That's when Sherry hung up. Staring at her phone, Stella made a few lip movements as if to speak, but she felt so powerless. She didn't fear Liam would ask Sherry to marry him at this point.
Sherry had previously given him a number of obvious clues, by his style of doing things, but he feigned not to understand them and came up with a lot of reasons. It seems he was flirting with that woman and wanted to be with Sherry at the same time. He would most certainly not pop the question to Sherry in order to escape taking responsibility for her.
However, Stella was unsure about how to inform Sherry of Liam's infidelity. Thirty minutes later, Sherry seemed furious and wrote her a message as expected: I misguessed. He didn't just give me a bag and ask me to marry him.\]
Stella recalled that Liam was furious when he bought two bags at the store today. She furiously typed a few phrases, then quickly erased them. She said this over and over. Stella erased the words that she had just typed: {I believe they all look excellent.}
Sherry: \[Please come later as a bridesmaid. You are going to be the world's most gorgeous bridesmaid.\]
Stella texted, laughing: \[You stupid girl, you can't be a bridesmaid; I got married. }

Stella conversed with her. After some hesitation, she questioned, "My friend... Her friend's boyfriend cheated on her. She questioned me about how to break the news to her friend. Have you got any clever suggestions?\]
Winnie gave her a prompt response. \[Offer her a lot of clues, implying that she has been duped.\]
