(Freya's POV).
My eyes bulged, panicking. The passport and ticket I was holding fell to the floor. My body suddenly stiffened. I couldn't move my legs and arms when I saw Devan standing a few meters away from me. Staring at me with his dark, piercing black eyes. Like a hungry wolf that was ready to eat me after a long time of searching for its prey.
"Why? You didn't expect me to come here? Are you surprised?" he asked in a heavy voice. I got goosebumps feeling his dark and eerie aura.
"H-How did you find this place?" I asked in a trembling voice.
"I told you. No matter how far you go, I'll still find you," he growled.
I stepped back with panic on my face as he walked toward me. But I didn't realize it until I bumped into the sofa behind me and fell.
When I turned to look at him again, he was already in front of me, pulling me forcefully. Pushing me firmly onto the back of the sofa and impaling me with both of his strong arms.
"D-Dev," my voice trembled, the panic and fear evident.
He glanced at my plane ticket and passport which had fallen on the floor. And his eyes darkened. Making me shudder with fear. I squeezed the hem of my clothes. I silently hoped that someone would come to my rescue.
"Are you leaving?" he asked in a threatening tone.
I couldn't answer or speak because my lips felt numb.
"To where? With Theo? With that bastard?!" he yelled, cursing loudly in front of my face. I closed my eyes with overwhelming fear. My heart was beating very fast.
"You think you can escape from me?" he hissed. He grabbed my forehead roughly. Making me whimper in pain.
"D-Dev, it hurts," I whispered while holding his arm with both hands. I tried to let go, but my strength was no match for him.
"Tell me, do you dare to run away from me?" He whispered right in my face. With a voice that sounded cold and sharp. Her eyes darkened. There was no mercy.
"Please let me go. Please don't be like this...." I begged while sobbing. My tears just fell.
"Not like this? You should have known the consequences from the start, Freya. I warned you not to run, but you seemed to ignore my warning. Did you think my bluff was a joke?"
I gasped, my eyes widening as he glared.
"I swear, you're going to regret being so careless."
"No, no! Please... If you want revenge, do it on me. Don't hurt Theo, please..."
He laughed, giving me goosebumps. My body trembled violently. I sobbed under his pressure and intimidation.
"Of course, you must get punished for daring to escape," he hissed.
I gasped in shock as he suddenly smothered my mouth with something. Pressing it there until I struggled to breathe. My eyes widened, frightened, panicked. I tried to rebel, but he pressed my body so hard.
No way!
Anesthetic?!
I kept on screaming and trying to break free. With all the strength and power I had left, but I was becoming increasingly helpless. My body went limp and my eyes began to blur. Eventually, everything went dark and I collapsed in his arms.
When I opened my eyes, I felt my head feel dizzy. Everything was spinning around, but with my consciousness starting to return, I could tell that I was in Devan's house from the familiar ceiling.
I tried to move my body, but then I was struck with fear as I realized that my hands were tied above my head, as well as my feet. My eyes widened. My body trembled with panic and fear.
As I tried to sit up, trying to find out more about what was happening to me, I saw Devan. Sitting there with his haughty demeanor. Looking at me with his piercing gaze.
"Are you awake?" he asked with a grin.
I looked at him with my eyes widened. "What did you do?"
"Tied up the pet dog and brought it back to the house."
I looked at him with fear. Couldn't believe what he was doing. His demeanor scared me. This was more than what I had imagined. I never thought Devan would be able to do something like this.
"Dev, please let me go. Don't be like this!" I pleaded.
"Don't expect me to let you go. How do you think I felt when I found out you ran away, huh? You all conspired to make a fool out of me. Even Elliot?!" He snapped at me. Grabbing my hair with the gauze as he looked at me with his sharp and terrible gaze.
I trembled and sobbed. Not knowing what to do. All I felt at the moment was fear.
"You've made me angry, Freya. And I will never let you go. Even if you crawl beggingly at my feet," he hissed.
I squealed in pain as he grabbed my hair harder and harder.
"Dev, it hurts! Please... Please... Ah!"
"A bitch like you needs to be taught a lesson so that you realize how to be obedient. I warned you not to run away, but you broke it. So, don't blame me if I do something bad to your brother. Isn't that what you want?" he threatened in his dark, deep voice.
I collapsed on the bed. I gasped for breath, feeling very grateful for the ringing cell phone that had saved me.
“Shit!”
The ringing cell phone? I froze, widening my eyes as I saw Devan holding my cell phone. And then I realized that it was my phone.
"Look who the fuck is calling you," he said as he showed me the phone screen with Jason's name on it.
I bit my lower lip with a pale face as horror washed over me as I watched him smirk at me.
"Talk to him," he ordered. He brought the phone to my lips. Still, with my hands and feet bound, he held it for me. Then, he pressed the green button on the phone screen.
Before I could speak, I heard Jason say something that made my life crumble.
"Fey, Theo is dead.”
