't go."
Because he was enduring the pain, Benjamin had his teeth clenched.
Those two short words seemed to be squeezed out from between his teeth.
"Benjamin, tell me, where does it hurt?" Cillian moved closer to him, his eyes full of worry.
More than that, he felt regret.
He shouldn't have asked so many questions when Benjamin was injured.
