Chapter 185 – Bonus – I Think My Water Broke

Chapter 185 – Bonus – I Think My Water Broke
Isabella’s POV – End of June

“Zander!” I called from the bedroom. Ugh. How am I supposed to put on my shoes if I can’t see my own feet? Being almost 9 months pregnant really sucks sometimes. “Zander?” Fuck it. I’m going barefoot. I waddled, literally waddled, down the hall. Damn it, I forgot Zander is golfing with Nathan and Papa. I looked down at my stomach. “Stop eating my brains!” I chastised the babies and then laughed. I made it to the kitchen and realized Mama was sitting at the breakfast counter.

“Mama? What are you doing here?” I asked.

“Zander and Papa are golfing with Nathan,” Mama advised.

“I know that, but what are you doing here?” I asked again.

“I came to keep you company,” Mama replied.

“You mean you came to babysit me?” I chuckled.

“I’m not admitting to that,” Mama laughed.

There was a knock on the door. Mama got up and went to answer it. “Morgan!” Mama exclaimed. “Don’t you look lovely!”

“Hi, Nina,” Morgan said, gleefully. “Is Isabella home?”

“Yes, Morgan. Please come in. She’s in the kitchen,” Mama declared.

Next thing I know, Morgan, in all her pregnancy glory, comes walking around the corner.

“Hi, Isabella!” Morgan said, perky as usual. “I brought you some chocolate chip cookies I just made.”

“Hi, Morgan,” I responded. “Thank you for the cookies. By the way, don’t take this the wrong way, but you and your perfect pregnancy can suck it.”

Morgan laughed her head off.

“ISABELLA!” Mama chastised me. “Don’t be so rude!”

“It’s ok, Nina,” Morgan giggled. “It’s an inside joke.”

“Thank God!” Mama sighed. “I thought I was going to have to smack my pregnant child up the side of the head.”

“Mama,” I laughed. Morgan and I have been hanging out since I finished the school term. I can’t get over her pregnancy. No morning sickness when I threw up for 3 months straight. No swollen anything, while I’ve been blessed with cankles and swollen feet. I looked like a beached whale; in the meantime, Morgan looked like a little pixie with a small little bump. Mama is pretty sure she’s having a girl since she’s not all out front like a basketball. Right now, I feel like I’m going to give birth to two bowling balls.

“Oh, Amelie said we can come up and get some sun, paddle in the pool, and use the loungers if we would like to,” Morgan stated.

“Oh, that would be awesome,” I expressed. “I need to change. Mama, can you help me?”

“Absolutely, Mia Bella,” Mama responded.

“Do you need to change, Morgan?” I asked.

“No, I have my bathing suit on under my dress already,” Morgan revealed.

“Ok, give me 5 minutes, and I’ll be back,” I disclosed, waddling back to the bedroom with Mama in tow.

We returned 5 minutes later and took the elevator up to the roof.

“Ladies! So nice to see you!” Amelie said, racing over to hug us.

“I’m just going to run back downstairs to put my bathing suit on,” Mama announced and headed back to the elevator.

“Oh my gosh, Izzy,” Eliza squealed from one of the loungers and ran over to hug me. “How much longer until my cousins are here?”

“Any day now, Eliza,” I said, hugging her back.

“Did you decide on names yet?” Eliza asked.

“Just on one girl's name, but it’s a surprise,” I replied. “We still can’t think of boys' names.

“You’d better hurry up,” Eliza giggled.

“I know, right?” I chuckled.

“Mummy was making smoothies. Izzy and Morgan, do you want one?”  Eliza asked.

“Yes, please,” Morgan said, smiling.

“I’d love one too,” I answered. Eliza grabbed our hands to escort us over to the bar.

“Strawberry and banana, ok?” Amelie asked. “That’s what I have in the blender.”

“That’s perfect!” Morgan and I said at the same time.

The elevator opened, and out walked Kimmy. “I HAVE ARRIVED! THE PREGNANCY PARTY CAN BEGIN!” Kimmy called out, holding up takeout bags. We all laughed.

“Oh, Kimmy, my savior,” Amelie gushed.

“I am,” Kimmy smirked. “I thought to myself, what should I buy for three pregnant women and one ‘hell no, I’m not pregnant’ Broadway star? The answer was clear, of course, Oscar’s burgers!”

Amelie, Morgan, and I all cheered loudly. “Hey, what about me?” Eliza pouted.

“Of course, I got you something, short stuff,” Kimmy grinned.

“Thank you, my favorite Auntie!” Eliza said, clapping.

“Hey, you said I was your favorite two hours ago when I brought up chocolate chip cookies,” Morgan stated.

“And you said it to me yesterday when I took you for a pedicure,” I uttered.

“You’re all my favorite,” Eliza giggled.

“Good recovery,” Amelie chuckled.

“I’ll set up the food on the table,” Kimmy advised.

“I have to pee again,” I snickered and headed to the bathroom in the spa retreat area of the roof. Honestly, this is the coolest rooftop in New York, I swear. Nathan had it set up as the typical bachelor pad escape until Amelie came along. Now it has the main pool area, a bar, a spa area with heated stone loungers, a dog run, and, most recently, a children’s play area with a jungle gym and sand pit. Not bad for the most notorious bachelor in New York at one time.

God, I have to pee SO bad. What the hell am I peeing myself? I ran to the bathroom and sat down. Well, I leaked a little, but I made it kind of in time.

GUSH

What the hell?!?!

Oh God, I think my water just broke! I opened the bathroom door while still sitting down. “MAMA! AMELIE!” I screamed. “SOMEONE! ANYONE!”

I heard scrambling outside. “Mia Bella! What’s wrong?” Mama shouted from outside the bathroom door.

“Mama, I think my water broke,” I called back to her.

The door flung open, and everyone was standing there. How embarrassing! Amelie took one look at my pants and took charge. “Kimmy, call Nathan, get him to tell Zander that Izzy’s water broke, and to meet us at the hospital. Morgan, call an ambulance. Nina, go grab Isabella a dress, underwear, and two or three pads.”

“What am I supposed to do?” Eliza asked.

“Go tell Logan and Trudy, Eliza,” Amelie advised.

“WOOOOOO!” Eliza screamed, running away from the bathroom. “I’M GOING TO BE A COUSIN!”

At least one of us isn’t scared to death.
