Chapter 369 Father and Daughter Reunion
Chapter 372 Lloyd Awakens
Lloyd was sent back to the ward, and Naomi immediately began the second acupuncture treatment without delay.
Jonathan stood at the doorway for a moment. After confirming the treatment had started inside, he turned and left.
"Mr. Cavendish, it's confirmed. Everett was in bad shape and died on the way to the hospital."
Marc lowered his voice and asked, "What should our people do now?"
"Wait until this is over. Tell them to lay low for now." Jonathan's voice was tight.
Under the current circumstances, bringing Everett's body back to the country was nearly impossible. Moreover, Everett's autopsy report was equally important—it was the most crucial evidence to prove Vivian's crimes.
Jonathan had a hundred ways to make Vivian die, but he believed Naomi wanted her to confess and face justice, to let more people know about her crimes.
Jonathan stopped in his tracks and glanced back at the ward. "Keep Everett's death from her for now."
"Yes!" Marc immediately understood what Jonathan meant.
"Mr. Cavendish, Xander hopes we can use our connections to build momentum. He wants to publish Vivian's evidence online."
Xander had enough evidence in his hands to destroy Vivian, but that wasn't enough.
He had to ruin her reputation completely, make sure no one would dare take her in, and let the whole world know about her crimes.
After thinking for a moment, Jonathan nodded. "Help him. Still haven't found Vivian?"
"She's probably entered Solstice territory. Our people are working with Solstice police, so we should find her soon."
Jonathan nodded. "Pull our people back. Someone else will deal with her."
Jonathan believed that with Xander's methods, dealing with such a small-time player would be simple.
The evidence Xander had was truly shocking. From Vivian poisoning him to her later transfer of assets and control of the entire Harpers family—almost every step she took, Xander had evidence. He just hadn't had a channel to present it.
Xander had tried several times to expose Vivian's crimes, but each time only resulted in her crazy retaliation. His legs became permanently disabled because of it.
Now with Jonathan's help pushing things forward, the evidence was quickly made public.
Vivian's kidnapping of Grace was also exposed. Grace was surrounded by reporters as she left the police station.
"Ms. Hernandez, why did Vivian kidnap you?"
"We heard you were rescued at sea. Was it Mr. Cavendish who saved you?"
"Does this have anything to do with your good friend Naomi?"
Grace was still wearing somewhat dirty clothes and looked haggard, though only superficially so.
She carefully tidied her hair in front of the camera before speaking with a wronged expression.
"Vivian did it to use me to threaten Naomi. Vivian wanted to take Naomi out of the country, which would be a huge loss for our nation!"
"Vivian has terrible intentions. She just wants to monopolize witch doctor treatments and control the entire cell regeneration technology industry. I'm a witness! I remember clearly everything she said on the cruise ship. I absolutely won't let her succeed!"
The talking points were given to Grace by Judith, with the purpose of letting everyone know about Vivian's crimes.
At the same time, Jonathan found patients and family members who had participated in the human experiments. Led by Sophia, everyone testified that they had been tricked into the human trials.
"My husband signed the papers back then. I didn't know this treatment would have side effects and make my condition worse."
"They didn't just do human experiments—they found many wealthy people to experiment on, just to swallow their assets. I'm one of the victims."
"If it weren't for Ms. Kennedy, I would have died already. Now Vivian wants to kidnap Ms. Kennedy and take her abroad. We absolutely can't let her succeed!"
Xander also came forward, personally confirming Naomi's identity, proving she was part of the Harpers family, and that her father Everett had already died tragically.
By the time Naomi finished the acupuncture, public opinion online had shifted.
[Vivian is trying to monopolize the medical industry. In the future, ordinary people like us won't be able to afford treatment!]
[This evil woman who kills for money—can't we work with law enforcement to arrest her?]
[Ms. Kennedy is so pitiful. I used to think her parents didn't love her, but now I know the truth.]
Looking at the online comments, Naomi wiped the liquid on her face—whether sweat or tears, she didn't know.
Her father, Everett, was dead.
Naomi had thought of this from the beginning, but still found it hard to accept the reality.
She rested her head on Lloyd's hospital bed, crying silently. Her only relative in this world was gone too.
She had thought that this time, she might be able to save Everett, or at least...
Suddenly she felt warmth on her head. Lloyd reached out and gently stroked her hair. Only then did Naomi sit up abruptly.
"Mr. Wallace, you're awake?"
She held Lloyd's wrist, checking his condition. Only after confirming he was doing well did Naomi relax.
Lloyd was wearing an oxygen mask and seemed to want to say something, but Naomi quickly shook her head.
"Mr. Wallace, you're still recovering. It's best not to talk."
"I got the improved cell regeneration chamber. The effects are very good and can greatly reduce side effects. I've already given you two acupuncture treatments. You'll be fine."
Lloyd looked at her steadily, his fingers gently rubbing a few times, wiping away the tears on the back of Naomi's hand.
Naomi quickly sniffed hard. "I'm just so happy. I'm fine."
Lloyd clearly sensed something was wrong with her emotions, but didn't ask more questions and fell back into a deep sleep.
He could feel the vigorous life force in his body. He could also sense that Naomi had suffered quite a bit.
It seemed he could still accompany his proud student Naomi for a few more years.
After more than ten minutes, once she was sure Lloyd had fallen asleep, Naomi left the ward. Jonathan was standing at the door, quietly waiting for her.
"How is he?"
"Mr. Wallace woke up, but he still needs rest."
Naomi sat weakly on the bench in the hallway. Her voice was very soft, so soft it seemed only she could hear it.
"My dad is dead, isn't he?"
Jonathan stood to the side, as if he hadn't heard her words.
After a long while, he sat down beside Naomi and gripped her hand tightly. "Naomi, you still have me."
"I know." Naomi's voice was unusually calm. When she looked at Jonathan, there wasn't much emotion in her eyes.
"Actually, I knew he was dying."
She was a witch doctor—of course she knew about Everett's strange physical condition. He would likely have problems before long.
A declining body, organs full of life force, and his determination to die.
Before seeing Naomi, Everett must have already planned to die. Otherwise, he wouldn't have prepared the medication.
Perhaps he never expected that in his lifetime, he would actually see Naomi again, see his biological daughter.
Naomi just sat there quietly, with Jonathan silently keeping her company.
After who knows how long, drops of tears fell on the back of his hand. Jonathan looked up in alarm to see Naomi crying silently.
She turned her head, her voice carrying a note of desolation. "Jonathan, I have no family again."
