Chapter 85 Cherishing What We Have

Chapter 85 Cherishing What We Have

Before Alexander could even inquire about the situation, the principal demanded his children be expelled. He furrowed his brow and turned to Henry.

"What happened?" he asked.

Henry's small face remained cold. "They were racist, mocking our skin color. They pulled Olivia's hair and pushed her to the ground. Her knee is all scraped up!"

"Yeah, they deserved what they got," William added fiercely. "Anyone who touches Olivia—I'll end them!"

Alexander examined Olivia's knee, noting the broken skin. His expression darkened as he immediately placed a call.

"I donated one hundred million dollars to this school, not so my children could be assaulted," he said icily into the phone. "If you cannot guarantee their safety and are actively enabling racial discrimination, I have no qualms about bankrupting your institution."

The principal stared at Alexander in surprise. He was speaking a foreign language with remarkable fluency. Though Henry and his siblings were children from Novaria, their command of foreign languages was equally impressive. What the principal had mistaken for an ordinary family turned out to be a major benefactor, creating an awkward situation.

"Mr. Knight, this is entirely my failure. I sincerely apologize for this incident," the principal stammered.

Alexander let out a cold laugh. "And an apology fixes everything? Either everyone who bullied my children is expelled, or this school closes its doors permanently."

It had been quite some time since Alexander had wielded his influence so forcefully. He had initially wanted his children to maintain a low profile at school, but clearly, such discretion was impossible in this environment.

The incident also brought Ethan to the scene, who arrived with over a dozen security personnel in black suits after learning the children had been bullied.

"This is truly astonishing," Ethan declared. "Children of the Smith family subjected to racial discrimination at school? Principal, I believe you owe the Smith family an explanation."

The principal was dumbfounded. "Mr. Smith, these three children are..."

"My nephews and niece—treasures of the Smith family who have just returned to us, only to be mistreated by your institution," Ethan interrupted. "Since this is how you operate, I've brought accountants to audit your books."

While Ethan and Alexander confronted the principal, the three children, apparently tired of standing against the wall, had settled themselves on the floor. Henry was busy hacking into the school's firewall with his phone, William was playing a mobile game, and Olivia was reading a fairy tale.

Hearing Ethan mention an audit, Henry took the initiative to investigate the financial transactions and discovered genuine irregularities.

"Ethan, no need for accountants," Henry called out. "This principal has been embezzling funds. School administration seems quite profitable—perhaps we should open a few ourselves?"

Henry handed his phone to Ethan, who exploded with anger upon seeing the financial records.

"Impressive—two years as principal and you've embezzled three hundred million dollars. Quite the talent you have!"

The principal was incredulous that a child could hack into his financial accounts and even transfer the money elsewhere. Henry had also traced several board members who had pocketed donation money instead of adding it to the school's accounts—running a school was indeed lucrative.

"Ethan, if all the Smith family businesses were managed this way, bankruptcy would be imminent," Henry remarked with mock seriousness, his words cutting deep.

"Well, I'm getting too old to oversee everything," Ethan sighed. "Perhaps you'd like to take over the school?"

The principal's eyes nearly bulged out of his head. "Mr. Smith, this is absurd! Entrusting such a large institution to a child?"

Ethan smirked. "I have more money than I can spend, and this amuses me. Any objections? After embezzling three hundred million, your days are numbered. Hard labor seems fitting for you."

Just like that, Henry became the school's principal, making William the school's unofficial prince who could swagger through the halls unchallenged.

When Sienna learned of this development, she gave both Ethan and Alexander an exasperated look.

"Henry is only five years old and his health hasn't fully recovered. Must you pile more pressure on him?" she admonished. "Ethan, find someone else to manage your school—Henry is there to learn, not to work. And you," she turned to Alexander, "handle your own company affairs. Have you no shame?"

Ethan rubbed the tip of his nose sheepishly while Alexander poured Sienna a glass of water to soothe her throat.

"Darling, Ethan and I know what we're doing," Alexander assured her. "Please don't be angry—drink some water."

Sienna rolled her eyes at him. These two were becoming more irresponsible with age.

"Sienna, Alexander is right," Ethan added. "I see nothing wrong with entrusting the school to Henry. He's brilliantly intelligent and has a remarkable instinct for the market. He's a born businessman who will inherit our commercial empire someday. Giving him a school to manage according to his own vision isn't such a bad thing."

His words sounded so righteous that Sienna almost believed him.

"You're both being ridiculous," she declared. "The school situation needs proper management, or neither of you will be welcome back home!"

With that, Sienna headed upstairs. Noticing the usually rambunctious children were nowhere to be seen, she checked the gaming room, where she found Henry coding. Olivia was in the art studio, but where was William?

After searching everywhere, Sienna headed toward the laboratory. Before she even arrived, a tremendous explosion rocked the house—William had blown up the lab again.

Sienna felt a migraine coming on. Sometimes having so many males in the house was truly exhausting.

William came running out of the laboratory, wailing loudly. "Mommy, I'm green all over! This is the worst day ever!"

Whatever concoction he had mixed had turned him completely green, with green smoke still rising from his head. Sienna was beyond words.

"William, didn't I explicitly forbid you from going to the laboratory? Why did you disobey me?" she asked sternly.

William, who had initially sought comfort from Sienna, quickly turned and fled upon hearing her tone. If she caught him, punishment would surely follow.

"Mommy, I'm sorry! Elodie, I need a bath! I need a bath right now!" he shouted as he ran.

Sienna sighed in resignation. Behind her, Alexander approached and wrapped his arms around her waist.

"Sienna, I truly believe we're living a blessed life," he murmured.

She turned to face him, only to have Alexander capture her lips in a kiss. Since Alexander had stopped working, he had become inseparable from Sienna.

"Alexander, don't you regret leaving your familiar environment behind and living under the Smith family's roof?" she asked softly.

Alexander shook his head. "Why would I regret it? I have a beautiful and capable wife, brilliant children, and a life of leisure I never dreamed possible. Sienna, meeting you has been the greatest fortune of my life."

Sienna gazed at the man she had loved with all her might for half her life and smiled. "Then cherish what we have, Alexander!"
