Chapter 42 Protection and Liberation
Chapter 42 Protection and Liberation
Continuation...
Third Person's POV
CAW! CAW! CAW! It was no other than Obsidian--- Lord Constantine's pet raven, guardian of the manor.
The bird's loud and menacing cawing served as a lifeline of Gertrude back to her reality. In just a matter of seconds, she opened her eyes, followed by a tremendous catching of her breath. She collapsed on the ground, completely hysterical. "Lila! I thought you were gone... I t-thought you left me." she called out to her and whimpered in her arms.
"Oh, Trude, I was so worried..." Lila looked like as if she had no clue of what happened as well.
"What happened to me? Where is he?" Trudy looks around, a little bit paranoid.
"I'm sorry, but where is who?"
"Guillaume... he was just here, talking to me." she slowly stood up and began walking around, trying to prove her point.
"You were not moving, Trudy. Like you're---" Lila stammered.
"Like what?" There is a hint of anxiety in her voice. She know that she may not be prepared for whatever is she is going to her from Lila.
"Stuck. Possessed. I don't know, Trude... let's just get you home, okay? I never should have brought you here with me." her tone confused, but she could not think of anything else to sugarcoat the truth. That all those times, Gertrude was under his spell... in a trance as if she was hallucinating. Guilaume invades her mind and makes her see things--- terrible things.
The market is almost empty. It is nearly closing since it is almost getting dark and besides, this is just a small town with a small population. "Let's get back to the port, shall we?" Lila leads the way, her eyes glued on the other while walking. After witnessing that incident, Lila just got scared as she is, like it is going to happen again.

When the two ladies got home, Trudy immediately searched for Lord Constantine to report him the bad news. "He's not in his room, do you have an idea where he might have gone?" she asked Madame Ingrid.
"Well, you are late. The Lord just went out to fix something. I am certain that he will be back in no time," she got carried away with the way the old lady smiled. Her teeth not showing, just the edges of her lips gently curving. Her fair skin shows no wrinkles. The head mistress surely does age backwards. "Did he mention where he is gonna go?" Trudy questioned.
"To the port." the woman plastered another smile on her face. But as for Gertrude, that smile meant another thing.
On the other side of the island lies the port of the town where the boats are docked, the boatmen are taking their naptime in their little barracks. It is a silent night, with little chirps of insects in the background, calm crashing of the waves of the sea, and the place started to be filled with smoke as the man in his mid 20s bum his cigarette. "Darn those pretty little things. Man, they just got away!" he rumbled to himself, tugging his hair out of disappointment.
While the rest of the boatmen are heavily sleeping, this man, being the youngest, is the only one who stays awake, busy bumming a smoke. He threw one butt of a cigarette on the water and took another stick in his pocket. He lowered his head to light it up and inhaled the toxins in. "What the fuck..." he cussed when he heard the light bulb hanging by the camping house burnt out, making the place a little darker.
He did not mind the pitch black surroundings, making himself a real man. Until he started hearing a low growl, coming not far away from where he is standing. "Who the hell is there?" he scowled and squinted his eyes in the dark, trying to get a closer look.
"I swear to God, if this is some kind of a prank..." he warned and stood up. His cigarette clipped between his slightly trembling fingers.
"Hello?!" his angry voice echoes. Only his heavy footsteps are heard.
Another growl lurks around. But this time, it is closer than ever.
"Jesus Christ!" the man exclaimed when he turned around and saw the figure. It is towering over him. It is grinning to him, sharp, deadly fangs are showing, like a rabied animal.
One step and the poor man collapsed on the ground, eyes are not leaving the creature. Both mesmerized and scared to see it before his very eyes.
"What in the world... Lord Constantine?" he could not believe of what he is witnessing in front of him.
He blinked, waking himself, proving that this is not all a nightmare. "The one and only." Constantine growled.
"But--- why are you... WHAT ARE YOU?!" the man cried.
"I will not forgive you for trespassing my wife..." Lord Constantine's eyes darkened, while the other man's eyes almost popped in fear, followed by a loud, disturbing shriek.
Constantine grabbed the man by his neck. He could not control the bloodlust rushing through his undying veins. The man strained and choked, gasping for air. Constantine lifted him to the air with one strong hand, his lips curving into a smile while slowly satisfying himself with the pain of another man's soul.
"AAHHH, H-HELP... P-PLEASE..." the man quivered in fear, still fighting for breath to breathe. His legs are hardened, unable to move his muscles.
Before he make any more choking noises, Lord Constantine impaled him by piercing his fangs and teeth onto his sweaty neck, blood gushes through his neck down to his shoulders. The creature enjoyed playing with his blood, quenching his thirst like he is some sort of a slaughtered pig. He mercilessly threw him on the ground, watching life slowly leave his failing body. "Tsk, tsk..." Constantine uttered and grabbed the dying man's chin.
He heaved a sigh, conditioning himself. The thought of this man, staring at his beautiful wife as if he is going to fuck her is disgusting the hell out of him.
"Your eyes are sinful. You do not deserve to own them." These were his last words before finally sucking his eyes out of his skull.
