Chapter 89 Chapter 89

Chapter 89 Chapter 89
Vamica's POV

My head rested on the window of the cab as rain pelted down on it.

The fact that I had almost gotten arrested over something I didn't do was fresh on my mind.

Of course someone like the chairman would be able to pull strings like that.

“Thanks for the ride” I mumbled out as I paid the cab man.

The rain sprinkled on me as I walked into the hospital, my head throbbing.

I stepped into the elevator, resting against the wall as my ears filled with static noise.

“Your wolf is awakening” The witch said, startling me.

“W-what do you mean?” I asked, my hands clutching at my head.

It felt as if my head was been crammed with something heavy.

She placed a hand on my head, the throbbing vanishing as if it hadn't been there at all.

“Whether you like it or not, you are changing” She replied just as the elevator door pinged open.

I stepped out as other people filled it, my mind spinning with what she had just told me.

“Hey grandma” I called out as I pushed open the door to her hospital room.

“My darling girl” She let out, her arms spread open for a hug.

Her color was better than the last time I had seen her; that was a good sign.

She might get released early from the hospital at this rate.

I settled into her hug, a sigh leaving my lips as her hands tightened around me.

I missed the days when it was just my condition I had to worry about.

“About what you said the last time…” I started, my eyes pinned on her.

She dropped the spoon she held, her eyes blinking as she folded her arms on her belly.

“I-I am sorry I kept this from for this long, there just never seemed to be a right time to tell you” Her voice trembled, eyes swimming with tears.

I swallowed at her tone, her words feeling a bad premonition to what she had to tell me.

“We are not humans” She blurted out, sniffling.

Even though I had heard people tell me this over and over again, this was the first it was sinking in.

Maybe because it was coming from someone I believed wouldn't lie to me.

“We are werewolves. your parents were the leaders of the FangClaw pack before t-tragedy struck” She added, bursting into tears at the last part.

“Why?” I let out, my voice breaking with the question.

Her hands grasped mine, tears falling on our clasped hands.

“To protect you from the one who destroyed our family, h-he might still be looking for you” She replied, her eyes pleading.

My heart skipped a beat at her sentence, the same issue that had been plaguing me was about to be answered.

“Who is it?” I demanded, my heart in my throat as I shifted closer to her.

“Alpha Magnus” she stated out, the name infused with hatred.

My heart dropped to the bottom of my stomach at that.

It was confirmed now; there isn't any what if or maybe anymore.

Knight's Father had killed my parents. “Is this him?” I requested as I showed her a picture of him.

“Y-yes, how did you…?” Her eyes went wide as she froze.

“Have you met him before?” She asked, her hands trembling.

I nodded, guilt engulf at the thought of what I had done with his son.

“Why did he kill them?” I had to know why he did it.

“Our pack was always rich than his, although smaller. In order to claim those riches for himself, he…. eliminated those who were in his way” she explained, tears rolling down her cheeks.

So, it was my parents' sweat and labor he used to build Lead Corp in one word.

Anger and pain warred within me, my hands balling into fists.

I hated how powerless I was. I couldn't even do anything about it.

If only my grandma had told me about this earlier, maybe I wouldn't be in the mess I was currently.

“How come there no signs?” I asked her. My childhood had been normal. I didn't see anything unusual nor did I feel different.

“When you are on the run, you learn to always be vigilant. Your heart condition made us conclude you had no wolf. Werewolves are know to be extremely healthy” she disclosed as she patted my hand.

A sad chuckle made its way out of me; even as a wolf I was an anomaly.

I stood up from the chair, my hands pulling out of her grasp.

“I have to go, I would come back later” I stated, turning to walk out of the door.

“I am sorry, Vamica. I wanted to tell you so many times but…I didn't want your heart to give out under the shock” She called out, her tone apologetic.

While I understood her motive, I couldn't get over the fact that she had kept the truth from me.

“I would be back, I promise” I walked out of her room, shutting the door behind me.

I heard her soft cries as I entered into the elevator, my heart breaking anew.

I could only imagine what my parents would think now if they could see me.

I stumbled out of the elevator, my heart twinging with pain.

I ignored it, pushing through the doors of the hospital.

The rain became heavier but that didn't stop me from entering it.

“You shouldn't be walking in the rain like this” a man I didn't recognized said to me, covering my head with a umbrella

He gripped my arm with a frim hand, making me stiffen.

“I am fine” I let out, my voice low as I snatched my arm away from his grip.

He could be a rogue for all I know. I glanced at the hospital, the light shining amidst the rain.

I should have simply waited till the rain stopped. I shuffled away from the man, entering into the rain once more.

“Then I am sorry for this” That was the last thing I heard before a smack hit my neck then everything went black.
