Chapter 180: The Grand Finale
Chapter 180: The Grand Finale
He had also brought up, intentionally or unintentionally, many times that he wanted to start over with Ella.
But until now, Ella still hadn't given him a clear answer. Austin, who was always calm and composed, felt anxious all day long, like an abandoned child.
"Ella, please, just forgive me, okay? Can we start over? How many times do I have to say it before you'll agree?"
Ella felt like her ears were getting calluses. She said coldly.
"Shut up! I'm telling you, if you keep nagging, I'm leaving right now!"
Austin could only obediently shut his mouth, looking unsatisfied and a bit pitiful.
Every time Ella saw him like this, she felt quite happy inside.
Austin has his day, too? As for whether the two of them would get back together? Ella decided to just let things take their natural course.
After going through all these things, Ella had figured some things out and was no longer stuck in hatred.
Judith was charged with murder and several other crimes, with solid evidence.
Later, some of Ella's previous suspicions were also confirmed.
According to the police investigation, the arson case and bribing Xavier to make Ella lose her baby were both done by Judith.
With all these charges combined, Judith would most likely face life imprisonment.
During this time, Judith refused to accept the verdict and tried to appeal, but was rejected.
Judith had the authorities call Ella, saying she wanted to see her and had something to say.
Ella agreed because she wanted to see Judith's miserable end.
At this point, what else could Judith possibly have to say?
Austin was worried and tried to stop Ella.
"Ella, don't go see that evil woman. Whether she lives or dies has nothing to do with us. Why go see her and add to your troubles?"
"No, I think I need to go see her, to see her end up like this. It's so satisfying!" Ella said firmly.
Austin was still worried, afraid there might be some conspiracy. He insisted on sending two bodyguards to go with Ella.
Ella couldn't argue with him and had to agree, but she was also questioning Austin's motives.
"Are you having me followed? Worried I won't come back?"
Austin didn't expect Ella to see through his little scheme, but he still pretended to be calm and stubbornly said.
"Of course not! Don't you trust me? I believe you can't bear to leave me either, Ella!"
"Stop being so full of yourself! If you keep talking nonsense, I really won't come back!" Ella rolled her eyes.
"Okay, okay! I'll listen to you! I'm just worried about you. Let the bodyguards go with you."
Ella knew that even if she didn't agree, she couldn't stop Austin from having someone secretly follow her.
In that case, she might as well just let him have his way.
After several months, when Ella saw Judith again, she almost didn't recognize her.
Through the thick bulletproof glass, Ella saw that Judith's hair at the temples had turned somewhat white. Her face was terribly haggard, and she was so thin she was just skin and bones.
It was as if she had aged more than ten years in just a few months. She was completely different from the beautiful and charming Judith before.
Only those eyes full of gloom hadn't changed at all. In fact, the hatred in them had grown even deeper.
Ella sat down, looking calmly at Judith across from her, and reached for the phone beside her.
Judith's voice came through immediately, somewhat hoarse.
"Ella, you must be feeling pretty smug, right? Seeing me like this, you must be thrilled?"
"Yes, I am quite happy. You got what you deserved. It's all your own fault!"
"Everything I'm going through now is all thanks to you. Ella, rest assured, I won't let you go even if I die!"
"Great! I guess you won't have that chance in this lifetime!" Ella's eyes were full of sarcasm.
Judith glared at Ella viciously, wishing she could pounce on her and tear her apart.
"You made my mother go to prison, and you ruined me. You won't have a good ending!"
"Whether I'll have a good ending or not, I don't know, but you certainly won't!" A cold smile appeared at the corner of Ella's mouth.
"By the way, let me tell you, your father is dead. What a bargain for him! He should have suffered for a few more years and died in agony!"
When Judith heard that John was dead, her expression froze instantly, then she laughed coldly.
"Good that he's dead! Death ends everything! At least he's free now!"
Actually, for a selfish person like Judith, after taking care of John for a while and then being harmed by him and imprisoned by those debt collectors, she had long hated him to the core.
Thinking of this, Judith's eyes were full of hatred as she questioned Ella.
"Ella, you're the person I hate most in this world. You destroyed everything I had!"
"When those people imprisoned me, I had them go to you for money. Why didn't you give it?"
"Do you know? I was raped by those people every day. Those filthy men of all kinds tortured me until I wished I was dead."
"The only thing that kept me alive was the thought that I would get out and get revenge on you. I wanted to kill you!"
"I was so close, so close to succeeding! Austin actually risked his life for you? Why didn't I just run you over and kill you!"
She got more and more agitated, more and more angry, yelling at Ella with red eyes, hysterically.
Seeing her emotions getting out of control, the guards quickly came over to stop her. The visiting time was also up.
Ella just watched as Judith was taken away. As she left, Judith turned her head to look at Ella, her eyes full of gloom and unwillingness.
Not long after Ella's visit to Judith, she heard that Judith had fallen seriously ill.
She seemed to have suffered a great shock and was now mentally unstable. She had been sent to a psychiatric hospital for medical treatment outside prison.
When Austin learned this news, he felt no pity and said coldly.
"She got what she deserved! Anyway, she'll never leave prison in this lifetime."
Ella also felt that Judith had gotten her comeuppance. Letting her die easily would be too good for her. Letting her live and suffer was also a kind of punishment!
But Judith's last look still remained fresh in Ella's memory.
Austin stayed in the hospital for a full six months, and Ella stayed with him for six months.
The day he was discharged, the sun was shining bright.
Ella and Austin got out of the car and returned to the home they had been away from for so long.
Ella stood at the door, looking at everything familiar here, feeling like what had happened before was from another lifetime, as if she had experienced a dream.
Austin reached out and put his arm around Ella's waist, looking at her sideways, his eyes full of tenderness.
Suddenly, Ella's phone in her pocket buzzed with a notification.
She took out her phone, and the moment she opened the message, her face instantly darkened.
A message from an unknown number with only one line: Ella, the show has just begun!
