Chapter 361 Oliver vs. Nicole: I've Been Looking Forward to This Day for a Long Time
"I'm not going. Why would I go when you're on a business trip?" Nicole pouted.
"You have to come with me," he said. "I don't want to have to call you at night to lull you to sleep."
She smiled and bit her lip.
"Won't that interfere with your work?" she asked.
"No," Oliver said, smiling. "Then it's settled."
"All right," Nicole replied.
"Let's go. Time to go to bed." Oliver stood up and held out his hand to her.
Nicole hesitated, staring at his large palm.
"Should I carry you?" he asked with a smile.
She placed her hand in his and let him lead her upstairs.
The two stood at the sink, brushing their teeth.
Oliver wrapped one arm around her waist and watched her in the mirror.
When she bent over to spit out the water, he reached up and brushed her hair aside.
She stepped out first.
He emerged from the bathroom later.
Seeing her sitting on the bed playing with her phone, he curved the corners of his mouth slightly. "Go to sleep."
"Hmm?" She tilted her head. "Okay."
She glanced at Oliver as he walked over and crawled under the covers.
He got into bed and reached out to turn off the light.
"Come here. How am I supposed to comfort you if you're so far away?"
She chuckled, shifted closer into his arms, and wrapped her arms around him.
He turned sideways, pulling her into his embrace.
He leaned down to kiss her hair and rested his hand on her waist.
Early the next morning.
It was the first time Nicole had ever seen Oliver sleep in.
She lay on her side, her head on his arm.
His hand still held hers as if he were afraid she might run away.
She curved the corners of her mouth slightly and turned his hand over.
She played with his palm.
Oliver's eyes were closed, but the corner of his mouth twitched.
Before she could realize it, he had already buried his face in her neck.
She rolled onto her back, tilting her head to look at him.
Sunlight fell on his face.
He reached out and tapped the tip of her nose, then pinched her cheek.
"Nicole," he called out.
"Hmm?" she replied.
"I've been thinking about this day for a long time."
She didn't quite understand. "Thinking about what?"
His gaze rested on her face. "Thinking about you waking up in my arms. Thinking about you smiling at me. Thinking about the day you'd tell me, 'Oliver, I love you.'"
She looked at him, and her heart skipped a beat.
She mimicked his gesture by pinching his cheek.
Then she tapped the tip of his nose and said, "Oliver, I like you. I've also longed to wake up in your arms like this."
Oliver thought she was about to say something affectionate, but she suddenly changed the subject. "But you were so ungrateful back then. You actually dared to reject me. Otherwise, I wouldn't have broken off the engagement. Hmph, Oliver, you really are something."
He was instantly at a loss for words.
She was bringing up old grievances way too quickly.
"Let's not bring up those unhappy things." Oliver leaned down and kissed her forehead.
Nicole snorted and snuggled deeper into his embrace.
He ruffled her hair, pulling her close and wrapping his legs around her waist.
"Want to get up?" His voice carried a hint of sleepiness.
"No, I want to stay in your arms a little longer." She savored the warmth radiating from his body.
She reached out and ran her hand over his chest
"Satisfied?" he asked, looking down at her.
"Hmm, it's okay," she said, smiling.
He frowned and deliberately tensed his muscles.
"Hmm?" She squeezed them.
So hard.
She looked up and met his eyes, which held a hint of aggression.
"It's okay?" He pressed on.
Unable to break free from his grip on her wrist, Nicole could only look away. "No... I mean..."
"Say it again." He had no intention of letting it go.
Nicole tucked her chin into his chest and mumbled, "You're pretty good."
"Pretty good?"
Her ears turned red. "I've never tried it with anyone else. How am I supposed to know if that's good or not?"
He released her wrist, lifted her chin, and lowered his voice. "So, did you enjoy yourself last night?"
His question made her face flush.
She pushed his hand away and looked away.
"Answer me." He leaned in closer.
Seeing that she hadn't replied, he pressed further. "Dr. Nicole?"
"I want to get up." She tried to push herself up, but he was still pinning her legs down.
He smiled and lowered his voice. "Looks like we'll have to do this a few more times, hmm?"
She froze.
"Last night...it was pretty good," she murmured.
He smiled, clearly satisfied with that answer.
"Can you touch somewhere else?" He grabbed her hand and guided it downward.
She touched it, then pulled back.
He didn't let go, holding her hand firmly in place.
She could feel it throb in the palm of her hand—hard and hot, its warmth palpable even through the fabric.
"Touch it," he said in a low voice, his breath brushing against her earlobe.
