Happy After All

Happy After All
Natalia

As all things go, it starts with death and normally would end with it. With the death of the man who had been hunting us to either twist our natures or kill us, we still didn't know for sure if the curse was gone. So we had taken the time to wait it out for a while longer. By the time the weather started to turn cooler, we all started to let down our shields. Time can be so tricky when it came to magic. I had wanted to go to Nattack to check out her new stuff. I feared that something would happen, so I stuck to the house. Everyone seemed to be thinking the same, sticking to the house. Almost three months later, Sadie had found out from the High Priestess about the curse.

"She said that the curse would have died with the person. No matter the creature, it would die once the host died. She did say that we had to keep on eye on Marcus and Lucien. It is possible that it could find a home in them." Sadie told me over the phone.

"I sure hope that isn't going to happen. Thanks, Sadie." I smiled but felt like something was going to happen. When I hung up the phone, I let everyone else know what was said.

We kept an eye on the two men, and found that they seemed perfectly fine. After a month, we sat in the living room looking at the Christmas tree. The light sparkling in the dark room. I had always loved to look at Christmas trees, seemed so happy to just look at the decor. I looked up when Raven and Marcus entered the room. So he had finally asked her to marry him. I smiled brightly at them.

"Show me." I told her with a bright smile.

"What?" Raven looked confused when I said it.

"Raven, I am not blind. Show me the ring." I told her when I looked at her hand.

When she lifted her hand, she showed me a diamond that wasn't the center stone. Instead, it had a blood-red stone in the center with diamonds around it. It wasn't a large ring, which was good because Raven was a small woman. It looked to be platinum with gold entwined with the red stone. It fit her, and I was glad that he took my advice on the stones. I was happy for her and Marcus. They were a great match. When Lucien entered a few moments later, I smiled brightly.

"Raven, it is beautiful, congratulations." I pulled her into a hug. "Lucien, I figured you wouldn't be here till later."

"I wanted to be with family today, so I came over after Sadie went to the coven." Lucien told me with a bright smile.

I figured that the two would marry soon as well. It was the happy family I had always wanted. Draven looked between them with a smile on his face. Marcus looked worried that I might kill him for touching my daughter. I would have laughed if it hadn't been true.

"Marcus, all I have to say is if you hurt her. I will bury you." I told him, seeing fear in his eyes.

"Mom, really?" Raven glared but smiled as she sat on the couch with Marcus. "So Lucien, are you going to ask Sadie?"

"Ask her what?" Lucien knew damn good and well what Raven was talking about.

"To marry you." Raven told him as she swatted at his shoulder.

"We aren't there yet, if ever. Friends for now and maybe a couple later. I don't want to rush into anything. She is a good friend, and I am not sure if she even likes me like that." Lucien sighed as he looked at the floor.

"Lucien, you have only to look into my eyes to know the truth." Sadie said from the door frame.

"Sadie, you said you had to go to the coven." Lucien stood to walk over to her. "I don't want to go too fast."

"I did go to the coven. I found out the answers I wanted and come here." She smiled brightly up at him.

I knew what she was going to say, we had talked a few days ago. I also knew that Lucien would never get to the step they wanted to be on. When she pulled a small box out of her pocket, he froze looking at her like she had grown a second head. I heard Raven gasp, then smile brightly at her twin. Sadie held the box between them with a bright smile.

"Lucien I know that you like to take things slow, but at this moment and after everything that we have gone through I think we are right where we should be. I would love to marry you, if you would just ask." Sadie handed the ring to him.

"Sadie..." Lucien took the ring, then looked at me and his Dad. We both nodded as he turned back to Sadie. He went to one knee and finally asked. "Sadie, would you marry me?"

"Yes, I would love to marry you." Sadie said as he slid the ring onto her finger.

We all smiled and cheered as kissed. I couldn't help but cry at the show of love. Both my kids had found love, and I couldn't really ask for anything else. Draven pulled me close to him, kissing the top of my head. Things had finally found a happy that we could all live with. The twins would have great people in their lives. We had to plan two weddings, and I was overjoyed by it all. Raven video called mom, letting her know that they were both engaged to marry. She was happy to hear they would both be happy.

Christmas day dawned, and we all came into the living room. We would wait for Sadie to come over to do the gifts. So we took the time with each other about what was going on in our lives. Sadie showed up around ten to do gifts with us. Draven had gotten me a new dress that I was sure Ceri had made. That little brat didn't tell me about this dress style. I had found a first edition of Poe to gift to Draven. We both had a love for Edgar Allen Poe. Edgar had been gifted a bird stand for the living room, it was a piece of drift wood that he could perch on. He was overjoyed by it and landed on it right away.

"I didn't expect to get a gift." Edgar cawed, and it sounded almost like he was crying.

As the days moved on, we all found that we had found a great place to live. A community of people that always helped each other. It would grow over the years as word got out in the supernatural community.
