Chapter 197 Higher-Level Techniques

Chapter 197 Higher-Level Techniques

Cole was gasping for air, his face twisted with fear.

At first, he hadn't taken Jaxon seriously at all. He never imagined Jaxon's abilities could reach this level.

This was completely beyond his expectations. If this continued, he genuinely feared he'd die here.

Hearing his plea for mercy, Jaxon stopped his assault, staring coldly at him.

"Then talk. You get one chance."

Cole's expression darkened as he nodded, not daring to hesitate even a second. He immediately revealed the whereabouts of that group.

"They're at—"

Halfway through his sentence, a flash of malice crossed Cole's eyes. He suddenly pulled out a blood-red vial and jabbed it into his chest.

In an instant, his aura underwent a complete transformation. His strength multiplied several times over what it had been before.

His eyes turned crimson, power surging through his body. He glared viciously at Jaxon, killing intent radiating from his gaze.

"You goddamn bastard, you dare treat me like this? Today, I'll make sure you die!"

Jaxon's brow furrowed, his expression darkening as he stared Cole down. Though he didn't fully understand what was happening, one thing was obvious.

Something was seriously wrong with Cole right now. His strength had increased several times over.

"Interesting. Looks like I underestimated you."

"Cut the crap. Today, you'll learn what happens when you cross me."

The sound of bones cracking and popping echoed from Cole's body. His previously shattered bones instantly healed.

He lunged forward, closing the distance to Jaxon in a single stride, and threw a devastating punch.

Enhanced by the serum, this strike packed unprecedented power—several times more terrifying than before, with significantly amplified strength.

However, Jaxon had already figured it out. This guy was at the end of his rope.

This time, Jaxon didn't engage. Instead, he kept dodging.

Cole had planned to use his enhanced strength to finish Jaxon off.

He never expected Jaxon wouldn't meet him head-on, but would keep evading instead. This was completely beyond his calculations.

His expression darkened, eyes brimming with killing intent. Though deeply frustrated, he didn't dare act rashly.

"Damn it!"

"What kind of skill is hiding and dodging? If you've got the guts, fight me head-on!"

Hearing his roar, Jaxon let out a cold snort, his face filled with disdain.

"You're not worthy."

At those words, Cole's anger flared, rage burning in his eyes.

"You dare spout such arrogance? Today I absolutely won't let you go!"

Cole launched another attack, but his body was clearly showing signs of distress.

The moment he took a step forward, he exposed an opening. Jaxon's eyes turned cold. In a flash, he closed the distance and kicked Cole flying over thirty feet.

Cole slammed heavily into the wall, pain etched across his face.

"How is this possible? I injected the serum—how can this be happening?"

He struggled to get up, but no longer had the strength to stand.

Jaxon's expression remained blank as he flashed to Cole's side and grabbed him by the throat.

"Now I don't just need to know where Crest Security Syndicate is. I also need to know what that serum you used is, and where you got it."

Though this serum looked similar to Aetheris Serum, it was different.

And according to his investigation, Cole had no connection to The Main Storms, so this serum couldn't possibly be from them.

"You'll never find out!"

Cole glared at him viciously, eyes still filled with killing intent.

Seeing his expression, Jaxon's face instantly turned cold.

"That's fine. If you won't talk, I have plenty of ways to make you."

Jaxon's eyes turned cold as he delivered another punch to Cole's abdomen.

...

At first, Cole's mouth stayed shut tight. But after just a few seconds, fear took over.

Seeing Jaxon about to strike again, he quickly shouted for him to stop.

"Wait! I'll talk. This serum is something newly developed by our organization. I know The Main Storms had something similar before."

"But our stuff is different from yours. We've utilized more advanced biotechnology—stuff The Main Storms can't achieve."

"Even though it's just an experimental product, it can amplify a person's strength tenfold or more in a short time, with minimal side effects."

Despite his words, Jaxon's face was filled with doubt.

"Crest Security Syndicate has that kind of capability? How come I didn't know? Besides, if you really had that kind of power, you probably wouldn't still be hiding in the shadows like rats."

Jaxon's gaze was sharp, making Cole's heart race with panic.

"That's because our development isn't complete yet. Otherwise, Frostkeep would already be ours!"

"Is that so? Then tell me—where are you hiding?"

Cole hesitated for only a few seconds before shaking his head.

"I don't know."

"I'm only responsible for the experiments. I don't know anything else."

Though that's what he said, his evasive eyes had already betrayed him. Jaxon saw through it instantly.

"You sure about that?"

Jaxon's gaze was penetrating, but Cole remained stubborn. "I said I don't know, so I don't know. And I have no reason to lie to you. Everything I've said is true."

His reason for not revealing the information was simple—developing this serum was Crest Security Syndicate's core secret.

If he actually disclosed it to Jaxon, the organization wouldn't let him off. They'd make him wish he were dead.

"Alright then. If you won't tell me, I won't force you."

A cold light flashed in Jaxon's eyes, making Cole's entire body tremble.

"What are you going to do?"

Under his watchful gaze, Jaxon smiled.

"Don't be nervous. I won't let you die."

With that, Jaxon stepped forward, grabbed Cole, and hauled him out of there.

After returning, Jaxon handed Cole directly over to Nightshade. His instructions were simple.

Don't let Cole die, but get the information and data.

At those words, Nightshade understood immediately and took Cole away.

They had plenty of methods for torturing people. No one had ever held out under their hands.

Dealing with someone like Cole would be child's play. They'd definitely make him spill everything.

It had to be said, Cole was impressively stubborn.

What would break most people in an hour took Cole a full day before he finally chose to talk.

However, what he knew was extremely limited. He only knew a general area—he had no idea about the specific location.

After receiving the information, Jaxon immediately issued orders to Nightshade.

"Start investigating that area right away. Don't overlook any clues. Find out their exact location."

Hearing this, Nightshade nodded and immediately left.

Initially, Jaxon thought Nightshade wouldn't need much effort, but it took a full day before Nightshade returned with news.

"General Storm, something's not right about that area."

Hearing this, Jaxon grew suspicious, confusion crossing his face.

"What's the problem?"

"According to my investigation, there are over a dozen locations in that vicinity that all match Cole's description extremely closely."
