CHAPTER NINETY-TWO: OUR WEDDING.

MEREDITH:

Miles, true to his word, made sure I didn't do anything at all at the wedding. My greatest contributions were "yes" or "no." He had everything and everyone over. He also "fired" me, saying that he wanted me to glow at my wedding and that working would stress me.

Zara, Grenada, Sarah, Lucinda, and even Brandon were actively involved. I received so much love and gifts that I had to convert one of the vacant rooms into a gift room. Miles began renovating the house to suit my taste, even though I protested that I was okay with the old layout of the house. He disagreed, changing colors, bringing new furniture, and adding feminine touches to certain parts of the house.

The long-awaited day finally came. In all honesty, the days went by quickly. We decided on a private wedding close to a beach in Fiji. It was our best decision. We had the day decorated in gold and black. There were chairs for just a hundred guests, arranged in rows of fifty on each side, overlooking the altar, which had a large decoration of red roses and black ribbon. The feeling of the cool air and the pure love surrounding us was beautiful. The golden and white seven-tier cake also looked delicious.

I was in the dressing room with Zara helping to place my veil, which was the last thing left to do. I was ready. Dressed and ready to marry my dream man. One glance in the mirror, and I could barely recognize myself. I was dressed in ice-white satin with a fitted, boat-necked bodice, long sleeves embellished to the elbow with tiny buttons, and a full circular skirt with a demi-train sweeping the floor.

Grenada gifted me blue diamond stud earrings, which I wore with Zara's diamond-encrusted strapless heels on my feet. Sarah and Lucinda each got me a fresh bouquet of white roses, which I carried. Brandon got me a funny but sweet-looking golden bow tie, which I pinned to the side, around the waistline of my dress. I'm not sure how that fits, but it added some beauty to my dress. I must train him on gift ideas for Lucinda. My man wasn't left out. He got me a short white, strapless gown decorated with diamonds as an after-dress. This man knew how to outdo everyone. He also gave me golden heels, a matching golden wristwatch, earrings, and necklace.

Aarhus, who agreed to be my "Dad" not just for the day but for a lifetime, was in the room. "I am more than happy to walk you down the aisle, beautiful," were his words when I asked. "Before I liked Miles, I loved you and your personality. And, through Miles, I gained another daughter. If he ever messes up, I will break off his legs."

He entwined his hands in mine, looking dashing, wearing a golden suit. "Let us marry you off," he said, beaming with a smile.

We walked down the aisle, with everyone standing at my entrance, walking towards me, some crying, others applauding and cheering. Miles was the most handsome groom I have ever seen. His outfit was worth dying for. The fact that he asked Brandon to be his best man made me teary. When he saw me, he began crying. I wanted to cry too, but I remembered that I would smear and ruin my makeup, so I held back the tears for later.

Aarhus handed me over, going back to his wife. "You look beautiful," he complimented when he took my hand.

"You too, husband."

"May all be seated," the priest commanded. "We are here to witness the holy matrimony of these two beautiful souls." His eyes fell on us. "It's time to exchange your vows."

Miles went first. "Meredith Tate, the girl who broke my favorite lilies and stole my heart." The crowd laughed. I laughed. "I didn't tell you why I was so mad about those lilies. Well, they were the last gift I got from my old man before he passed, and I dedicated time to keeping them until you happened. I might no longer have them because you killed them," he said with an eye roll, "but, I gained you. We have been through a lot, including getting kidnapped and almost killed, twice, but, we survived. I doubted you, which was a great mistake never to be made. I promise to be your peace, respect, love, care, communicate and spoil you. Before I gossip with another, I must gossip with you first." He chuckled, "oh, you folks are in trouble because my girl and I have a lot to talk about."

I giggled at the joke.

"Before I complain, I will compliment you. Before I let go, I will fix it. Before I get mad, I will take a walk, remembering that you are crazier. I am not funny, but I will start taking comedy classes just to crack you up. My wealth, health, and success are all yours. Your pain, sickness, and hormonal imbalance are all mine. You showed me that there is always someone better than what you lost when I lost all my hopes of finding love. I still don't know what I am doing, but, I promise to try to be the best for you. You gained four people at once; a best friend, boyfriend, fiancée, and husband. Even though Christian isn't here, I carry his heart. It might be a little odd and feels like you are marrying your brother, but, let us face reality, I have a better body and...," he paused, "let's move on. I can't cherish you enough or express my love for you. The way he would have protected you, I will protect you more. And, please keep in mind Brandon, who is already going to punch me in the eye if I mess up. Seriously, know that I am down to run this race with you and your different personalities until the end of time. I love, love, love you, woman."

The crowd erupted into applause. Uncontrollably, I became teary hearing such reassurance. His words and actions showed me that I didn't make a wrong decision, choosing him and doing this.

I cleared my throat when the cheers died down. "Miles, you have said it all. I came here thinking that I had prepared the best vow to share. I need at least another three months to top yours."

He laughed. That beautiful laughter that showed his immaculate teeth, charms me all the time.

