Chapter 364 Traveling Abroad?

Chapter 367 Reaching Cooperation

"Naomi? You're Lloyd's student Naomi? You're really Everett and Anneliese's daughter?"

The voice on the other end of the phone became noticeably excited, followed by violent coughing.

After more than ten seconds, Xander finally steadied his emotions. "Ms. Kennedy, how did you get in touch with me? No, what do you want?"

"Austin told me about your situation. I have a way to cure you, but there are conditions." Naomi knew time was tight, so she spoke much faster. "You must have heard about my healing abilities. I can cure you, but I need the latest model of cellular regeneration chamber."

Naomi paused, then added, "I also need to know where Everett is."

A long silence fell on the other end of the line. Naomi gripped her phone tightly but didn't speak.

She knew that right now, Xander also had to weigh whether her words were true or false.

He'd been imprisoned for twenty years and surely wanted to escape his predicament, but he had to find a reliable ally.

After a full minute, Xander sighed. "Even if you go find him now, he might not acknowledge you, because he already has a daughter by his side."

"Already has a daughter?" Naomi didn't quite understand what he meant.

Xander took a deep breath, finally saying somewhat dejectedly, "I'm sorry, it's all my fault."

Back then, Xander had taken a liking to Vivian's abilities in medical equipment. She and Anneliese were quite close classmates. Her abilities weren't as good as Anneliese's, but she was still a top scientist.

"Originally, Vivian met your father first, but unfortunately, love and fate don't work on a first-come, first-served basis."

Bringing up the past made Xander somewhat melancholic, because his wife Vivian had only pretended to fall in love with him to help him become the family head.

In reality, Vivian had always liked Everett, so when Vivian planned to kidnap Naomi back then, it was to control both Everett and Anneliese.

"She said she wouldn't kill your mother, just wanted to control you, but I think when a woman goes crazy with love, she probably loses all reason."

"Your father sent you to Avalonia. Vivian sent people to search for half a year, and finally brought back a baby girl. She kept saying that child was you, and even showed your father a forged paternity test."

"So now, for the sake of that daughter of his, Everett can't possibly leave the Harpers family. What good does it do you to know where he is? Better to rescue me. The patent for the cellular regeneration chamber is still under my name. Only if I agree can you take the latest equipment, because Vivian isn't the Harpers family head!"

Xander's voice carried some anger. "Naomi, I've been watching the news these past few days. If you want the cellular regeneration chamber, then let's cooperate. Cure me, and I can make you the next family head!"

"I'm not interested in being the family head." Naomi's voice was surprisingly calm. "Tell me where you and Everett are. I'll find a way to get you both out."

As soon as Naomi finished speaking, the call was disconnected.

Five minutes later, she received a message from Xander.

[Caregiver shift change is over. Sending you the address. Rescue me first.]

Then he sent a string of numbers. Jonathan glanced at it briefly. "Latitude and longitude—coordinates."

Naomi thought for a moment and quickly replied.

[I won't rescue you until I see Everett.]

Since Everett was being held and deceived, Naomi had no reason not to rescue him.

Naomi also didn't want any witch doctor to fall into Vivian's hands. Naomi wasn't sure if Jonathan's people could find Grace, so she had to eliminate all of Vivian's leverage.

This time Xander didn't reply immediately. Naomi waited hour after hour, until dawn broke, when she finally received another string of numbers—also coordinates.

Jonathan had already looked up the locations of both coordinates on his phone. "Twenty miles apart. Both are in the suburbs, very hard to find."

"I'll have people investigate the exact locations now. We have people in Valensia too—we'll definitely be able to rescue them."

Jonathan patted Naomi's shoulder. "I'll go make arrangements. You rest for a bit. Mr. Wallace still needs you to look after him."

Naomi nodded, then obediently lay down on the bed and closed her eyes.

Hearing the door close, Naomi's eyes snapped open.

She knew that if she didn't rest, Jonathan wouldn't leave with peace of mind, but she really couldn't sleep.

After thinking it over, she dialed Judith's number again.

"Ms. Lewis, I'm sorry, but could you let me see Austin again?"

The next morning, Judith brought Naomi to the detention center.

Austin clearly hadn't slept much either. When he saw Naomi, he forced a smile. "Ms. Kennedy, did you contact the family head?"

"What's the story with Everett's fake daughter?" Naomi asked.

Austin blinked, then shook his head helplessly. "I didn't know she was fake at first. I only found out before coming to Avalonia. I think your father probably had his suspicions too. He never publicly acknowledged this daughter—he must have had doubts."

"That girl is called Ella Harpers. She's lived abroad since childhood, always raised by Vivian. Actually, people have been saying privately that she looks more like Vivian. Did you know?"

"Because they look so much alike, Vivian hasn't been willing to let Ella meet people. Rather than calling her a Harpers family socialite, you might as well call her a pet."

According to Austin, Ella was timid and afraid, always following behind Vivian, treating Vivian like a god.

And Vivian only let Ella meet Everett once a month. Everyone knew Vivian was using Ella to control Everett, but no one called it out, because the Harpers family only had one witch doctor left.

When he mentioned that Everett had voluntarily participated in human experiments and become a test subject, Naomi clenched her fists even tighter.

"Witch doctors all know their own physical condition. Take Lloyd, for example—he's always lived well, hasn't he?"

"If he hadn't participated in the experiments, Everett wouldn't be terminally ill. Come to think of it, he probably didn't want to live anymore, but didn't want to drag Ella down either."

Naomi took a deep breath to calm herself before asking, "Does Vivian have a house in this neighborhood?"

Naomi pulled out a map and pointed to the coordinate location Xander had given—where Everett was.

Austin looked carefully, then shook his head. "That's not a residential area. It's been converted into an industrial zone. The Harpers family has a medical equipment factory near there. It's very large."

Naomi frowned and zoomed in on the map repeatedly. "Where's the sterile chamber?"

Everett's health was poor, and he wasn't in a hospital, so he must be in a sterile chamber.

Austin pointed out a location. Naomi immediately stood up. He quickly called out to her, "Ms. Kennedy, don't forget what you promised me!"

"Don't worry. When I find a treatment method, I'll help you."

Naomi didn't look back and left the visiting room directly.

To truly verify her treatment method would take at least two or three years—let Austin serve his time in prison and atone for his crimes first!
