Chapter 35

Olivia woke up the next morning and slowly got out of the bed. She heard Jaime humming to a music she had never heard before and she smiled dreamingly at the memory of how sweet and careful he had been during the night.

After wrapping herself with a blanket, she walked to the door of the bathroom and knocked on the door. Jaime stopped humming when he heard this and said "Coming"

"Good morning" Olivia greeted "How was your night baby?"

"Extremely good" he replied "Yours?"

"Good" she smiled and walked back to the bed. She picked her phone and dialed Bianca's number "Good morning sis" she said "Oh God Livia! Where are you? Why didn't you come home last night?"

"I told you I was going somewhere, didn't I?"

"You told me that, but you didn't say you would be spending your night somewhere else"

"I know you won't let me go if I tell you where I'm…" She trailed off when Jaime stepped inside the room "Hey Livia" Jaime called with a beautiful smile on his face "You look extremely beautiful right…"

Olivia shushed him before he could finish the statement, but Bianca's already heard what he said "Olivia where are you?" Bianca asked, "Who are you with?"

"I'm with Jaime" she replied and waited for Bianca's scolding but to her surprise, Bianca only called her name softly

"Olivia"

"What about Kylie, mom and dad?" Olivia said in order to change the subject "They are all worried about you"

"I will soon be home" she said and hung up the phone "Hope no problem?" Jaime asked when he was sure that she had hung up "No problem. My sister is just worried"

"Should I talk to her?"

"Thanks but everything is okay now. I would like to go and shower now"

"I’ll be waiting for you here," Jaime said.

During breakfast, Jaime looked at Olivia and said, "When will you and my daughter be coming back?"

Olivia dropped her fork when she heard this and thought about the question for few seconds before replying "I don't know"

"Because you don't trust me" Jaime said "Not that but I'm not coming back to this city unless you're ready to show me to the world as yours"

"Anything else?"

"For now, that is what I want. If you can give me that, I will be very happy" Olivia replied "Consider it done" Jaime said and smiled at her After eating breakfast together, they went their separate ways. Jaime to his office because he was to attend an important meeting and Olivia to her family at the neighboring city.

"Mom" Kylie screamed when she saw Olivia and ran toward her "Dad called" she added and threw herself at Olivia "When?" Olivia asked "This morning. Did he call you too? “Kylie asked and released her mother "No"

"Uh…uh" Kylie said sadly "But he called Aunty Bianca and told her to give me the phone. We chatted for a very long time"

"Were you happy to hear his voice?"

"Of course. We talked about a lot of things on the phone"

Olivia laughed at Kylie as they entered the house but stopped on her track when she heard the sound of another car outside their apartment "Are you expecting someone?" She asked Bianca curiously "No"

Kylie moved to the window while Olivia and Bianca were conversing and checked out who the visitor was "Daddy!" She screamed when she saw who stepped out of the car and ran out of the house "Jaime?" Olivia and Bianca chorused and ran to the door to see for themselves and lo and behold, it was Jaime that was walking toward their apartment with a lot of paparazzi behind him. And everything that happened next was in slow motion in Olivia's eyes.

How Kylie slowly ran to Jaime with her hands spread widely and shouted "Daddy" which was heard numerous times by Olivia after it had been said and how Jaime wholeheartedly smiled back at Kylie and took her in his arms "Daughter" he screamed back "You're crying" Bianca said and tapped Olivia whose attention were focused on Jaime and Kylie "Oh, am I?" She said and started using the back of her right hand to wipe her face The paparazzi kept snapping Jaime and Kylie that were still hugging themselves "Daddy" Kylie called again "Everything is okay now" Jaime said to her and gave her a light kiss on her cheek before he released her and focused all his attention on Olivia that was still standing where she had been since his arrival.

"Olivia" he called slowly while Bianca stylishly pushed Olivia out of the door "I love you. I know you know that, but I still like telling you. I'm sorry for everything"

Once he was few steps away from her, he stopped and put his hand inside his pocket, he brought out a small box and said while looking at her straight in the eyes "Will you marry me Olivia?"

Rose and her husband also came out of their room to see what was going on outside Tears rolled down from Olivia's eyes. She had never thought that there was going to be a day that someone would ask for her hand in marriage. She slowly turned around and looked at her sister and parents that were waiting eagerly for her reply before looking at Kylie who was pouting her lips "I will marry you, Jaime Scott" she replied, and Jaime put the ring on her finger. The moment the ring was on her finger, she hugged Jaime tightly with tears in her eyes.

"I promise you that we will be together forever" Jaime whispered into her ear while Olivia blushed Bianca, Rose, the paparazzi and even her sick father wooed at them.

About thirty minutes after the proposal, Rose rushed out of their room and called Olivia who followed her back. She sat on a chair that was by their bedside and slowly caressed her father's paled, wrinkled hand "Dad" she called slowly "Mom said you want to talk to me"

"Em…the…happiest…wan…on Earth" he forcefully said "What is he saying mom?" Olivia asked Rose. She was still finding it hard to understand her father "He said he is the happiest man on Earth" Rose replied with tears in her eyes "Dad"

"That…nigh…" Mr. Grimes said and trailed off "Dad" Olivia called "Dad! Dad" she called worriedly "Mom, what is wrong with that?"

"I think he is gone" Rose replied
