Chapter 366 Contact Xander
Chapter 369 Father and Daughter Reunion
The plane landed in Valensia, and everyone split into two groups.
Jonathan and Naomi were protected by Gabriel and his team, while the others headed straight to the villa to rescue Xander.
The factory was close to the city center, so they had to keep things as quiet as possible to avoid attracting the police—otherwise getting back home wouldn't be easy.
Fortunately, Vivian had been on the run at sea where the signal wasn't great. Apart from sending Naomi one message, she hadn't made any other moves.
Naomi and the others disguised themselves as workers delivering materials and quickly entered the factory.
The Harpers family factory was indeed huge, with people working even at night.
There were many Avalonians here, so Naomi's group didn't stand out.
Gabriel had an excellent memory—he'd only looked at the factory map once but remembered it perfectly. In just over ten minutes, he found the sterile chamber.
After taking out the two guards at the entrance, the group of six quickly entered the underground sterile chamber. Just as they reached the door, they heard a woman's tearful voice.
"Dad, please eat something. When Mom comes back and sees you like this, she'll be heartbroken."
"She's not your mother." Everett's weak voice came through, tinged with anger. "Ella, I've told you—she's not your mother."
"No, she is my mother! She raised me, made me a Harpers family socialite. She's been the best to me—she is my mother!"
"You're my parents, I'm the most respected socialite of the Harpers family. Dad, why won't you admit it?"
She seemed extremely agitated, repeatedly insisting that Vivian was her mother, even urging Everett to take his medicine quickly so he could become the head of the Harpers family.
"Dad, Mom said when she gets back, she'll deal with that old man, and you'll become the family head. Why won't you take the medicine?"
"Mom loves you so much. Don't you want to be with her? Don't you want me to have a complete family?"
The basement door was pushed open. Naomi entered the password as fast as she could and went inside.
The moment they saw Naomi, both Everett and Ella froze.
Seeing Everett, Naomi finally understood why so many people could recognize her identity at first glance—she and Everett really looked incredibly alike.
Naomi's temperament was more like Anneliese's. Everett recognized Naomi almost immediately. "You... are you?"
"Naomi," Naomi said softly. "My adoptive parents are Jagger and Luna."
Everett struggled to sit up from the hospital bed. "Naomi? Naomi? Yes, yes, that's the name! Naomi!"
Everett's voice became choked up, his body trembling uncontrollably.
Ella looked at Naomi warily, then suddenly ran toward something.
Gabriel was quick—he grabbed Ella and restrained her. "Don't move!"
"Who... who are you? What do you want?" Ella kept struggling, but with her arms controlled, all she could do was shout.
Naomi glanced at her, then handed over a photo of an adoption agreement. "Ella, you're not a Harpers family member."
"Back then, Vivian wanted to kidnap me, but my father sent me to distant relatives. She couldn't find me, so she had no choice but to adopt the daughter she'd sent to the orphanage."
"What?" Ella's shrill voice rang out. "You're lying! I'm Mom and Dad's child!"
"You are your parents' child, but your mother is Vivian. As for your father..." Jonathan laughed coldly. "Who knows who he is, but it's definitely not Everett."
Back then, Vivian thought she had a chance to get close to Everett, but she ended up getting herself drunk instead. The next day when she woke up in a hotel, she couldn't remember anything.
Later she got pregnant, but Xander hadn't been able to have sex with her for over two months due to health issues.
Vivian held onto hope, believing the child must be Everett's, so she was determined to have it.
But the result disappointed her.
She didn't know which man she'd slept with, didn't know whose child she'd given birth to, didn't know what to do—so she could only abandon her daughter at a welfare home.
"Vivian abandoned you, then adopted you a year later, pretending you were my father's daughter." Naomi's voice carried some helplessness. "I know you're innocent too. We'll let you go once we leave."
"You're lying! I'm Mom and Dad's daughter. Who are you anyway?" Ella shouted almost maniacally.
"Dad, don't believe her. I'm your daughter—look how much I look like Mom."
After saying this, Ella suddenly realized something and looked at Naomi in disbelief.
If Ella resembled Vivian, then Naomi was practically a female version of Everett.
Naomi waved her hand, and Gabriel immediately stuffed a cloth in Ella's mouth.
Only then did Naomi turn to look at Everett. "I should be your daughter, though we might need to do a DNA test. But right now I've inherited the witch doctor's healing techniques and I'm currently treating my teacher Lloyd."
She stepped forward and grasped Everett's wrist, then looked at him in disbelief. "What's wrong with your body?"
Everett's body was on the verge of collapse, yet his organs were functioning normally and were perfectly healthy.
This contradictory situation kept Everett constantly on the edge of death.
"The cell regeneration chamber didn't work? The data Vivian gave me looked fine. Why is your body like this?" Naomi was about to examine him further when Everett grasped her hand and looked at her tenderly. "Naomi, what a beautiful name."
"I knew I couldn't be wrong. Your mother clearly said she wanted to name you Naomi Harpers. You're called Naomi."
Everett's eyes gradually moistened, his voice choking up. "Good child, you're truly our daughter. I heard Lloyd is a very arrogant person—he didn't know your identity, yet he still chose you as his student?"
"My daughter must be truly outstanding."
"Not only that—Naomi is also researching cell regeneration technology and has made breakthrough progress." Jonathan stepped forward and called out softly, "Father."
Everett looked up at Jonathan in surprise, thought for a moment, then asked, "Jonathan from the Cavendish Corporation? From the Cavendish Family?"
"Yes, I should have met you once when I was young. I'm now Naomi's husband." Jonathan answered respectfully.
Everett nodded. "Yes, that time I returned home to treat your father. Is he well?"
Jonathan pressed his lips together without answering. Everett immediately understood. "He...? Never mind. You and my daughter are very fated."
Everett gripped Naomi's hand tightly, suddenly not knowing what to say.
Suddenly a piercing alarm sounded in the room.
Gabriel cursed under his breath. "Damn it!"
It turned out Ella had used her high heel to smash through a piece of wooden flooring, beneath which was a hidden alarm.
Everett quickly crawled under the bed and pulled out two handguns. "Don't let Naomi get caught. I'll get you out of here. Quick!"
