Chapter 235
Chapter 235
Juno's POV
I reached out through my link. Delta Garth, could you bring me a laptop to luna Scarlett's room? One that isn't used for anything important.
I was grateful Augustin had left Garth with me. The Delta was respectful, efficient, and followed orders without question. I wouldn't trade him for anyone.
Right away, Luna, came his prompt reply.
Thank you, Garth.
While waiting for the laptop, our food arrived. We ate in comfortable silence for a few minutes before Scarlett spoke up.
"The wedding is getting closer, and I still haven't decided what to wear," she sighed, picking at her scrambled eggs.
Freya groaned. "Those resistance bastards messed up all our plans. We should be getting beauty treatments right now instead of dealing with this mess."
"It's going to be a rushed wedding," she continued glumly. "All because of those assholes."
I smiled despite myself. Even though Augustin and I could mark and connect without the Purplemoon ceremony, I still wanted to experience that special moment.
"We should let Ruby, Amelia, and Olivia handle the wedding planning," I suggested. "We just need to worry about our dresses."
"Ruby is getting married that day too," I reminded them. "And Olivia seems eager to find something to do. Amelia's been bored lately."
Freya nodded slowly. "That's actually a good idea. But will your sister-in-law mind? And is Amelia stable enough?"
"Amelia sometimes seems..." Freya trailed off, searching for the right word. "Unpredictable."
I knew why Amelia was unstable, but I couldn't tell them. Augustin and I had sworn to keep her secret until we caught the bastards responsible for everything.
"Amelia will be happy to help," I assured Freya. "Trust me."
A knock at the door announced Garth's arrival with the laptop. I thanked him and quickly set it up on the desk, inserting the USB drive with caution.
The drive contained a folder labeled "Files" with subfolders including "Desktop," "downloads," and "documents." Each subfolder contained a single file, all were lists, some downloaded from emails, others screenshots of folders.
At first, the information seemed disconnected, but as we scrolled through, patterns emerged.
"Holy shit," Scarlett whispered, leaning over my shoulder. "There are over eighty names here."
"That's more than we knew about," I said, my pulse quickening. "We've only arrested what, thirty or forty people?"
"Look at this," Freya pointed at the screen. "Eighty names, and we already know twenty-seven of them. This is huge."
"Isabelle really had it in for her father," Scarlett remarked.
"The only problem is there are no aliases," I noted, scrolling through the list again. "We don't know which one is 'Sovereign' or if they're even on this list."
"Before Matthew decides what to do with Isabelle, we need to get her to tell us who 'Sovereign' is," I said firmly.
"She's being cooperative for now," I continued. "But we don't have direct evidence that she was involved in anything. We can't keep holding her against her will without violating her rights in Clifflands, unless Matthew decides to take her back to Forestvale."
We continued examining the files, the weight of what we'd discovered settling over us.
