Chapter 285 Caring So Much About Another Man, Your Husband Will Be Jealous
"Be safe on the road." Alaric waved at Benjamin and Sophia, then walked over to Aurora.
"From the moment we met, I've always considered you my best mentor and friend. Why would you do this?"
His deep voice was slightly tense, his profound eyes staring straight at Aurora.
Aurora was dazed for a moment, her mind drifting back to the past.
When she was studying abroad, she accidentally joined that organization and was then assigned to get close to Alaric.
She had heard about Alaric's family background early on, but she couldn't see any trace of arrogance typical of wealthy heirs in him.
Actually, she had wavered before, but her family members were all controlled by them.
She had no choice.
Aurora slowly closed her eyes, not answering Alaric's question. "I have nothing to say. I did betray you all. Whether you want to call the police or remove me from the team, I have no objections."
"Even now, why are you still hiding things? Aurora, why won't you tell us? Who's the person behind all this?"
Hannah rushed over, her eyes red, filled with disbelief.
But no matter what she said, Aurora refused to reveal anything, clearly intent on continuing to protect that person.
Hannah looked at her, disappointment filling her eyes, unable to hold back her tears.
Steven walked up behind her, silently patting her back, pressing his lips together without saying a word.
After a long silence, Alaric suddenly took out his phone and made a call.
Soon, a group of men in black suits walked in and stopped in front of Alaric. "Mr. White."
"Take her away."
Hearing the order, several tall, burly men walked toward Aurora.
Aurora's heart immediately panicked, and she nervously stepped back several times. "What do you want? Don't come near me! Stay back!"
Hannah was also startled by the scene before her and instinctively took two steps back.
Steven quickly moved her behind him, his face alert.
In her nervousness, Hannah didn't notice how close she was to Steven at that moment.
Sensing something was wrong, Aurora began to struggle desperately. "Let go of me, I'm not going! Alaric, you can't do this to me, don't..."
She could tell that Alaric was truly angry this time.
Alaric had always presented himself as gentle and refined, polite and courteous, making people unconsciously forget that he was a man who didn't even care about the White family's inheritance rights.
For a brief moment, Aurora truly saw the commanding presence of someone in power on Alaric's face.
It made her feel involuntarily afraid.
Hannah felt sympathy and wanted to plead for her, but was scared back by one light glance from Alaric.
Meeting Alaric's cold, deep eyes, Hannah felt as if her throat was being gripped, unable to say anything.
She quickly hid behind Steven, patting her chest with lingering fear.
After Aurora was taken away, she asked quietly, "Alaric, where did you take Aurora?"
"To where she belongs."
Alaric narrowed his eyes slightly, bloodthirsty intent filling them.
As a member of the White family, Alaric had experienced countless schemes and betrayals since childhood, but when he learned it was Aurora, his heart still uncontrollably ached.
He had always considered Aurora his best friend, his most trusted mentor and senior.
From the moment they met, they had fought side by side, then returned home and founded this team together.
Why did it have to be her?
Why would she do this?
Alaric's hands clenched tightly into fists, his jaw tense, his expression dark and inscrutable.
Hannah instinctively sensed danger and secretly tugged at Steven's sleeve, whispering, "Do you think Alaric is traumatized?"
"Talk less." Steven interrupted Hannah and pulled her away quietly.
Alaric needed to be alone right now, undisturbed.
Their presence would only annoy him.
After they left, Alaric seemed to lose all his strength and slumped onto the sofa.
Alaric's deep eyes stared straight at the ceiling, filled with disbelief.
The surroundings were silent. Alaric could only hear his own breathing and heartbeat.
He narrowed his eyes, couldn't help but sigh, and fell into silence again.
He sat there the entire night. It wasn't until dawn that he slowly came back to himself.
That night, he thought about many things, from meeting Aurora to now, all the things they had experienced.
He thought it was meeting a fellow countryman abroad, but never expected that everything had been premeditated all along.
On the plane, Sophia leaned against Benjamin, her eyes full of worry. "Honey, do you think Alaric will be very sad? Being betrayed by the person you trust most must feel terrible."
Benjamin lowered his eyes to look at Sophia, his slender fingers gently pinching her slightly puffed cheek. "Don't worry, Alaric is much stronger than you think."
The men of the White family, even if their bones were shattered, still had to stand up.
Outsiders all said Alaric was gentle and refined, but only he knew that beneath that refined exterior hid an extremely cold heart.
"Instead of worrying about others, you should worry about your husband." Benjamin glanced at Sophia, the corners of his lips curving into a slight smile.
"You seem fine, don't you? What's there to worry about?" Sophia looked at Benjamin, puzzled, her gaze scanning him up and down.
Rosy complexion, high spirits—he couldn't be better.
"You're so concerned about another man, your husband will get jealous." Benjamin leaned close to Sophia's ear, murmuring softly.
When he spoke, he was very close, his warm breath falling entirely on Sophia's sensitive ear, hot and burning, mixed with Benjamin's unique masculine scent.
It seemed to transform into currents of electricity, flowing instantly from Sophia's ear through her entire body.
Sophia glared at him coquettishly, reaching out to press against his chest, stopping him from getting closer. "We're on a plane."
"So what? I'm being affectionate with my wife—who dares say anything?"
Benjamin's smile deepened. He quickly leaned in and planted a kiss on the corner of Sophia's lips.
Sophia was stunned by this sudden kiss and took a while to react.
She touched the corner of her lips where she'd been kissed, couldn't help but laugh softly, then turned her head to look at Benjamin beside her.
Benjamin, who had just been teasing her, was now sitting upright with a serious expression, looking completely proper—the complete opposite of moments ago.
She quietly glanced around, and seeing no one had noticed them, she moved over at lightning speed, ready to kiss him back.
