Something Strange
Juilian
I walked into the clinic with Raven by my side. She didn't look at me like I was a monster, which shocked me. Most women and men looked at me like I needed to be put down. When they asked me about my life, I really had little answers to give them. My mind was a jumble of things and every time I tried to grasp something from my past it would vanish before I would get a full thought. I can recall things, but not from the past. Which meant I can't recall my family, how I came to be like this. Elysium seemed nice enough, but I didn't think she would find anything that would change who and what I was. I also knew that vampires looked down on werewolves. Though I didn't think I was a werewolf, none that I had encountered had ever seen something like me. So I would guess that I was cursed. The clinic was quiet which seemed a bit off as it was a medical facility. Maybe it was because it was for the super naturals in the area. Each room had people in them all working on computers, or doing labs. No idea who's they would be working on seeing as no one was here. Maybe it was more a lab then a clinic. That thought made me shiver as we walked. Raven was at ease in this place, but I wasn't.
An elevator bank was to the right as we walked down the hall. On the left was another hall that we turned down. A large room with a radiation sign on it told me we had made it to the X-ray machine. I couldn't recall having an xray in my life. When she asked Raven to step out I thought they would come to blows. Instead Raven stepped out of the room closing the door behind her. I looked at the doctor and wondered what she was thinking. It couldn't be great seeing as she didn't look at me for more than a few moments.
"Alright, lets get you on the table. It might be a problem though with how tall you are." Elysium came over to me putting her hand on mine and I flinched. "Oh don't worry, it won't hurt."
I didn't know what to think with how nice she was being. I had never run into a group of people that didn't seem to care what I looked like. Most of the time I felt like a beast and hide from everyone. Raven had been the frist in a long time that I talked to. I even sent her text, which was hard seeing as my hands didn't work like human hands. I snapped back to the room when her hand left mine. The table was small but I thought I would be able to lay down. It took me a few moments but I found a way to get on the table. Elysium explained different ways to lay so she could take xrays. When she had all the ones she needed she had me stand up to take chest and other xrays. I felt like it took forever but it was only around half an hour. Then we walked out of the room to go back down the hall to another door that sad lab on it. When she entered the room all of the people inside smiled waved or said hi. In that moment I knew that she was the head person here. Once we went into another room she closed the door as Raven stood by the far wall. I didn't think it was right for her to be in the room when she took my blood. Raven however wasn't budging.
"Put your arm out so I can see if I can find a vein." Elysium spoke to me in a low voice. Never letting anything show in her tone.
I sat in the chair putting my arm out. The moment she touched my arm I wanted to run. I feared what she might or might not find in my blood. Raven moved to hold my other hand. I feared that my claws would harm her, but so far nothing. Elysium spoke to me about what she would do before she did it. When the needle slide into my arm I growled. It didn't even seem to phaze her that I growled. The needle slipped back out as she put a cotton ball on the wound that I didn't really need. It healed by the time she took the cotton off. The moment she saw it she smiled brightly.
"That would come in handy if you got really hurt." Elysium took the veils out of the room then came back a moment later. "Alright that should do for now, I might want a MRI at one point. The next step is to check the xrays and blood work looked at. After that we can see what is happening. If you can try and remeber things. Maybe if you carry a notebook around to put down any thing you recall. Even if it is just a color or bird."
Elysium showed us out of the building turning to go back to the clinc. Raven stood beside me waiting to see what I would do. In truth I just wanted to sleep. We walked to her house not saying a word to each other. It was times like this that I was happy she didn't prey. The trip here had almost killed me, humans didn't understand me. The super natural side didn't care either, but they just looked away like I was the shame of them all. It bothered me but I tried not to show it. Once we walked onto the lands her parents owned I knew it, I felt something change in the air around me. I looked at Raven and noticed that she didn't notice the change. Maybe someone had put the ward up without telling them. It could be linked to their blood.
"Did you know that the land is warded?" I asked as we kept walking.
"I didn't, sure mom and dad did thought." Raven didn't seem to miss a beat.
"It doesn't bother you that it is here?" I worried that it would bring someone to kill me.
"No, this area is a coven of sorts. We have witches, vampires, werewolves and more." Raven told me off handed as we stopped by the house.
"Oh." I looked at her then to the house. I couldn't stay here though. I knew that much because it was her home not mine. "Get some sleep."
Leaning in I wanted to kiss her fore head but I couldn't. The way my face was transformed I could never kiss her. Nor could we do more than hug or hold hands. The need and want to be with her over powered my own instinct that it would be the death of one of us. I had tried so hard to stay away, to let her go when she came home. Only a few hours and I was on my way to find her.
