Chapter 42 042
Chapter 42 042
Stella sensed that danger was coming and had to take a step back. Her back finally hit the chilly wall when she was unable to move any farther back. She came to when she heard the phrase "disgusted."
Calmly, she stated, "You misinterpreted. Horace and I are unrelated."
Clarence's lack of belief in her assertion was evident. With a somewhat icy voice, he gripped her chin with his hand, narrowing his dark eyes, and asked, "Then why are you taking folic acid, not to prepare for pregnancy?"
Stella couldn't say anything. When he saw her taking folic acid, she suddenly realized why he had reacted the way he had. She wanted to argue with him again and again because there was no law stating that folic acid was only to be taken by women getting ready to get pregnant. However, it was fortunate that he believed so, as it would prevent him from assuming she was expecting.
When Clarence noticed that she was remaining mute, he held her chin more firmly and asked, "How far has your connection with Horace developed? How often do the two of you have sex?”
Stella was furious and irritated, experiencing an unheard-of feeling of shame. "Do you think everyone is like you who hooks up with different ladies everywhere? We're simply buddies, Horace and me. No, you are to blame for it. If not, I might have dated him in the past and we might have had grown children."
The sneering Clarence said, "You really still think about him."
“ If I don't think about him, should I still think about you? Remember this, Mr. Conrad. You cannot control me, even if I want to do something with Horace—we are already divorced. I...mm!"
With a violent covering of her mouth, Clarence bowed his head and interrupted her speech. Stella tried to push him away with her raised hand, but he pinned her against the wall. She was forced to open her mouth as Clarence gently cupped her chin. Then he gave her an easy kiss.
Stella's eyes went red right away. Not only did this miserable man mistreat her during their marriage, but he also behaved so haughtily following their divorce. She was really tired of him.
Soon after Stella had fought so hard to get away from him, a rusty taste began to appear between their teeth and lips. Though his lips gradually withdrew from hers, Clarence's hand continued to hold hers. "Didn't I make you feel comfortable just now?" he remarked bluntly. “Why do you bite me so intensely?"
"If Mr. Conrad was doing such beastly things because you have been abstinent for too long and had too much energy, then I think you should go find another woman to vent your sexual desire," Stella said, maintaining control over her trembling body.
"I'm here to find you."
Stella inhaled deeply. She was perplexed as to how the miserable man could claim moral superiority when making such a statement. She was about to lose her temper with him. "Mr. Conrad, I hope you can control your bestial behavior," she said. “Since we are no longer married, I am not obligated to continue being your wife. If you repeat it, I may file a lawsuit against you."
"Don't mention the word 'divorce' in front of me," Clarence said with a sad scowl.
Stella said, "We have terminated the legal relationship established under the equal and voluntary consent of both of us."
Clarence couldn't express his feelings. "How come I didn't realize you have the gift of the gab before this?" he asked, using his thumb to mop away the blood that was an eyesore at the corner of her lips.
"That's because you didn't know me very well."
"Did our marriage cause you could not speak so eloquently?"
Stella couldn't say anything. She questioned whether the miserable man was insane. Just a moment ago, he was all terrible and fierce, but the next, he was making frigid jokes to her that had no sense of humor.
Clarence repeated himself before Stella could respond, saying, "Stella, someone said I like you."
Stella remained silent.
"Do you believe it?"
She said nothing at all.
"Even I find it hard to believe. Stated differently, do you believe that I could end up like you?"
Stella couldn't say anything. She questioned why he felt compelled to come to her and inform her that he had to go find the person who had spoken the words that would bring divine punishment. Stella could not stand him, and when she was about to chastise him, she noticed a subtle tobacco and wine odor on his body.
Clarence hardly smoked in their three years of marriage unless he came across anything really irritating. However, this was unrelated to her, and even in a terrible mood, he could not dishonestly offend her. When she did not answer, Clarence released her hand and said, "I'll give you a chance to explain to me about the folic acid."
Stella's lips were pursed. She was really irritated when he promised to give her another chance. Clarence continued, "Stella, I would believe your every word, so think clearly before you answer."
Stella made a big concession with him despite the 10 million debt, telling him, "It's not mine. Sherry's~She and her partner are getting ready for a kid and will shortly be married."
"How come her things are in your bag?"
“ We both work for the same magazine publisher, and I live with her. She left too soon and forgot to take it with her, so I brought it to her. Is there a problem?" Stella didn't sure if Clarence agreed with her statement because he remained silent.
Two seconds later, he asked, "Are you not living with her? What are you doing in the hotel, then?” He inquired.
"Don't you have your brain to think about it?," irritated Stella. “She and her partner are expecting a child. Would it be appropriate for me to stay there going forward?"
Clarence remained silent. Stella responded, "If you have nothing further to say, maybe Mr. Conrad leave now? I don't want to stay in the same room with you and then be mysteriously called "disgusting" again. As long as people have mouths, they can gossip."
“Oh no, this wasn't your fault! "I can be irritated to remarry you if you don't want to be gossiped about," remarked Clarence in a calm tone. “No one has the right to gossip as long as our connection is equal and lawful.”
As soon as he was done speaking, Stella started to throw up. Clarence grew enraged instantly, clenching his teeth and yelling, "Stella!"
Stella shoved him aside and dashed to the restroom before she could say anything more. She gave the toilet bowl a hug and lost a lot of weight. When she eventually emerged from the restroom, Clarence was still standing there, staring at her with a chilly expression.
"What, did my words make you feel sick?" he asked, his visage icy.
"I'm only slightly experiencing stomach ache. However, I don't mind if you think that."
Clarence slammed the door and walked out before she could say anything more.
With a sardonic smirk, she returned to her spot on the couch. However, as she stared at the cold goodies in front of her, she became less hungry. With a sigh, she quickly gathered her belongings and took a seat on the bed. It was a really difficult night for her.
With anger, she aggressively caressed the corner of her broken mouth. She believed that the miserable man had become insane due to intoxication. This is due to the fact that, despite her best efforts to avoid him and block him on every platform, he still has the potential to get her into trouble. She was quite baffled as to how she could run into so many problems.
She turned over and placed her palm on her abdomen. Fortunately, he understood why she had purchased the folic acid, at least. He never suspected that she was taking medication because she was pregnant, even if he didn't.
