Good news.

Good news.
The past few days I have literally spent in bed. My morning routine consisted of breakfast in bed and a visit from Mrs Lydia and Ms Lucia. After that I take a short walk with Guzman around the street and come back and get a bit of work done on my laptop.

I take another nap and wake up and find Ms Lucia with lunch. My evenings consist of brainstorming ideas with my team for our new project or sometimes watching Netflix while I eat dinner.

I haven't been able to watch a birth video without cringing and when I tell Ross he decides that it's best we manage to watch it together.

He hasn't been able to visit me ever since the first day he came over. He has been busy with work and the plans for the baby shower. We talk to each other like three times a day but Ross has refused to divulge any information about whatever is going on outside.

It makes me frustrated that even Kathy and Grandma Marcella are telling me little about what's going on around because they don't want me to go into worry mode.

Today Ross surprises me with a visit and my new favourite cravings super spicy five chili chicken from a new Asian fusion restaurant that he found out for me.
I have been craving it for a few days and even sent out Guzman to get it but he came back with another flavour because he couldn't find the exact kind of spicy that I was craving.

"Are you comfortable?"

Ross asks as he gives me another pillow. I'm busy digging into the extra hot spicy chicken wing that I have poured a generous amount of hot sauce in.

"Yes, I'm fine. You're going to completely smother me in pillows Ross"

I complain and he smiles nervously.

"I just want to make sure you're okay. Enjoying the chicken?"

"Hnmnmm" is my only reply with my mouth full of the spicy chicken meat.

I put my free hand on his face and caress it slowly.

"I'm very happy you're here, ecstatic even. You even brought me chicken!"

"Have you got news for me?"

I ask and he shrugs.

"I'm not supposed to tell..." Ross starts and I quickly cut him off.

"I know. But I'm so curious. If it's good news, tell me. If its bad news don't tell me."

Ross pauses for a while before agreeing.

"I thinks that's fair"

"I had dinner with Mr Dunham. We were able to close the deal"

Ross's voice sounds neutral but I can tell that he's super excited by the prospects of what the partnership with Dunham would bring.

"Are you serious? That's amazing. I'm so happy!"

I quickly clean my hands with a napkin as I hug Ross closely. He hugs me back and kisses my lips gingerly since my mouth is covered in the super spicy chilly sauce.

"You missed a spot." he says as he takes another napkin and cleans the rest of the sauce left on my face.

"Thanks." I murmur.

"The partnership means a lot to me. Carter's mad about it, he almost hit me when he saw me in the office today. But I was able to assure Mr Dunham that he was making the right decision. We closed the deal this morning"

"Wowwwww! Does that mean you have the Board on your side now?"

"It's a big deal, so I think so. So far I've been able to show them that I'm competent as a CEO. But I'm not sure they trust me enough, that's where the baby shower comes in."

"Oh! And how's that going?"

"Great! I enlisted the help of Kathy and your Grandma. They're very helpful."

So that's what Kathy and Grandma were hiding from me, they're planning my baby shower. I just knew that there was something up with them.

"Awwwn. I wish I could help"

"You can actually. We can always talk to them. They're actually at my place right now."

"Really?"

"Yea! They're talking to the events planner."

"Oh! We have to talk to them"

"We will. I have other news."

Ross's voice sounds grim and serious and I suspect it has something to do with the finger that mysteriously appeared in front of my apartment in a bloody box"

"The police found Carlos, the waiter's girlfriend. Her name is Naomi. She's shaken up but fine."

"Oh really? Oh thank God! Why didn't they contact me?"

I ask in surprise, I know I dropped off my contact details later with the cops because I was really interested in everything that was going on.

"I didn't want to bother you with everything, I thought it was going to be bad news so I told them to contact me since you were pretty shaken up."

"Okay. But are you sure she's fine? I think we need to talk to her."

I really don't think anyone with a chopped up finger would be fine. I think the she must be scared and confused as to all that's going on. Especially when she doesn't know that her stupid boyfriend Carlos tried to kill my babies.