"If you keep laughing like that, I might have to skip the wedding and go ahead to our wedding night." The crowd laughed again. "Okay, the vows. You are everything that I ever dreamed of. I couldn't ask for more. You spoil me with material things and I love your thoughtfulness." Turning to the crowd, "believe me, his taste in that is world-class." I turned to Miles to face him as I continued my vow. "You keep me whole. I promise to be with you even when you lose an arm, leg, or your whole body, wealth, and health. Miles Pierce, you are locked with me. You found a girl who doesn't believe in divorce or cheating. You are the oxygen that I need, and I promise not to take you for granted. Thank you for coming into my life and fixing everything you didn't ruin. I love you, baby."

By the time I finished, he was wiping his tears. The crowd stood in applause before the priest continued.

"If anyone has a reason why these two shouldn't be united, please speak up or forever remain silent." We waited, and no one interrupted. "You may kiss your Queen."

Miles, smiling, unveiled me. One hand was around my waist, and he was all over me. We couldn't get enough of each other's lips.

The after-party was glamorous. We cut our cake, had our dance, played fun games, and, of course, ate when we got hungry. My favorite was my dance with Miles while 'Mirror' by Justin Timberlake played in the background.

The party came to an end, and we had to fly off to our honeymoon destination, which was in Montreal at one of Miles's resorts. For my wedding gift, he bought me a customized private plane, while I got him... well, myself.

EPILOGUE.

Nine months later…

MILES:

Given another chance, I'd choose Meredith. It's just unfair no one shared the pregnancy manuscript or advised waiting. Our incredible honeymoon across seven countries resulted in Meredith unexpectedly getting pregnant. I'd planned to enjoy ourselves a bit longer before diving into parenthood, but life had other plans.

The journey became a whirlwind and a battleground. I actively participated in our pregnancy, cherishing the moments. Yet, Meredith's emotions were a rollercoaster. She craved only the company of Brandon, Zara, and Sarah. Unless she sought intimacy, I was on the sidelines. Sex became frequent, anywhere she desired.

She ate and cried excessively. I urged her to rest, avoiding work to focus on herself. Bored, she picked up new hobbies like painting and knitting. Habits changed; she turned into a neat freak and often scolded me, but I didn't mind. Overall, she blossomed, with fuller breasts and curvier hips. Mrs. Pierce became my constant fantasy.

Twins were on the way, keeping us busy. From setting up nurseries to planning the baby shower, I aimed for a private, exclusive birth. As the due date approached, doctors were regular visitors.

One day, Meredith sat on an Ottoman, munching chips while watching 'Avatar: The Last Airbender.' Admiring her, she made a peculiar request, "Baby, I want grilled potatoes." Her cravings knew no bounds, having explored fried beans, yam with crab sauce, and countless unknown meals.

I reminded her, "Potatoes can't be grilled."

She shot me a glare, "That's what your babies want. I'm shaping their ears."

“Oh, we are playing this pregnancy card again?”

“Always.”

“Then I can't refuse my Queen.” I was barely out of the door when I heard her yell. Dashing back, “What is it, baby?”

“My water broke!”

She was swiftly wheeled to the labor room within our house. The pain she endured was too much for me to witness.

"Take a deep breath. Push," instructed Doctor Zayil, administering numerous drugs. Witnessing the baby's head emerging, I couldn't bear it and passed out. I awoke hours later with a throbbing headache. The house was filled, and my twin boys, resembling me but inheriting their mother's attitude, had arrived. Meredith teased me for fainting, and everyone, including Sarah, Aarhus, Zara, and our staff, celebrated with us.

Brandon and Lucinda, who revealed their relationship, stood by each other. They made a beautiful couple and had recently gotten engaged. I couldn't be happier, as we now had a wedding to plan.

"You did well, baby," I praised Meredith, who indulged in a box of coke, pizza, and chicken wings.

The background hummed with the slow beat of "Forever" by Labyrinth. Meredith teased, "Says the man who passed out just seeing the head of his baby."

"I'm sorry," I admitted.

“I know.”

“So, have you picked their names yet?” Zara asked.

“Yes,” I responded. “We are naming one Christian, in honor of my dead brother-in-law.”

“And the other, Dove, in honor of Miles's father,” Meredith spoke with so much love in her eyes.

“Oh, that is sweet,” Aarhus commended.

“I have something for you, my Queen. A push gift.” I brought a box wrapped with beige ribbons and two blue balloons attached to it.

“You spoil me, Miles.”

“And I am about to spoil you more.”

She opened it and screamed with excitement. “This is too much.”

I made her a fifty percent shareholder in everything that I owned; business, properties, and even political involvements. "If you decide to leave me, which would never happen because I will find and bring you back to me, you are walking out with fifty percent of everything I have, Meredith Pierce."

She began to sob. “I love you.”

“I love you too. Thank you for coming into my life.”

"These babies will be the most spoiled ever. With Aarhus as a godfather, plenty of uncles, Grenada as their godmother, and an entire elite family," Sarah acknowledged.

"We can't wait to spoil them!" a booming voice from the door exclaimed. It was Robin, one of the club players, entering with others carrying gifts and big smiles.

"I'm the luckiest man alive!" Miles declared.

THE END!
