Chapter 168 Different Fates
Chapter 168 Different Fates
Judith felt like her whole world was falling apart. She had no choice but to take time off to look after John.
John's condition wasn't improving. The doctor determined that he would probably be bedridden and paralyzed for the rest of his life.
Judith felt her life was completely ruined. She could only move into a small rented apartment.
Accustomed to a life of luxury, Judith looked at the cramped, tiny rental place - this was a life she had never imagined.
Judith had been pampered since childhood, living in complete comfort, never having suffered even a bit.
Finally moving all her things into this rental, she constantly felt the place was cramped and damp, with the smell of mold and sewage coming through from time to time.
"She collapsed onto the couch in defeat, and pulled out her phone to scroll.
Suddenly, a recommended news article popped up on her phone. Judith quickly clicked on it.
The headline was really eye-catching.
"Former child prodigy Phoenix achieves new research breakthrough."
Scrolling down, there was a very prominent photo.
In the photo, Ella held a trophy in one hand and a patent certificate in the other, her face showing a confident smile.
Below were countless praises, everyone looking forward to Ella's research results going into production.
Ella's AI project would become a major breakthrough in the tech world.
Tech companies from around the world were interested in partnering with Ella.
Ella's Diamond Tech Solutions had become famous overnight, creating another miracle in the tech industry.
Seeing this, Judith felt the raging fire in her heart was about to consume her.
She angrily smashed the cup on the coffee table to pieces.
"Why? Ella, you bitch, why do you get everything you want!"
"Everything you have should be mine, should all be mine!"
Judith's eyes were full of madness as she screamed hysterically.
Just then, her phone received another message.
Judith glanced at it and completely broke down.
It was actually a message from the HR department at Quantum Tech.
Judith had disregarded company rules and regulations, taken leave repeatedly, made major mistakes at work, and caused significant financial losses to the company.
Quantum Tech had decided to fire Judith and would pursue financial compensation from her.
At this moment, Judith felt her world had truly collapsed. At least she had still had a stable job.
Now she had nothing and faced huge compensation payments.
Thinking of this, she quickly pulled out her phone and called Royce.
Soon came Royce's cold voice.
"Mr. Castillo, this is Judith. I'm begging you, please don't fire me. I really didn't mean it. You know my family has been going through things lately."
"Judith, honestly, I've been more than fair to you. Your Blue Lantern project - the company invested huge amounts of money with very little return."
"I was hoping you could develop new projects, but your project progress kept stalling, causing major losses to my company."
"If it weren't for you, how could elite talents like Ella and Jason have possibly resigned and left Quantum Tech?"
"Honestly, you're just a useless decoration with no real skills. You may package yourself well, but you're actually worthless."
"If it weren't for Austin being able to invest in our company before, I would have fired you long ago."
Before Judith could offer any other explanation, Royce ended the call.
Honestly, Royce had been holding back anger, always feeling he'd lost two geese that laid golden eggs.
Looking at Ella and Jason now, they were doing incredibly well.
A startup company had already become a top player in the industry.
This was all because Ella had real talent. If he could have kept Ella at Quantum Tech,
Quantum Tech's market value would have multiplied several times by now.
Instead, now that he wanted to work with Ella, he had to put on a smile and grovel.
Judith looked at her phone showing the ended call, her hand dropping limply, the phone falling to the floor.
She stared ahead with empty eyes. Judith felt like this was all a dream.
How nice it would be if this were a dream? She could quickly wake up from this nightmare.
But she knew clearly in her heart that this wasn't a dream. Her life was completely ruined.
She had even lost her last job. With this firing on her record, finding work in the future, probably no company would hire her.
Ella had been in great spirits lately. Her newly developed project had won new patents and awards.
The company was thriving and had reached new heights. Recently, several major international companies wanted to partner with her.
Ella, Jason, Daron, and other key department heads were having a meeting together.
"Ella, regarding your project, quite a few companies have been contacting me recently. Here's a list of names for your review." Atlas handed over a list.
"I know, I'll look through it carefully later and make a decision." Ella took it and nodded.
"Also, the CEOs of both Apex Global Enterprises and Zenith Technologies Ltd. have clearly expressed interest in working with us and hope to meet with you."
Ella glanced at Jason and said to him.
"Jason, you go negotiate with them. If you think it works, we can finalize it."
"Got it, leave these matters to me." Jason nodded in agreement.
"Also, I'm planning to invest in an office building in the new tech park, and our company will move there."
"Once it's renovated, our company will relocate. In the future, we'll need to expand and recruit more talent." Ella announced with a smile.
"That's great! Our company can finally grow bigger. We won't have to look at other people's faces anymore. Ella, this is all thanks to you!" Daron said excitedly.
"This is everyone's achievement. In the future, we'll make the company even bigger and stronger. Next, we need to look into going public." Ella said confidently.
"We'll all follow Ella and listen to you!" Maddox said with an admiring look.
Other employees nodded in agreement. They had gone from a struggling small company with just a few people
to now having a proper scale. It had been a really tough journey. Ella felt this was the result of everyone's hard work.
After the meeting ended, Ella checked the time - finally, she could get off work early today.
"Jason, I'm heading out. Briar wants me home early."
"Okay, Ella, drive carefully." Jason waved at her.