"I'll try, but I don't think she'll want anything to do with us. But I might get Lucas our PI guy to talk to her. Maybe letting her know Carlos is fine will be all the push she needs"

"Okay. Okay. I'm so relieved. It's like things are finally turning around for us!"

I say in glee as I hold Ross's hand tightly and he smiles at me.

"They are actually and none of this has been possible without you by my side." Ross gently kisses my lips.

"Oh stop!" I wave his face away as my cheeks redden in a deep blush.

"It's true. You're the love of my life Elenora."

Once again, my heart beats faster and words evade me.

I open my mouth to speak but Ross places a finger on it.

"No, it's okay. I understand. You don't have to say anything now."

We both facetime Grandma and Kathy and they give us updates about the planning and arrangements for the baby shower.

They also remind me about the apartment.
Which I suspect must be Nick's idea to remind me.
I haven't talked to him ever since that day.

"Do you have to buy the apartment?" Ross asks as we both lay on the bed staring at the ceiling.

"Well, yea. I already checked it out"

"You know you don't have to"

I know Ross is going to try and talk me out of buying the apartment, but I still don't know what to do as regards that. I know I can easily choose the option to live with Ross, but so many things about our future is uncertain right now.

Like how I don't know if we will stay married after all this. Our marriage has and always will be based on a contract. I don't want him to feel obligated to stay married to me. And one way this will happen is if we live together.

We can always try out to work out the co parenting and dating part but marriage is a more serious lifelong  commitment.

"I actually don't know what to do. I want to buy the apartment because I'm not sure what's going to happen when all this is over. What happens when you get your island and the company back, will you still need me to be your wife?"

"Yes" Ross's immediate answer quickly destabilises me.

He wants to stay married to me?

Well, that isn't going to be possible, maybe he isn't thinking of the long term implications. Oh he doesn't know how hard it is to be actually married to someone.

"Ross, do you know what marriage means? It's a long term commitment. I don't think you fully understand what you'll be getting into. Besides, our marriage right now, is based on a legal contract."

"I am aware of that. And I don't care about that, I just want to be with you"

Ross pleads as he looks into my eyes.

"Unless you don't want to" he adds as his demure changed.

"I want to be with you Ross. But I'm scared. I got hurt the last time remember?"

"Yes. And I blame myself for it everyday. I promise I'll never hurt you"

"Ever" Ross adds as he draws her in for a kiss.

They both break apart after a few seconds and Ross smiles in content, he was brushing away strands of her red gold hair away from her face.

"You know, I think you even look more beautiful while pregnant"

I snort.

"Don't try to be nice, I look like a whale."

"I don't think so. You look even more prettier now. And plush. And warm. And your hair is brighter in the light"

"Awwn. I love it! Shower me with more compliments!"

I say as I roll to my side. The twins are being extra active in my tummy right now. They are kicking and moving around continuously as I talk to their father.

Ross and I spend an hour just talking about trivial things and he whispering sweet nothings in my ear. I've missed him so much these past few days.

I think I'm slowly becoming more and more addicted to him everyday.

"Oh! I was thinking that we could watch a birth video together. What do you think?"

I ask Ross and he nods.

"Okay, I guess I still have more time to spend with you."

"Yes! That's great! Pass me my laptop"

After a cringe worthy and beautiful video of a woman pushing out a beautiful baby boy and hearing his first cries, I have to say I have a lot of mixed feelings about the video.

First thing I know is that having a baby is going to be brutally painful and messy.

But it's all worth it in the end when you get to hold your precious little gift.

Ross gets a text from his phone.

"I gotta go" he answers with a frown.

"Kerry said Carter stopped by at the office and requested to take some files."

"Oh okay. What does he need them for?"

Ross sighs and pulls his hair out of his face in frustration.

"I have no idea. I'm going to find out why. I have to leave" he kisses my cheeks and jumps out of bed.

I try and get up to see him off to his car but he stops me and begs me to stay in bed.

He leaves a few minutes later.

I really hope everything is okay.

I am busy looking out the window when my phone beeps.

It's a message from Nick.
And I don't understand it.

I'm sorry about what I said. But if you want to keep you and your babies safe, you have to leave Ross.
