Chapter 91 Who Should Apologize to Whom
Michael could barely stand steady.
He clutched his chest: "Lily, what did you say?"
"I said I want to cut ties with you. I hate it most when you arrange my life on your own, claiming it's for my good."
Lily was really angry.
She had never talked about cutting ties before, only wanting to keep her distance.
"I should have said this earlier, so you wouldn't keep being confused, always doing this and that in the name of being my brother, acting like you're doing it for my good. It's really disgusting!"
Lily's eyes were cold.
She hadn't planned to say such harsh words when leaving the Roberts family.
But they kept crossing her line.
Michael could barely catch his breath, his voice trembling: "Lily, I didn't know you hated me so much, hated the Roberts family so much!"
"Yes, now you know?"
Michael looked up at her: "I'll take it as angry words. If that school doctor is any kind of man, he should take responsibility himself and go apologize at the hospital in person!"
"You've gone too far!"
"Now you can come to the hospital with me, right?"
Lily stared at Michael for a moment, then turned and hailed a car and left.
She called Dennis, but no one answered.
She remembered what happened to Ethan in her past life - he got into a conflict with someone, and the Murphy Family forced that person to apologize.
In the end, that person was humiliated and beaten by Ethan.
Lily was extremely angry now.
She texted Dennis: [Where are you now?]
[At the hospital.]
After seeing his reply, Lily immediately called, "Dennis, don't go in yet, just wait outside for me. I'll be right there."
"You're coming too?"
Dennis had just gotten out of the car, frowning: "The celebration dinner ended that quickly?"
"Don't change the subject. Wait until I get there."
Lily hung up after saying that.
Dennis looked at his phone, then looked up at the hospital.
Eric parked the car and walked over: "Lily called you?"
"Yes, she told me to wait for her outside."
"Lily's pretty protective."
Michael had indeed contacted Dennis this morning, but they didn't take the Roberts family's threats seriously at all.
He and Dennis came to the hospital now just to deal with Ethan's situation.
Of course, mainly it would be him dealing with Ethan.
Dennis stood at the hospital entrance: "You go in first, I'll wait for her here."
"Alright, I'll make it quick."
Eric walked straight into the hospital, heading directly to Ethan's private room.
At that moment, Ethan was lying in bed, wrapped in bandages, enjoying Sophie's care.
Sophie said softly and gently, "Ethan, when Lily and the others come to apologize later, please give Austin some face. After all, Lily is from the Roberts family."
"I know. As long as Lily apologizes properly, I can let this go. But that poor school doctor boyfriend of hers must pay the price!"
Ethan's voice got a bit loud, and he gasped from the pain in his ribs.
Sophie's eyes showed a hint of satisfaction: "Thank you, Ethan. Lily was just tricked by that school doctor; that's why she ran away from home to live with him."
"I don't know how I ever liked an easy woman like Lily. Sophie, you're much better."
Although Ethan played around by himself, he also liked clean girls.
"Who are you calling easy?"
Eric walked into the room just as he was badmouthing Lily.
Good thing Dennis didn't come up with him, or he'd be dead.
Dennis was very protective of Lily now.
When Ethan looked up and saw Eric, he was so scared he almost dropped his apple: "You... you..."
It was his cousin!
Did his family find out about the trouble he caused and send Eric to deal with him?
When Sophie saw Eric, she looked behind him at the space: "So it's you. Where's that school doctor?"
Eric said calmly, "I'm enough to handle this. He doesn't need to come."
Deal with Ethan? Did that require Dennis?
No need to use a sledgehammer to crack a nut.
Sophie's tone was mocking: "You? You're hardly qualified. Wasn't that school doctor pretty arrogant? Why is he hiding like a coward now?"
"Shut up."
Ethan directly scolded Sophie: "How do you talk to people?"
He didn't even dare talk to Eric like that.
Sophie felt wronged after being yelled at: "Ethan, what's wrong with what I said?"
Eric looked at Ethan with a half-smile: "Make her leave. We'll talk about this alone."
"Right, right, Sophie, go out first and close the door."
"Ethan, this matter involves me, too. Why do I have to leave?"
Sophie felt Ethan was being disrespectful. Sure enough, men don't cherish you once they've got you.
Ethan was getting impatient: "Just go when I tell you to. Don't you understand?"
He didn't want Sophie to see him getting dealt with by Eric. He had his dignity.
Sophie stamped her foot and ran out angrily.
Only the two of them were left in the room.
Eric walked over and pulled up a chair to sit: "You really know how to have fun, don't you?"
"I thought the voice I heard at the bar sounded like you. I thought I heard wrong. Why didn't you just take off your mask then?"
"None of your business. Your injury is your own fault. Don't drag anyone else into this, got it?"
Ethan was confused: "Eric, is that the school doctor your friend?"
Otherwise, why would Eric personally come to the hospital to handle this?
"Yes, so you know what to do now?"
"But I have a broken rib, Eric. Don't you care about me? Who is that school doctor that you'd come mediate?"
Eric was frustrated: "You're better off not knowing. As long as you don't make a big deal out of this, I can talk to your mom about your exam grades."
Ethan was overjoyed: "Deal!"
For him, the exam grades were the hardest thing to deal with.
Who told Eric to be a top student when he was a poor one!
The car arrived at the hospital, and Lily rushed out without a word.
She was so focused on getting to the hospital that she didn't watch where she was going and almost tripped.
"Be careful, watch where you're going."
Dennis caught Lily's arm, his eyes showing some helplessness.
When Lily looked up and saw him, she finally relaxed: "You didn't go in, did you?"
"No, I've been waiting here for you."
Dennis felt there was no need for him to go in. Eric could handle this himself.
But he didn't expect her to rush over so urgently.
After hearing this, Lily instantly relaxed: "Good that you didn't go in."
"You were in such a hurry. What did you want to tell me?"
"I want to say you don't need to listen to Michael. I've already found a lawyer. If the Murphy Family wants to make trouble, we'll fight them to the end."
Lily's expression was extremely serious.
Dennis's gaze fell on her, seeing her determination at this moment.
When she called earlier, her tone was anxious and concerned.
His usually calm heart actually rippled at this moment.
Dennis couldn't help but flick her forehead: "This isn't that serious. I'll handle it."
"What can you handle? Even if you have a rich friend like Eric, it's nothing compared to the Murphy Family in Empire City. If the Murphy Family pursues this, you alone won't be enough."
"Just me, why wouldn't I be enough?"
"You're just a school doctor. How can you go against that kind of wealthy family?"
Lily pressed her lips together: "Besides, this is all because of me. You only hurt that idiot rich kid Ethan because of me."
At this moment, hearing her call him an idiot rich kid, Dennis had an indescribable feeling.
Dennis chuckled: "You want to take responsibility for someone, too?"
"I'll take responsibility for you, so what?"
