Bonus – The Billionaire’s Friends – Tiff and Samuel – Nine
Samuel’s POV
I checked the security camera for my place, and Tiff is no longer there. I sent her a text.
Samuel: Hey, my beautiful Red. Hope you have a wonderful day. See you tonight :)
There was no reply. She must be busy, so I’ll try her again later. I can honestly say I’ve been completely unproductive today. I was attentive and on point at the three meetings, but as far as any time spent at my desk, I was a pylon. I just sat at my desk and thought about every curve of my sweet little Red.
“Knock, knock,” Cynthia said, leaning on the door of my office.
In the past, I would have jumped at her beck and call, but now, she was my past. Tiff is now my future and is better than anything I had with Cynthia.
“Hey Cynthia,” I said, leaning back in my chair. “What brings you to floor forty-two?”
“Now, now, Samuel. Is that any way to greet me?” Cynthia purred as she entered my office, closed the door, and put on the privacy glass. “It’s been a long time, Samuel.”
Cynthia slinked over to my desk and hopped up on the edge of my desk in front of me. Her skirt rides up to reveal her black thigh-high stockings, attached to a garter belt.
“Do you need a report or something, Cynthia?” I asked.
“I’ll take the… or something,” she stated as she uncrossed her legs and showed me she had no panties on.
“Cynthia, this is highly inappropriate in the office,” I stated.
“What?” She said, looking at me like I had three heads.
“It’s inappropriate,” I expressed again. “We are no longer a couple. Actually, we were never a couple.”
“How can you say that, Samuel?” Cynthia said, crossing her arms and legs in anger.
“A couple has a normal relationship,” I revealed. “They go out and have dinner, go to parties, and meet with friends.”
“Nothing is normal about us, Samuel,” she declared. “We are perverse beings. Meant for each other.”
“No, we’re not,” I uttered. “I have a girlfriend.”
Cynthia threw her head back in a boisterous laugh. “You’ve got to be joking, Samuel. Does she know what you are?”
“Yes,” I advised.
“Has she signed a contract yet?” Cynthia smirked.
“We’re taking it slow,” I informed her.
“Oh, so she’s vanilla,” Cynthia scoffed. “Trust me, you’ll get bored with her in a week, then you’ll come crawling back to me.”
“Actually, I was so enthralled by her ‘vanilla’ that I plan on doing it again tonight,” I said with a wicked smile.
“You’ve got to be joking,” Cynthia sneered.
“Nope,” I said, stood up, and walked to the door. I turned the privacy glass off and opened the door. “If you don’t have anything professional to talk about, I think it’s best that you leave.”
She stormed to the door, getting up in my face. “Just you wait, Samuel,” she spat. “You’ll come crawling back to me when she finds out who you really are.”
“Now, come on, Cynthia,” I chuckled. “You know I would never crawl.”
Cynthia huffed and stormed out of my office.
I walked out after her with my hands in my pockets.
“Well, Cynthia has her panties in a bunch,” Samira laughed.
“Actually, she wasn’t wearing any panties,” I smirked.
“Oh, Samuel,” Samira chuckled. “Please tell me you didn’t go there.”
“No, I didn’t,” I stated. “She wanted me too, but keep that quiet.” I smiled.
“Keep what quiet?” Nathan said, walking out of his office.
“Samuel was just telling me about one of the people on our street,” Samira stated. I appreciated her discretion.
Samira and I have become best friends since we started working together. She and her husband, Yuri, often visit my house for dinner and vice versa.
“Oooo, brownstone gossip,” Nathan chuckled.
“You won’t get it, Penthouse boy,” Samira smirked.
“Am I paying you to gossip?” Nathan joked.
“You pay us to be awesome, Nathan,” Samira revealed. “Us working is just a side benefit.”
“Well, can you both give me some benefit for the next thirty minutes?” Nathan asked. “Then you can go home.”
“Sure thing, boss,” I said, smiling, and walked back into my office, knowing full well I wasn’t going to get any work done. I closed my door and sat at my desk.
Still no text from Tiff. Where is she? Should I text her again? No, Samuel. Be patient. It’s just weird after the night we had together that she hasn’t texted me. Fuck. I sound like a lovesick teenager. I laugh out loud.
Tiff’s POV
It’s nine at night, and Samuel has texted me seven times. Maybe I should text him back, but I just can’t bring myself to do it.
I’m busy moving my stuff into my new apartment. Nathan had set me up with an apartment in his building, but I haven’t had the guts to move into it fully. I’ve been staying at Ame’s place. Now I feel that I’m ready to be on my own. I’m grabbing stuff from the storage room when my phone goes off with another message.
It’s Samuel again. Fuck.
Samuel: Is there a particular reason you’re ignoring me? Red, please let me know if I did something wrong.
No, Samuel, you did everything right. That’s the problem. I don’t know if you’re acting perfect to draw me in for that twisted list, I think to myself. Sigh… I need to answer.
Tiff: Sorry, I’ve been really busy.
Samuel: It’s ok, Red. I was just worried about you. I thought you were avoiding me. Like you thought last night was a mistake.
I was avoiding you.
Tiff: No, last night was… the best night of my life. Thank you, Samuel.
Samuel: You don’t have to thank me. Or better yet, come over here and say thank you in person.
Tiff: I’m really tired. I’m already in my pjs. Maybe another night.
Samuel: Red, are you sure there is nothing wrong?
Tiff: Positive. As I said, I’m just tired and feeling run-down. I might be catching a cold.
Samuel: Do you need me to bring you some soup?
Tiff: Trudy made me some. Thanks anyways, Samuel. Have a good night.
Samuel: You too, Red. Take care of yourself.
I hugged my phone and started crying.
