Chapter 71

Rhiannon staggered when she heard her father’s words, and she couldn’t believe it.

“Dad, what do you mean? Mom’s blood type is O!” Rhiannon said, her face turning pale, and she didn’t want to accept what her father was saying.

“No! When she was giving birth to you, she lost a lot of blood and needed transfusion, I remember that the doctor said that they needed blood type A,” Mr Clark said making Rhiannon’s face turn white as she was in disbelief.

Kaylee and her mother were equally shocked as they never expected that Rhiannon wasn’t her father’s child

Mr Clark’s face was also pale out of anger as he couldn’t believe that he had taken care of another person’s child.

Recalling when Rhiannon had been born, she had been born two months before the date he had expected. Now he realizes that Sabrina was already pregnant when she married him and has never told him the truth.

He wondered whether he was really a fool that he was even cheated and the fact that he never realized it made things worse.

“No, that’s impossible!” Rhiannon murmured while Kaylee rolled her eyes as she was happy to know that she was her father’s only child.

“How can it be impossible? Dad is blood type B while your mother is A, if you were really my father’s child you should have blood type B if not AB. It's even better if you had blood type A as we could have said that you carried your mother’s blood type but none of it is true. You are blood type O!” Kaylee said with a smug on her face causing Rhiannon to glare at her as if she wasn’t helping in anything but Kaylee ignored it as she was so happy.

“Yes, what Kaylee has said is true. Don’t try causing a scene if you don’t believe that your mother was a cheater,” Mrs Clark said causing Rhiannon to slap her.

“Don’t ever say that about my mother!” Rhiannon said as she gritted her teeth and her eyes stared at the woman coldly.

Both Mrs Clark and Kaylee never expected Rhiannon to do that. They were more terrified of her.

“She is right. Her mother wasn’t a cheater. I have remembered everything that happened that year,” Mr Clark said causing everyone to turn their head at him.

“What do you mean dad?” Rhiannon said with some hope in her eyes.

“When your mother came to the city, it was just a town although it was very popular. I met her when she was at the mall doing shopping with your aunt Melda. I was buying some stuff when your mother started complaining that she was feeling dizzy. Out of worry, your aunt forgot what they were doing and started helping her out of the mall. I saw them leave their bags and I hurriedly followed them after carrying their bags. Since they didn’t have a man accompanying them, they requested me to drive the car and take them to the hospital. After that, I took them home. To repay me, your aunt offered me a job and afterward, your mother and I started talking and knowing each other. One day told me that she was in a hurry to get married and I told her that I was willing to marry her so we registered our marriage. If you were my child, you should have been born two to three months after your birthday. At that time, I thought that she had given birth prematurely. Now, I understand that she was already pregnant before she married me.”

“She was in a hurry to get married so that she could get her child a father,” Mr Clark said in a low tone as he was even embarrassed and felt humiliated. He wished that he had known what her agenda was.

“Now, do you believe that my mother isn’t a cheater? She never cheated on her father. It's father who slept with your mother when he was still married to my mother,” Rhiannon told Kaylee coldly.

“Did you want my father to be childless?” Kaylee retorted. “Who told him to marry my mother? He married her because of her wealth not because he loved her! I am sure that if he had even known that she was pregnant, he would have still agreed to marry her to live a rich life,” Rhiannon said causing Mr Adam’s face to flush as he knew that what Rhiannon had said was the truth.

Seeing the embarrassed look on her father, Kaylee knew that what Rhiannon said was true.

“Now that you are not my father’s child, you should know that the company should only be led by the Clarks,” Kaylee said with a grin causing Rhiannon to roll her eyes.

She glanced at the man whom she had always known as her father and nodded her head.

“Since you are okay and it seems that I am not your daughter, I will be leaving and let your family accompany you,” Rhiannon said before heading outside.

Kaylee looked at her departing figure and sneered.

“Guess staying in prison has led us to knowing the truth! She isn’t a daughter of any rich family like me!” Kaylee said causing her father to glare at her.

“Shut up! Do you think that if it weren’t for her mother, you could be enjoying everything you currently have and set your eyes on? If Rhiannon wants to fight for the company she can since her mother is the founder of the company,” Mr Clark said angrily as he was displeased with his daughter for not even thinking.

Kaylee pouted as she felt wronged. “Dad, what are you saying? Why are you blaming me when I haven’t done or said anything wrong? I just stated facts,” Kaylee said accusing her father to sigh.

“I want to rest,” he said as he hoped that they would leave him as he needed time alone.

Hearing his words, Kaylee knew that her father was angry at her but didn’t want to argue with her. Seeing that there was no need to argue with him because of Rhiannon who was nothing in front of her anymore, she nodded her head at him and then glanced at her mother who was busy staring at her father.

“Mom, let’s go home and rest. We haven’t even taken a proper bath since we have been in imprisonment!” Kaylee said reminding her mother what she didn’t want to remember.

Mrs hated the life she went through in prison and she wanted to forget it. Now hearing her daughter’s words, she remembered that she still carried the prison scent and felt annoyed and at the same time nauseous.

“Okay, let’s go,” Mrs Clark said. “Hubby, take care of yourself. I will bring you some meals when I come back.”

She knew that since it was discovered that Rhiannon wasn’t the man’s daughter, as his family, they had to treat him well so that they could get anything they wanted without any worry.

Rhiannon on the other hand went to her Aunt Melda’s place as she felt she needed answers.

“When is your boss coming back?” She asked the chauffeur with a frown as she felt that she needed her husband at the moment.

The bodyguards who accompanied her into the hospital had thought that since their madam’s father had recovered, she would be happy but when she walked out of the room, her face was so pale that it had turned so white. They had heard some commotion in the ward but they didn’t dare walk in without her summoning them. They felt that it was their fault for not protecting their made well enough when they saw how sad she was.

“Madam, I don’t know about that. Why don’t you call him?” the chauffeur asked as she stared at her through the front view.

Rhiannon felt conflicted as she wondered what she should do.

She really wanted to go somewhere she could cool her head as she knew that if she stayed in the city, she would be slandered and Kaylee would tell everyone that she wasn’t their father’s daughter.

The company, she would face opposition from those old men if they knew that she wasn’t a Clark.

With all that on her mind, she took her phone and dialed Octavius' number.
