She was looking outside the window. Nick and she had a big fight about going to see Larry. She told him that he did go see Jane at a hotel, how she found out about it was what got Nick confused that he had to keep quiet.
“ Is everything okay with you?” Sara asked her. She had followed Kate to the party. Kate did not want to be left alone so she asked Sara to follow her. Sara immediately recognized Larry. She looked around the place expecting to see Nick but she could not find him.
“ I am okay” Kate flashed her a smile.
“ Where is Nick?” Sara could no longer hold it in.
“ He is not here, he is not coming as well” She left where they were standing. She got to the dance floor and started dancing.
She felt a hand on her waist. She quickly turned to see who it was. Larry's hands were wrapped around her waist. He grabbed her close to himself.
She found Larry amusing and interesting. She let him have his way. Larry leaned in for a kiss, she pushed him away from herself. Sara came to where she was standing and dragged her away from Larry.
“ What are you doing?” Sara asked her, she was surprised that Kate did not ask him to stop touching her in that manner. She wondered what was going on with them.
“ Let me be, Nick does this as well. He might be with her right now” she sniffed.
“ Can we go home right now? I do not feel comfortable in this place”
“ Why?”
“ I did not like the place”
“ You can go home if you want to, I am still going to remain here for some good time”
Her phone began to ring. She sighed as she checked who was calling her. It was Nick.
“ Where are you, do you know what time is it?” He raised his voice.
“ I am already on my way” she rushed at Sara, they got into the car and drove to the house.
“ You would have to spend the night here, Sara”
Sara was happy that she would be spending the night in Nick's house. They entered the house.
“ Where were you?” He stood at the stairs and asked her. She began to laugh. He wondered what was funny. Sara looked at her and wondered what was funny that made her laugh.
“ I asked you a question, do not make me repeat it,” he said, this time, with a stern look.
Sara went to the side of Kate. She wanted to tell her that they had gone to a party.
“ Why don't you ask her where I was, she will tell you, whatever she says is the truth, ask her, and she will know where I had gone to,” she said with a smile on her face.
“ What the hell are you talking about?” He did not want to believe that she was referring to Jane.
“ The one who takes pictures, ask her where I was, she would gladly tell you”
She held Sara by the hand and led her to her room. She went upstairs to her bedroom.
Nick was tempted to ask Jane about Kate's whereabouts. He thought about it and wondered if it would lead to what she did not want to give her so much control.
His phone rang, it was Jane.
“ Talk of the devil,” he said as he picked up the call.
“ Hey, how are you doing today?”
“ I am fine and I have work to do”
“ Not to interrupt anything but I have some pictures you may want to see. Have you asked your dear wife where she was last night? " she said in a mockery tone.
“ You can send them,” she said to Jane.
Jane forwarded the pictures to Nick. Some pictures were taken when Larry came to where Kate was. She smiled as she sat back. She remembered that her pictures were out there. Someone had those pictures and they were not safe at all.
She left her office. She entered her car and drove out. She got to a building and parked her car. She got out of the car. She was wearing something that covered her, she even had to wear something that covered her so well, and she was wearing glasses as well. She looked to the left and then to the right. She walked into the house.
“ Is someone in here?” She asked loudly. She began hearing footsteps approaching. She saw who she wanted to see. She ran to meet with her.
“ Mummy,” she screamed. Jane was happy to see her daughter again.
She dropped her daughter on the ground.
“ Go play,” she told her and the child ran off.
She dragged the nanny by the hand.
“ Did I ask you to take her out of this house or let someone in here?” She pushed the maid to the door.
“ No ma, I never did, I do not know who you are talking about”
“ Someone took a picture of my kid. I do not know how that happened but whoever it is means business. You stay here and tell me that you are not aware that a picture of my daughter is out there in the hands of some guys”
“ I am sorry ma'am, it would not happen again”
“ Did you know that that picture was supposed not to be seen? My daughter, I am protecting her from the rest of the world”
The maid shivered, she went backward. Jane pushed her and left the house.
She got home and had to drink lots of alcohol. She was not happy that someone had to find out that she had a daughter. She never wanted anyone to know that she had a daughter. She drank more alcohol. She began to cry. She had no idea who was behind the pictures. She wished the person could show up. She was willing to pay to shut up whoever was behind it. Nobody can know that she has a daughter.
