Chapter 362 Won't Back Down
Chapter 365 To Save Your Life
"Yeah, she said you and Mr. Cavendish were about to have a wedding, and that you wanted to travel abroad with a good friend before the wedding. I even had my secretary send her passport to the airport."
Hazel walked in and changed her shoes, then neatly arranged Grace's shoes. "Naomi, what time is your flight?"
Like Grace, Hazel was also careless and hadn't noticed anything wrong yet.
But Naomi had already grabbed Hazel's arm. "When did Grace contact you? Was it a phone call? She told me today she had a cold and hung up right away. I had someone send medicine over, but she didn't take it."
Hazel looked at the medicine in Naomi's hand and finally realized something was off.
"Are you saying Grace..."
"When did she contact you?" Naomi quickly cut her off.
Hazel pulled out her phone and handed it to Naomi. "She sent me a message, look."
The phone showed a message from Grace with exactly the same content Hazel had mentioned.
"I figured since you and Mr. Cavendish have gone public, having a proper wedding makes sense. Naomi, should we call the police?"
Hazel was almost in tears. "No, no, no, we can't call the police. Has she been kidnapped? Why haven't the kidnappers asked for money?"
"When they call, I'll pay whatever they want, but we absolutely can't call the police."
Hazel was already becoming incoherent and immediately dialed her husband Billy Hernandez.
"Honey, Grace is missing. Didn't you say she went to the International Hotel to meet a client?"
"Yes, Naomi never went abroad! She's right here next to me!"
"Mr. Cavendish is already reaching out to people. You... you should come over quickly too."
Naomi glanced at Jonathan, who had already pulled out his phone to contact people, then looked at Hazel. "Mrs. Hernandez, don't worry. Jonathan will find Grace. You stay here - what if Grace just went out for fun and comes back soon?"
"I'm going to look for her now. Please don't go anywhere, keep your phone on, got it?"
Naomi waited until Billy arrived before she and Jonathan left.
On the way back, Jonathan said in a low voice, "Grace did go to the International Hotel and checked into a room, but she hasn't checked out and she's not in the room."
"But she and Vivian were staying across from each other, and the surveillance failed."
"What do you mean 'failed'?" Naomi asked.
"Signal interference." Jonathan's voice was heavy too. "I've already had people check the surrounding surveillance. We'll definitely find Grace."
Naomi's phone vibrated. When she saw it was Grace's WhatsApp, she finally felt relieved.
But when she saw the message content, Naomi became even more anxious.
The message was just one picture - Grace sitting in a first-class airplane seat covered with a blanket, eyes closed as if asleep.
The phone rang with a call from Grace's number. Naomi immediately answered. "Who is this? Vivian?"
"Ms. Kennedy really is very smart." Vivian's voice was amused, with foreign airport announcements in the background.
Naomi's eyes widened. "You're already abroad?"
"Yes, planes are very fast these days. Just a few hours and they can take us to another country." Vivian was in a good mood, her tone relaxed. "I just saw your news, Ms. Kennedy. You're no longer treating other people? That's such a shame. But your father shouldn't count as 'other people,' right?"
"Even if you don't have much feeling for your biological father, what about your friends? I heard you're very close."
"Don't touch her!" Naomi said angrily.
Vivian sighed. "Sorry, Ms. Kennedy, we need to board now. If you want to save Grace, come find me in Valensia. I'll send you the location after we land."
The call was quickly disconnected. Naomi clenched her jaw, maintaining her position holding the phone.
Her body was shaking, her fingertips growing colder.
They actually dared to kidnap Grace? How dare they?
Jonathan had already pulled the car over. "Naomi, I'll have people intercept them at the Valensia airport right now. As long as we can find them, we can bring Grace back."
"They won't go directly to Valensia." Naomi shook her head. "From the airport background noise I just heard, it should be Valerian language. Flying from there to Valensia takes more than eight hours. They must be going somewhere else to throw us off."
Jonathan pulled out his phone and immediately had Marc check Grace's passport information.
"They're definitely taking Grace away. As long as we can find Grace's boarding records, we can find them."
"Abroad, we may not be their match." Naomi closed her eyes, then opened them again. "Jonathan, maybe I should..."
"I know what you're going to say. No. I won't let you go abroad," Jonathan said firmly.
"You're overthinking it. I'm not that stupid." Naomi gripped his hand tightly. "Have Judith contact the detention center. I need to see Austin. I need to get in touch with Xander."
Jonathan raised an eyebrow, signaling Naomi to continue.
Naomi laid out all her theories. "Actually, when I met Austin and Landon, I noticed that the Harpers family members all seem to have some kind of neurological disorder. Occasionally they show signs of involuntary nerve responses, like eyelid twitching or pinky finger trembling."
"Logan should be from a branch of the Harpers family, so his condition isn't obvious, or maybe he's too young to have reached the age of onset, or perhaps you only develop similar symptoms after learning their medical treatment methods, like Mr. Wallace."
Lloyd had initially shown signs of a neurological disorder before developing other conditions.
Naomi hadn't thought much about it before, but today, for some reason, she suddenly understood everything.
"Are you saying you suspect Xander has a similar condition?" Jonathan asked.
Naomi nodded vigorously. "Very likely. Didn't you also find out he hasn't appeared for a long time?"
"Given the Harpers family's temperament, I don't believe Xander would willingly let Vivian become acting family head."
Maybe Xander was also being controlled by Vivian, but the specific situation would depend on Austin's attitude.
When Naomi and Jonathan arrived at the detention center and saw Austin, they were both shocked.
Austin, who had been refined and elegant before, had now lost so much weight he looked like a different person - sunken cheeks, protruding eyes, and cracked lips.
Seeing Naomi come to find him, Austin pulled at the corner of his mouth. "Mrs. Cavendish, what do you want? Or couldn't you sleep in the middle of the night and came to laugh at me?"
"Logan is dead."
Hearing Naomi say this, Austin's eyes widened, then he immediately shook his head. "Impossible! The Harpers family values bloodline above all else. Don't try to drive a wedge between us. They couldn't have killed Logan! At least, at least they'd let him live!"
But Naomi laughed coldly. "The Harpers family? What if it was Vivian who gave the order? Who do you think will be next?"
She leaned forward slightly, narrowing her eyes dangerously at him. "Austin, I'm here to save your life."
