Chapter 97 Crossed Currents
Chapter 97 Crossed Currents
ROSEMARY
The weight of two weeks left had started to feel like it was a second skin - tight, constricting, and impossible to ignore.
I moved through the penthouse in the early morning light, the city below still waking up. It felt like my mind would not and could not stay quiet.
It darted back and forth between the unknown texter’s messages, Julian’s half-truths and the growing certainty that the night the contract began had been orchestrated from the start. I could not keep carrying it alone.
Nyra found me like in this state - feeling restless, exhausted, and unraveling at the edges.
“You really need a break from all this,” she said, grabbing my shoulders and giving me a mock massage.
“And I need an excuse to get out of Paris for a few days. Justin’s flying me to the U.S. for some ‘urgent family matter’ that he still would not fully explain to me. Would you do us the honor of coming with us?”
I shook my head.
“I wish I could, but I can't. Now just does not feel like the time. But you should go. Use the trip to dig and snoop around if you can. Find out whatever Justin knows about Mario’s real endgame.”
Nyra’s eyes sparkled with both mischief and concern.
“I’ll bring back answers. And maybe a few bruises in interesting places.”
I managed to offer her a tired laugh in response and hugged her tightly.
"Be safe. And tell Justin to be safe … tell him I’m counting on him to keep you safe too.”
NYRA
The private jet to New York felt like I was stepping into another world.
Justin had been whispering filthy promises to me for days - dirty little texts he would send to me at the most unexpected moments, heated glances and faces across rooms, and the kind of slow burn tension that left me wet and restless.
By the time we landed and reached his sleek Manhattan apartment, I was done waiting. My body was humming in anticipation of all I wanted to do to him. The moment the door closed, I shoved him against it.
“Five minutes was not enough for me last time,” I said, dropping to my knees right there in the foyer.
“I want all of you. Right now.”
Justin’s breath hitched as I yanked his belt open. When I freed his cock - it was long, thick, and gloriously hard for the first time in full view - my mouth watered again.
I had not realized just how impressive he was when I had been on my knees before. I took him deep immediately, sucking with hungry abandon, my tongue swirling around the head as he groaned above me, his fingers threading through my hair.
“Fuck ... Fuck ... Nyra,” he gasped, his hips twitching.
“You’re going to kill me. You're ... fuck ...”
I worked him relentlessly, taking him as deep and as fast as I could, until he spilled his cum down my throat with a loud and guttural moan. I paused at first as I was not expecting it, but then swallowed every drop, feeling filthy and empowered all at once.
When I pulled back, wiping my lips, I grinned up at him.
“All of those romance books and dirty magazines I found hidden in the Laurent library finally came in handy.”
Justin laughed breathlessly, pulling me up and kissing me hard.
"Okay now, it's my turn to show you what I learned from my own dirty magazines.”
He carried me to the bedroom, stripping me bare before laying me down. When he finally pushed inside me - long, deep strokes that filled me completely - I cried out, my legs wrapping around his waist.
He fucked me with passionate intensity, whispering filthy praise against my ear, his hands gripping my thighs as he drove deeper.
We came together in a shattering release, our bodies locked and our breathing ragged.
Afterwards, as we lay tangled in the sheets, I traced lazy patterns on his chest.
“This does feel a little weird,” I admitted softly.
“Julian’s with Rosemary. Now I’m with you. It’s like we’re all tangled in the same messy web.”
Justin shushed me with a deep kiss.
“Stop thinking. Just feel this.”
ROSEMARY
Back in Paris, the silence in the penthouse was even more deafening than before.
I paced the living room with a wine glass in my hand, and with my thoughts spiraling.
I thought about Julian’s refusal to be fully honest along with the unknown texter’s warnings. I also thought about the growing certainty that the night the contract began had been orchestrated from the start.
When Julian finally returned from whatever mysterious errand had kept him out, I did not give him time to settle.
“Tell me the truth about the night the contract began,” I demanded, my voice steady but edged with exhaustion.
“I do not want any more half answers, Julian. No more deflections. Tell me ... what really happened that night, Julian?”
He froze in the doorway, the weight of two weeks left hanging between us like it was a guillotine blade.
The storm was definitely coming.
And this time, I was not sure if either of us would survive it intact.
