Chapter 90 Chapter 90

Chapter 90 Chapter 90
Vamica's POV

My body felt sore and cramped when I came to, my eyes peeling open to taking in where I was.

Everywhere was dark; that was when I noticed I had a blindfold on, my glasses missing.

My hands were bond to the back of the chair I was sitted on, a shudder ran through me as breeze came blowing right at me.

“It has been ridiculously hard to get to you” A distorted voice said, footsteps echoing in the room.

I stiffened, my head turning towards where the sound came from.

“W-who are you? What do you want from me?” I questioned, my voice shaky.

“That isn't necessary for you to know, Vamica. I knew what you found out by the way”

The person knows about the files? That meant this person was close to Knight's family.

“I see” I let out, false bravado making it come off as indifference.

“You won't be sounding like that when you see your mate has an hand in it” The person gloated, a hand resting on my shoulder.

The hand was too small to be a man’s hand. I had a suspicion of who it might be.

“See for yourself” My blindfold was loosened, my eyes snagging on the figure that stood before me.

I knew it. Serena. Why she decided to snatch me off on my way home was something I didn't understand.

Keeping my face carefully blank, I asked her a question.

“Why go through all this length when you know you would show me your face?”

“Because what you are about to read is enough for you to take off from the city” Her voice came out clearer this time around.

Everywhere was blurry without my glasses but I could still manage to see things close to me.

She held up a letter before me, my lips parting with shock at what I saw.

It was a detailed account of what had happened the night my parents were killed.

Once I read it finish, I looked away from her, years rolling down my cheeks at the gruesome fate they had met.

Alpha Magnus only spared me because of my ‘lack of wolf’, he dimmed me too weak, so he let me go.

“Are you done? Now listen to this voice note” She let out, her voice laced with excitement.

I bit my lips until I felt the copper taste of blood fill my mouth.

She was enjoying this; watching me cry over the way my family died.

Heated anger rose inside me, hot and heavy. My body shook with force as the ropes started breaking free.

“H-how is that possible?” Serena stuttered out as she shifted back, the recorder clattering to the floor.

“W-what are you all waiting for?! Grab her!” She ordered, swooping down to grab the recorder.

Before the black blobs that shimmered in the distance reached me, I sat back into the chair.

“Play it” I rasped out, panting. My heart raced but not with pain. Something felt…different within me.

The only reason I didn't match out immediately I had somehow loosened the rope was because of the recording she had with her.

I needed to know once and for all what I was dealing with.

“How dare you order me? I am doing you a favor!” She snarled, not coming any closer to where I sat.

Before I could reply her, the door to where we were bursted open.

I was immediately enveloped by Knight's scent. He was here.

I heard Serena run, something clattering to the ground.

“What about her?” I heard someone ask. “Leave her, she can die for all I care” Serena responded before they left.

I could hear the sound of fighting going on where I was.

I bent to the floor, my gaze snagging on the recorder.

I pressed the middle button, swallowing as Knight's voice came on.

“I would clean the mess you made, I would tie up your lose end, Father”

The hand in which I held the recorder dropped to my side, my head feeling full all of a sound.

So he wasn't here to save me, he was here to finish up what his father hadn't.

Hurt bloomed within me, my eyes filling up with tears.

My gaze caught my bag behind the chair I had been sitting on, I grabbed it, searching through it for my glasses.

I walked out of the…warehouse through the hidden entrance Serena and her goons had escaped.

“Vamica!” Knight yelled out behind me. My feet froze, my body acting against my brain.

I felt his presence behind me, his body so close; he might as well have been touching me.

I turned to face him, my body shifting away from his.

“D-did they hurt you? Where are you hurt?” He gritted out, his words breaking slightly.

That was the first time I heard Knight sound like that, almost as if he…truly cared about me.

But I knew better, the recording already said a lot. “Stay away from me from now on, i-i don't want to have anything to do with you” I sniffled, a lump growing in my throat.

I wouldn't waver, I couldn't. “You know what, let me take you-”

I played the recording, watching as his brows snapped together in confusion.

“How did you get that recording?” He asked, stepping closer to me.

He didn't say he wasn't the one, he didn't deny what he said in the recording.

He was just curious as to where I had gotten it from.

My heart broken anew as I shook my head, I brought out my phone, speed dialling Ethan.

“I am currently at the hospital, I know what I said…Are you okay? Where are you?” Ethan questioned.

“I-I would share you my location. Just…come take me away from here” I sobbed into the phone.

“Don't hang up okay, I would there right now” The sound of traffic assured me he was truly on his way.

“Who was it that brought you here?” Knight asked his jaw ticking.

“I don't have to tell you anything, not anymore”
