Chapter 198 The Dawn Beyond the Fracture
Chapter 198: The Dawn Beyond the Fracture

The ray of dawn-colored light rested upon the highest branch of the crystal tree, and for several long moments nothing happened. Lucas wondered if the light had reached the end of its journey. Then the branch began to bloom.

Leaves unlike any he had seen before unfolded one after another, glowing with a gentle golden hue that carried neither the cold precision of the old network nor the overwhelming brilliance of the Core. Their light was warm, almost human, and as they swayed, tiny sparks drifted into the air like seeds carried on an invisible wind.

Where each spark landed, the broken stone beneath their feet slowly repaired itself.

The platform was still scarred, but it no longer felt as though it would collapse into the endless void.

Elara knelt and touched the restored surface with trembling fingers.

"It remembers how to live," she whispered.

The ancient guardian smiled quietly.

"No."

He looked at Lucas.

"It remembers why."

The child laughed softly as one of the glowing sparks landed in its hands. Instead of fading away, it settled gently against its skin before dissolving into light. The lingering shadows surrounding the child became thinner than ever, almost transparent.

Lucas watched in silence.

For the first time, he realized the darkness had never been trying to overpower the light.

It had simply been waiting for the light to forget itself.

The lantern pulsed again.

This time, its golden flame separated into dozens of tiny lights that floated upward, joining the seeds drifting from the crystal tree. Together they rose toward the fractured sky, passing through the widening tear and disappearing beyond it.

"What are they doing?" Elara asked.

The radiant figure lifted its eyes to follow the ascending lights.

"They are carrying a memory."

"A memory of what?"

"Of what the universe was always meant to become."

Far beyond the fracture, distant stars answered one after another. Their light no longer seemed isolated. Thin golden paths appeared between them, weaving an immense network across the darkness—not a network of command, but of freely chosen connection.

Lucas felt the same warmth spread through the golden thread linking him to Victor, to Earth, and to everyone who had refused to surrender hope.

He smiled faintly.

"It has already begun."

The radiant figure nodded.

"Yes."

"But every beginning invites one final challenge."

As those words faded, a low rumble echoed through the Core.

From the deepest part of the fractured sky, something immense stirred.

Not with anger.

Not with hatred.

But with the quiet certainty of an ancient force awakening to discover that the universe it once knew had already begun to change.
