Chapter 18 CHAPTER 18
"Hawk, I received this today. I thought you should know. He passed me the paper it had Raven's picture on it she looked amazing. Then I read the paper.
Wanted, dead or alive. Name of this woman is unknown. We do know she has been seen working with the Rouge King. And is responsible for the death of six pack members of the flat foot pack. Approach with caution. Reward five thousand dollars.
"Alpha this can't be true she would never hurt anyone." I said.
"I would not know that son, she ran from you. She went rouge. We have no idea what has happened to her in the last year. You can keep that. I will say if asked I never received it. But she has a target on her back even if she did nothing it is to dangerous to bring her here if we do find her. Do you understand hawk?"
Yes, Alpha for letting me know. If I may be excused." I said.
"Take a couple of days off with pay. Get your emotions under control. I'm very sorry son."
I nodded and went back to my cabin and locked myself in my room. I staired at the picture and cried.
"Raven, what have you done?" I asked the picture. She looks so grown up so beautiful. I pulled out my phone and called Joe.
"Hawk, how you are doing?" He asked when he answered the phone.
"Ecstatic, sad." I told him.
"What’s going on?" Joe asked.
"Did you see it Joe,?" I asked
"See what Hawk?" He asked.
"Raven is alive." I said.
"How do you know?" Joe asked. I sent him a picture of the wanted poster.
"Damit, Hawk, what has she got herself into?" He asked.
"You read it, I don't believe it though I can't see her purposely killing someone." I said.
"She went rouge Hawk, if she is mixed up the Rough King. It is possible." Joe said but I could hear the pain in his voice.
"How do we get her back Joe? I need her back. I questioned him my heart breaking.
"Hawk, listen to me, we don't get her back we can't she would never come. We have to accept she is lost to us now, especially if she is working with the Rouge King." I could hear the sadness in his voice.
"I have to go Hawk take care of Clare. Forget about Raven. He said now I could tell he was crying. He hung up. No, I would not believe Raven was responsible she didn't have her wolf yet or did she. No! No! No! She didn't do it I knew her. I threw the paper on the bed beside me. Put my face in my hands and cried. There was a knock at the door, but I ignored it. They knocked louder; I didn't want to talk to anyone. But the person would not go away. Finally, the door opened Clare came in and closed and locked the door.
"Hawk, why did you not answer the door? Why are you crying? What has happened?" She asked coming to my bed. She saw the paper and picked it up and read it.
"No, this is a lie," she said starting to cry. I pulled her onto my lap and held her close.
"Tell me it is not true, Hawk." She begged.
"I can't Clare it is a possibility, she has been gone well over a year Clare, she is a rouge now." I said threw my tears. Clare clung to me crying on my shoulder as she sat on my lap. Her scent hit my nose she smelled like a bouquet of roses and lilies. I gently kissed her neck down to her shoulder. She arched he back exposing the top of her breasts. She put her hands in my hair and moaned. I turned her so her legs were on either side of my lap then pulled her head towards me crushing my lips on hers. She responded to my kiss, grinding herself on the bulge in my pants. I looked her in the eyes as I undid her top. She just mound. We spent the whole afternoon making love. Needing each other.
The bell ran that dinner was ready. Clare sat up. I did not go to work today. I will be in so much trouble. She said. I realized what we had done. I had Promised not to take her until our matting ceremony but here we were. Clare got up and dressed quickly and ran out blowing me a kiss smiling. I felt like a heal. I loved Clare she was my mate. But my grief over Raven drove me to take her. It should have been all about Clare and not because I was grieving Raven. I would have to find a way to make it up to her. I picked up the paper that had been discarded on the floor looked at the picture of Raven one last time. Folded it and put it under my pillow. I dressed and went to the main hall for coffee.
RAVEN'S POV
It had been six months, and we had been chased from the one place we had set up camp. Roman said it would never had happen if it was just us five. Imara hardly came over to see us she was always on Talon’s arm barking out orders to his people. We took care of ourselves, hunting cooking getting supplies. They did not bother us we did not bother them. I thought about just moving on by myself. But decided to stay a couple more weeks then if 'Miss Queen bee', was still playing house with Talon I would move on. I told the guys that I would go get fish for dinner. They had not been letting me do anything. The river was only a couple miles away and it would not take me long to get a few fish. They reluctantly let me go. They never saw the two guys that got up from the other group and followed me. I stood by the river singing as the fish came to me. I had four and decided to get an extra Roman I was sure could use some extra.
I got the last fish and put it in the pail. I could feeling I was being watched. Why had I not paid more attention. As I got to the top of the riverbank two rouges stood blocking my path.
"Excuse me please," I said. And tried to go around them. They blocked me again.
"Nice fishing," the taller one said. But I ignored them.
"We have been waiting for you to get away from those guys." He said. The other one smiling showing his rotting teeth.
"If you will excuse me please i have to start dinner." I said nicely. But they did not move
Spirit growled at them. They just laughed. The tall one grabbed my arm causing me to drop the bucket.
"If you want the fish take them." I told them.
