Chapter 119
Alex
Leo was starting to get on Alex’s nerves. He’d been in a foul mood all day long. They were finally on the training pitch, one of Alex’s favorite places in the whole wide world, and Leo was belly aching, again.

nstead of focusing on sparring, Leo spent all of his time watching Wendi jog around the track as part of her warrior training. He kept whining and whimpering as her body bounced. He sounded like a love-starved teenager in heat. It wasn’t like Leo was the only one hyper-aware of their mate. He could hear every one of her footsteps, and every time she made the smallest grunt or sigh. It was nearly impossible to ignore her ragged breathing and how much it reminded him of the noises she made when he pleasured her.
The most frustrating thing was, it wasn't like Leo hadn't been with her today. As a matter of fact, he'd been with her since Alex had. He couldn't figure out what his brother's problem was. He’d been acting strange ever since they had made love to her that morning. He just kept shooting him dirty looks and muttering under his breath.
Alex considered that this was a matter of jealousy but that seemed out of place considering Leo had been the one cutting in on his alone time with Wendi, not the other way around. Technically they had agreed that her first time should be a shared experience and technically they had moved on to after-care, but Leo still managed to nut during something that they had both agreed belonged to him.
Leo was dropping punches, and his footwork was sloppy. It was like watching a toddler train. Alex was at the end of his rope when he placed a well aimed kick and knocked Leo’s feet out from under him. The distracted oaf dropped to his knees with a thud.
“What is your problem?” Leo snapped and he got to his feet.
“I could ask you the same thing.” Alex said as he returned to his fighting stance and waited for his bother to get his head in the game. “You’re grouchy and distracted.”
“It looks like my problem is you.” Leo said as he took a swing at Alex’s jaw. He was snarling and Alex could see he was straining against his wolf.
“How do figure I’m the problem? You’re the one walking around pouting and ducking out on your training.” Alex growled. He was trying to keep his cool but he was getting madder by the moment.
Leo went in for a kick but quickly changed into a punch that caught Alex in the ribs. It temporarily winded Alex but Leo kept shouting. “Shut up, why can’t you just stay out of my way!”
“I’m not in your way. If you are talking about Wendi, I wasn’t the one cutting line this morning!” Alex snarled as he caught Leo’s chin with a uppercut.
They were beginning to circle each other at this point. Both of them kicking and punching as they went. Alex's fury was getting the better of him.
“You really are an ass. You think I would ever do anything against our mate. I love her!” Leo said as Alex dodged a sloppy roundhouse.
“
So do I!?!” Alex said has he stopped dead in his tracks and stared at his brother. He couldn't believe Leo would insinuate that he didn't love Wendi. His whole life revolved around her.
“Then why don’t you ever tell her?” Leo stepped towards Alex while snapping his teeth.
“What are you talking about? She knows I love her.” Alex said as he dodged another swing form Leo and caught his brother’s rib with a stiff punch.
“Has it ever occurred to you that she needs you to say it?” This time Leo stopped and put his hands on his hips.
“Stop trying to butt in on me and Wendi, I don’t need your help!” Alex yelled back.
Leo’s chest was rising and falling hard as he worked to keep from shifting. It had been a long time since Alex had seen him this angry.
“This morning, she was scared and vulnerable. She told you she loved you, and you couldn't even say it back to her. You don't deserve her.” Leo yelled as he came charging at Alex, with his claws flying.
Their bodies collided into each other as they toppled to the ground. Both were punching and snarling as they rolled back and forth on the ground like children. They were pretty evenly match and some of the punches that landed would leave them both bruised tomorrow.
“STOP IT!” Wendi screamed. Her voice sounded terrified, and tears were streaming down her face.
Alex heard her voice and he immediately froze. Leo stopped mid punch and let go of Alex's hair. The rolled away from each other and jumped to their feet
They ran to Wendi’s side but she held her hand up to stop them. Charlotte wrapped her arms around Wendi and pulled her in for a hug. She glared at the Twins over Wendi's head.
Kami glared at them and stomped her feet. “What the hell do you think you're doing? Don't you know you can't hurt each other, without hurting her. You should be ashamed!”
Alex immediately dropped to his knees. He felt his brother do the same. “I’m so sorry Enaid, I am so sorry.” he said.
Leo crawled across the dirt and lay his head against her hip. He was silent until she finally reached down and wrapped her arms around him. He stood up and let her cry and his shoulder. “Please, I can’t watch you hurt each other. Please,” she sobbed.
“I'm sorry Cariad, It won’t happen again. Please don’t cry.” Leo begged. Alex ran to them and threw his arms around Wendi as Leo also clung to her.
“I can't believe you spent all afternoon making treats for these boneheads, and then they come over here and act like five-year-olds.” Kami said. “I say we put them in time out, and head for the mall already.” She was clearly pissed and Alex found himself turning slightly so he could keep an eye on her.
Leo look down at Wendi with the excitement of a small child. Alex could almost see his tail wagging. “You made us treats?”
Wendi wiped her eyes. “I made you cookies. I had planned to surprise you after training and before I went shopping.” She walked over to a backpack on the bleachers that he hadn’t noticed before. She reached in and pulled out two clear cellophane bags that were tied up in ribbons.
Leo practically bounced over to her with his hands opening and closing. “You made me cookies! I can’t believe you made me cookies!” She handed him the bag with a smile. He sniffed the bag and his eyes lit up. “Peanut butter, she made me peanut butter cookies!”
Alex was trying not to laugh. Sometimes his brother was just embarrassing. Sure, Alex was super excited about the cookies, he just felt he had acted like enough of an idiot for the time being.
