Chapter 202 202
"What do you think you're doing sitting in the bush watching us?" I demanded.
"You are close to our encampment, who are you and why are you here?" One of the men asked. I laughed at him.
"Are you blind or just not educated? We are rouges making our way to a warmer climate for the winter. Who might you be? You don't smell like rouges to me," I asked. I had a feeling we found what we were looking for. While I talked to the two men Nigel linked our contact that we had found the compound and had made contact more to follow in the morning. He told me in a link after he had done it.
"You guys looking to make some good money?" The other man said.
I inner laced my fingers and cracked all my knuckles at the same time. Kyle winced he hated when I did that.
"Depends on what and how much. Supplies are running low," I said. Not letting them near the fire or our food.
"Two miles south you will find our encampment, come there in the morning. Our Alpha is looking for strong rouges to help him." The first man said.
"Who shall I say invited us to this encampment?" I asked.
"Miller and Ren," the first man said.
"We will talk about it, now leave us in peace or you will be cooking on the spit instead of the rabbits. Been a while since I had a good feed of wolf." I said in an agitated tone. They both took off like little mice into to bush. We had a good laugh. I would take watch for the night in case they decided to come back.
I had the coffee going when Nigel and Kyle woke up.
"Did you sleep any?" Nigel asked.
"I got a couple hours; I will sleep later. Let's have our coffee and jerky then head over to this encampment." I said to them.
A few hours later we came out of the woods into a clearing. There were makeshift buildings, campers, and tents. A warrior saw us and called over a couple others.
"Stop right there, who are you and what do you want?" he asked.
"Where is Miller and Ren?" I asked ignoring his questions.
"Who wants to know?" He asked.
"Hey, we don't need this shit we got asked to come here last night by Miller and Ren, but we don't need work that bad." I said and turned to walk away. One of the guys from last nights visit came running over.
"You know these guys Miller?" The warrior asked.
"We found them last night camping a few miles from here, you Alpha said he wanted more rouges, so I invited them to come see him." Miller said.
"I will get Alpha Brent; you guys watch them." The warrior said. He cane back five minutes later with Alpha Brent and Nash was with him plus a couple of rouges we had hung out with fir a while.
"Alpha Brent, I found these rouges last night while on patrol. I suggested they come and see you." Miller said. Nash was looking at us.
"Have I met you three before," Nash asked.
"Hey, were you not at that pack that helped us out when Kyle got his leg almost ripped off?" I asked him.
"You guys were in the rouge camp there for a while, where is the woman you were with?" He asked.
"Ah you know women, we got tired of having her around we took off leaving her there to make her own way. They can become to much of a burden and nag to much." I said.
One of the rouges came closer and recognized me.
"I be dammed, Roman is that really you, old man?" He asked.
"What is going on here Trigger?" I asked.
"You can vouch for these guys Trigger?" Alpha Brent asked.
"Hell yah, Roman is one bad ass, he is one of the tough bastard." Trigger said.
"Ok you guys are in, I provide breakfast and dinner. You help out around here you get paid We have a big fight coming. There is a pack that is growing and their goal is to destroy all werewolf packs. They must be stopped. " Alpha Brent told us. .
"I think we can handle that I said cracking my knuckles again. We were shown to a spot we could camp. I sent a link to the scout that we were in. Will update as soon as we got more information. We set up camp and started to get head count and sent word they had three witches to fight Luna Loria and Raven's mom Clare. We set up camp near our old rouge friends. Now that the three of us could mind link it was easier to talk among ourselves.
RAVEN'S POV
Bre had been very quiet all morning. She had not told me yet she found her mate so I could not tell her I knew. When William had gone down for his nap I asked her to join me for a cup of coffee. When she brought the coffee in and showed me where mine was she sat in one on the large chairs.
"Bre, what has you so quiet today?" I asked her.
"Raven, I'm torn, I don't know what to do," she said.
"To do about?" I asked. I heard her take a deep breath.
"I found my mate," she said.
"That is wonderful new, I'm so happy for you," I told her very excitedly.
"But that’s the problem, Raven," Bre said.
"I'm confused Bre, how is that a problem?" I asked her.
"Because eventually I will have to stop being here for you all the time," she said starting to cry.
"Well yes but not today or tomorrow or even next week, that is a while off. We can find someone to replace you, and you can train them. Though they will never be you because you're perfect it will work out. Our children can grow up together." I said trying to believe we could really train someone.
"We can hang out as friends?" She asked.
"Like sisters," I corrected.
"I think of you like that too," Bre said. I could feel the relief in her voice. We sat and talked about her and Marcus for a while. I told her that we would have a big mating ceremony in the ballroom. She tried to protest but I got my way.
"Where has your mom been the past few days?" Bre asked.
"She has been with Luna Loria. I'm lucky if I see her once in a day. But they have a lot of catching up to do." I told her.
"Maybe your mom could help?" Bre suggested.
"I don't her to feel obligated, she is nan not an assistant. We will find someone, don't worry" I told her.
