Chapter 91 Emma Funds Celeste's Apartment Renovation

Chapter 91 Emma Funds Celeste's Apartment Renovation
The car pulled into the villa's underground garage.
He turned off the engine, unbuckled his seatbelt, and walked around to the passenger side.
He opened the door and leaned in, trapping Emma between the seat and his body.
Emma instinctively shrank back, her heart pounding.
"What are you doing?" she asked, pulling away.
"You still haven't answered me." Liam narrowed his eyes at her.
"What?"
His gaze made her feel flustered.
"Do you love me?" he asked.
"Yes, I do."
She lowered her eyes, unable to meet his gaze.
Does he really have to ask so bluntly?
Liam's lips curved into a smile.
He gently lifted her chin with his thumb, forcing her to look at him.
"I didn't catch that. Emma, do you love me?"
Emma swallowed hard, her bright eyes fixed on the man staring intently at her.
She tilted her head back slightly, kissed the corner of his lips, and said softly, "Liam, I love you. I fell in love with you a long time ago."
Their burning gazes locked, and the air grew thick with desire.
He cupped the back of her head and kissed her deeply.
She has finally fallen in love with me.
She wrapped her arms around his lean waist, letting him lead.
His kisses spread from the corner of her mouth to her earlobe.
His large hands deftly undid her buttons and slipped inside her collar.
She couldn't help but moan.
"Liam…"
His grip tightened.
She tried to push him away.
Liam lifted his head slightly and rested his forehead against hers.
He continued to caress her lightly.
"What's wrong?" he asked in a hoarse voice.
"Arthur and the others are back at work today," she whispered, afraid the house staff might catch them in the garage.
"What are you afraid of?" he chuckled softly.
"No, I was too tired." She pushed away his restless hand on her chest.
He smiled, pinched her cheek, and kissed her lips.
Then he let go and carefully buttoned her shirt.
"Your company is launching a new product. Does that mean you won't have time to return to Vexel Apparel?" she asked.
He paused, then nodded.
She pondered for a moment before speaking cautiously. "I'm thinking of quitting."
"Huh? Why?" He was taken aback. "Why quit?"
"I plan to start a business with Claire," she said flatly.
"It sounds good, but you actually have a better option," Liam said.
"What?" Emma was confused.
"I'll transfer my shares in Vexel Apparel to you, and you'll take over management from now on," he said with a smile.
She was taken aback.
"No need to answer right away. We're a couple, I genuinely hope you'll help me shoulder some of the burden."
——
The day after the holiday, Emma went to the office early.
As soon as she stepped into the design department at Vexel Apparel, she heard her colleagues discussing the newly appointed general manager, Raymond Adams.
Emma didn't pay it any mind.
As soon as she got off work, she bought a bouquet and drove to Celeste's apartment.
"Congratulations, Celeste!" she exclaimed, handing Celeste the bouquet.
"Thanks, Emma!" Celeste took the flowers.
Dorothy Hall and Hannah Coleman, standing by, smiled awkwardly. "These flowers are so beautiful..."
"Isn't your boyfriend a rich guy?" Dorothy sneered. "Didn't he give you a credit card so you could buy something nicer?"
Emma smiled, paying no attention to her words.
"Emma actually helped with the interior design of this apartment!" Celeste interjected.
"This design..." Hannah snorted.
"It's nice. My grandmother may like it," Dorothy said sarcastically.
"I didn't know what style Celeste liked. When I got the keys, she was happy to be in the hospital," Emma said lightly, sitting down on the sofa. "I almost turned this place into a morgue."
The three of them turned pale instantly.
"Emma, you really know how to joke," Celeste said, putting on a smile.
"I'm not joking," Emma retorted immediately. "You'd better cherish your life. This renovation cost nearly $60,000. If you were to die, all my money would go to waste."
Celeste's mouth twitched.
"Your money?" Hannah snorted. "If you hadn't slept with Liam, would you have even been allowed to use his credit card?"
"That's my own doing. You'll probably just have to keep envying me for the rest of your life." Emma plucked a grape from the fruit bowl and slowly began eating it.
"People from small towns are just different. They have absolutely no taste!" Dorothy rolled her eyes.
"Who is no taste?" A clear, sharp voice came from the doorway.
It was Lillian.
"Aunt, you're here!" Celeste rushed over.
"You don't like this style?" Lillian asked coldly.
Celeste pursed her lips, glanced at Emma, and said, "It's not that I don't like it."
"The whole house smells bad. But I can't blame Emma for that," she continued, playing the victim.
"If you don't like it, tear it all down and start over!" Liam's voice came from behind them.
He was dressed in a crisp three-piece suit, with his jacket draped over his arm.
The white shirt and vest outlined the solid contours of his chest perfectly.
Emma couldn't take her eyes off him.
He is truly handsome.
The atmosphere in the living room turned tense.
"Liam, you're always the best to me! But since Emma already set it up for me, don't give her a hard time. After all, she might not be familiar with big-city tastes." Celeste smiled.
Emma popped a grape into her mouth and snorted disdainfully.
Lillian pulled her arm away from Celeste's grasp, walked straight past her, and sat down next to Emma.
Emma smiled and held a grape up to Lillian's lips. "Don't be angry."
"You're absolutely right—she really is a picky person!" Lillian said in a low, furious voice.
"You said that the whole room smells bad. You don't like it?" Liam asked, glancing at Celeste.
Celeste pursed her lips and spoke cautiously. "Since Emma chose it, of course, I like it. I'm just afraid my friends will think it's not up to par."
"Not up to par? Hmph! I chose the decor style for this house, and Emma paid for it herself. If you don't like it, I'll tear it all down tomorrow and have the furniture hauled away. You paid for it and decorate it however you like!" he shouted.
The others were completely stunned!
