Chapter 24

Jaime was at the restaurant five minutes earlier and he kept checking the door until Olivia walked through it. He sighed heavily when he saw the woman that had always been the love of his life walked through the door She was putting on a plain black gown with red flat shoes with no makeover. Which made her stood out compared to the other ladies that were inside the restaurant.

Some of them gave Olivia some strange look as she followed the waitress to their table, but she didn't even spare them a second because her eyes were fixed on Jaime that was already waiting for her inside the restaurant.

"Hey" Jaime said and smiled at her Olivia just smiled back Laura watched Olivia and Jaime from a hidden spot inside the restaurant while shaking with anger Jaime got out of his seat and drew out Olivia's chair for her.

"Thanks for coming" he said After ordering their food, Jaime started talking "You look beautiful Livia"

Olivia rolled her eyes and continued eating.

"I'm sorry for not telling you about being engaged."

"That is not why I'm here. I'm here for Kylie," Olivia said.

"What about us?" Jaime asked "There is no us."

"Olivia."

"I'm here to talk about Kylie. And I would like to get going if you have nothing else to say," Olivia said and was planning to get up from her seat.

"I love you, Olivia."

Olivia slowly looked at Jaime while trying not to cry before she said, "Don't."

"I've always loved you."

"Don't! The last time I heard those words from you was a few hours before you disappeared."

"Give me another chance to prove my love for you. I know you're not going to believe this, but I broke up with my fiancée today"

"Your relationship status is none of my business."

"Everything is for you and Kylie."

"For now, let everything be about Kylie only."

Jaime drove Olivia back to her apartment about an hour later.

"I will see you tomorrow morning then," Olivia said as she was about to open the car door.

"Wait," Jaime said and Olivia looked him in the eyes curiously. "Do you still want to go to school?"

Olivia broke their eye contact when she heard this and looked straight ahead. Tears rolled down from her eyes uncontrollably and she found it hard to talk.

When she was able to talk, she replied to Jaime's question without looking in his direction "No"

This wasn't the reply that Jaime was expecting so, he pressed her "Why?"

"I will see you tomorrow morning. Good night" Olivia said and opened the car door before Jaime could stop her.

Jaime watched her as she walked angrily into the house, and he regretted ever asking her that question.

Olivia angrily walked to the door and was about to open it when she paused by the door and started eavesdropping on Bianca's phone call.

"It's not going to work out," Bianca said on the phone to someone. "Why do you want to see me?…And so what?…I've told you to stop calling my number…No matter how hard you try or how pitiful you sound on the phone, I'm not going to visit…You sent us out your life when we needed your help the most…when Olivia was about to end her own life! That poor girl needed you the most, Rose."

Rose was their mother's name. Tears rolled down from Olivia's eyes when she heard this, and she thought about interrupting the call.

"Do you know how depressed she became after you sent us away? Do you know what her child's name is or what the child's sex is? No. And since you can't answer those questions, you should stop calling me. We promised never to meet each other again and that is how it's going to be forever…Let this be your last time of trying to talk to me."

Bianca hung up the phone and sighed heavily while Olivia was debating whether to step inside. Olivia finally stepped inside the house five minutes later and decided not to ask Bianca about the phone call.

"Oh, you're here" Bianca said when she saw Olivia "Yeah" Olivia replied and nodded "How was it? Everything okay?"

"It wasn’t bad. He said he loves me"

"Don't take it too serious. That guy is a playboy"

Olivia sat on a couch across her sister's and said "He said he and his fiancée broke up today"

Bianca looked at Olivia disappointedly "And you believed him?"

Olivia sighed heavily "What if he is telling the truth?

"Even if that is the truth, they are still engaged officially on the internet"

Jaime entered his house and headed straight to his bedroom.

"Love" Laura said with her beautiful smile on her face while Jaime threw back his head in annoyance "What are you doing here at this hour?" Jaime asked "What does it look like I'm doing? Waiting for my love in his room" she replied seductively "It's late. We will talk tomorrow"

"Let's talk tonight"

"I'm tired, for goodness’ sake."

Laura smiled. "Of course you should be. Taking care of a single mother and her daughter is very tiresome."

Jaime's eyes widened and he focused all his attention on Laura.

"What are you talking about?" he asked.

Laura brought out her phone and opened her gallery "I'm talking about this" She replied as she handed her phone to Jaime Jaime saw the picture that was on Laura's screen. It was a picture taken about an hour ago at the restaurant "Are you stalking me?" He asked "I don't care what you call it. I'm doing this for our relationship. Do you know what my dad will say when he sees this?"

"That woman isn't someone you can mess with"

"Then, stop seeing her" Laura said "I can do whatsoever I like. It's not as if we're still engaged"

"Of course we're. We are! Let that sink into your brain"

"You destroyed this relationship yourself. You threw your engagement ring at me."

"Stop trying to put the blame on me. You're the one that should be blamed. I threw my engagement ring at you because I know you're cheating on me. Did you think that I didn't know that you've been seeing that woman for some time now? You slept over at her house…I mean your house that you gave to her…yesterday"

Jaime looked at Laura angrily while thinking "How do you know about this?"

"Don't mess with that woman" Jaime finally said quietly Tears rolled down from Laura's eyes and she sobbed "Don't you love me anymore?"

"I'm sorry"

Laura sighed heavily and tried to control her sobbing "I love you Jaime"

"I'm sorry"

Laura walked angrily out of the room.

Jaime changed his password not long after
