Chapter 38 038
Chapter 38 038
She intended to save the money so she could raise her child, but for some reason, she wound up deeply in debt. She could not decide whether to call the unhappy man stingy or generous. If he was kind, he would have come to stay next to the hospital bed to allow her to repay the two million dollars because he was afraid she would flee. If he was being stingy, he assisted her in quickly paying the ten million dollars penalty for breach of contract.
But the debt had come full circle, and now it was hers once more. Clarence was hence stingy and miserable.
Clarence discovered that Stella had deceived him once more after she had been gone for an extended period of time. What a cunning and clever woman she was. How could she voluntarily give up her hands? Everything was merely a means to an end for her.
Clarence hit the intercom button to summon Nathan. "What is going on with Vivian?" he asked coldly.
Nathan could sense the impending catastrophe as soon as he said those words. He quickly went through the entire explanation of the situation. "I intended to tell you last time but before I said it, you said that the cooperation with SG Jewelry Magazine was already a cooperation that ended a few years ago and you let me not mention them in the future," he remarked, truly and fully, as his comments were about to end.
Coldly, Clarence lifted his gaze. When Nathan saw this, he was horrified and said, "Mr. Conrad, I'll go to the SG Jewelry Magazine office now to clarify."
"No need."
Stella has already shamed him multiple times. It was obvious that she would be conceited if she knew about all those things. Even if all he did was solely for the sake of SG Jewelry Magazine, she might not agree and would merely consider him arrogant! Perhaps one day she would have the courage to do anything she wanted and walk all over him.
Just as Clarence was about to stand up, he noticed that Stella had left a medicine bottle in her spot. As he extended his hand to grab it, he noticed the two words, folic acid, printed on the bottle.
With a scowl, Clarence asked, "Why does she take this."
Nathan warily replied, "I've heard that taking this during the period of pregnancy preparation can effectively prevent neural tube malformation of the foetus."
Abruptly, Clarence grew gloomy. He held the bottle in his hand and felt a chill run down his spine. Getting ready for a pregnancy? Had their relationship already reached this point with Horace? Surprisingly, after three years, Stella intended to marry into the Jason family using the same methods!

Stella was depressed on the way, and she opened the door when she got home. "Darling, you're back, surprise!" The air burst with the sound of fireworks. Subsequently, a man appeared holding roses.
Stella couldn't say anything. Liam couldn't express his feelings. Both of them felt a little ashamed. Liam didn't laugh out loud twice and put the roses in his palm aside until a considerable amount of time had passed. "Sorry, I thought it was Sherry."
Stella remarked, "The magazine publisher has published a lot of works lately. Sherry will most likely return a little later than normal."
"Oh, I apologize. Originally, I had planned to surprise her."
"Don't worry, don't worry. I'm not going to tell her. She'll be overjoyed to see the surprise you've planned for her. I won't bother you folks; I'll leave first."
Liam stopped her from leaving in a symbolic way. "Or the next time, I'll do it. If Sherry finds out, she'll reprimand me."
Stella grinned and said, "I need to get done."
“Assist me in telling Sherry that I will not be returning tonight."
"Then let me see you off."
"No need, 'll just take a cab." Stella concluded her sentence and walked out, sensibly dressed for such a delicate occasion. Sherry has been dating Liam since their time in college. They had a really tight friendship, and last year the corporation moved Liam overseas for a minimum of two years. It appeared that he had returned ahead of schedule. They must have a lot to discuss and do together because it had been so long since they had seen one another. Did she not look like a third wheel staying there?
Stella located a café and took a seat. She started looking through the rental details. The sky outside grew progressively darker. Stella craned her neck and headed for the food.
"Stella, where are you?" was the call she received from Sherry midway through her meal.
"I'm eating out, have you gone back."
“ Indeed...That scumbag Liam is trying to pull a surprise on me. I'm almost scared half to death by him. My hands were tightly balled up, like if someone had broken in."
Despite Sherry's complaints, it was easy to sense that she was speaking in a pleasant and upbeat manner.
Stella chuckled, saying, "Stop berating him. He finds it difficult to return, so tonight's celebration will not be easy."
"After four or five years together, we already feel like a married couple, which is something to be happy about. Stella, you had better return for a visit tonight; I'll let him check into a motel."
"I don't like it; living outside is acceptable to me. How am I going to ruin your fun together, you guys?"
Sherry was a little shy when she heard this and said, "What are you talking about? Then, if you decide to stay outside, exercise caution. Email me the hotel's information later."
"All OK, no problem. Proceed and carry out your activity."
Liam wrapped Sherry's waist from her back after they hung up the phone and worriedly inquired, "She won't come back, right?"
"You still dare to say it?" Sherry touched his arm. “How come you return without informing me? Look, this is getting really awkward."
"I'm not aware that she's staying with us. I wouldn't have done it if I knew; all of this was done to surprise you. Well, my dear, please don't be upset; it was my fault."
"I'm not blaming you," Sherry hugged him as she turned to face him.
“To let her stay outside alone herself worries me a little."
"Don't worry about her; she's already an adult. It's been so long since we last saw one other; don't you miss me? Don't bring up her anymore.” Liam started moving his hands over her body.
"I was about to ask you, didn't you say that it would at least take two years before, it isn't even a year, how come..."
Liam's eyes fluttered slightly upon hearing this. "It's because I miss you too much, I've mentioned this many times before the company allows me to return," he said, trying to disguise his tears with a grin. “You have no idea how much suffering I've endured over there by myself." He had arranged a lot of candles for the surprise, and the living room was completely dark.
Sherry, then, was blind to the strange expression on his face. "Okay, okay, I know that you've suffered a lot," she gently murmured. “I promise to adore and care for you in the future."
Liam gave her a passionate kiss on the lips and exclaimed, "Don't need to wait until the future, do it now." All that was left in the living room were the flickering candle flames.
Stella showered and lay on the bed when she got to the motel. She checked her balance and retained the funds utilized for her daily expenses and the rental of the dwelling. She then gave Clarence access to everything else. Then, she removed every post she had made in the Moments that contained criticism of Clarence and was solely accessible to Winnie.
What good did it do to chastise him for a while when he could still control her?
Stella filled a cup with hot water before turning in for the night. Her first intention was to take the folic acid, but even after searching through her luggage, she was unable to locate it. She felt as like she had lost her energy as she sat on the bed, every nerve in her body pulsing with anguish. She didn't know where she lost her item because she had been everywhere today.
What was important was that she visited Clarence's office as well. Stella took some time to calm down before deciding to cautiously feel him out. Using the hotel phone, she looked up Clarence's number on the blacklist and made a call.
Before someone answered the phone, it took a while. "Mr. Conrad...it's me."
