Chapter 29 - Luna Rivera

***Bachelor Party: the disaster. - Part2***

“Leave me alone, Adam,” I say, walking back, but he grabs my arm again.

“Because you don't stop deluding yourself and admit that you love me! That kiss we shared wasn't forgotten so quickly,” he says and tries to get closer; I move away and realize that Jully is still clinging to me.

“I think it was the other way around, Adam. You just wanted to kiss the innocent girl who was going to college; I was new to the place, and I was foolish to have let you give me my first kiss,” I say, and only then do I realize what I missed; I see the astonishment on your face. “Come Jully, let's get our drinks.”

I pull Jully with my heart almost coming out of my mouth; I didn't want him to know that my first kiss was with him, especially because the other day he was already kissing another girl, and a week spent parading around with others. I fell in love with him, but Adam is not one of those who get attached, and at first, I wanted to forget him anyway; I felt stupid for letting my heart fall in love.

“You're very quiet, Luna, do you want to talk?”

“I'm sorry Jully, but I need to calm down a little; Adam is an idiot,” I say, and she hugs me. I let go, taking my drink and walking out of the room, meeting Romolo at the door.

“Are you well?”

“Yes, I am, I just need fresh air.”

“Do you want me to go with you?” he says, looking at me as if I had some apparent injury; could it be that I looked like someone was in pain? If I am, it's my heart that is bleeding again for those who don't deserve it.

I put my hand on his face and smile.

“I am fine!” He smiles and gives me a peck. “Go have fun with the boys,” I say and walk away, go to the pool area and sit on a lounger, it's empty here.

I put my glass on the table and take the train of my dress tying it around my waist, I take off my sandals and sit on the edge of the pool, soaking my feet, I lift my head and see some stars, I close my eyes and feel the breeze.

“So I was the first guy to kiss you!” I'm startled by his voice and almost fall into the pool. “Why didn't you ever tell me?” he asks, and I remain silent, still looking up. “Is that why you've been with Romolo all this time?”

“Are you crazy? The world doesn't revolve around you, Adam! You don't care why I'm with Romolo,” I say, getting up, fixing my dress, and starting to put on my sandals, but I lose my balance and almost fall into the pool.

Adam holds me by the waist, our faces are close, I push him away.

“I didn't know Luna, I didn't know it was your first kiss.”

“Now you know! What will you do with this great discovery? Look Adam, I love Romolo like never before, I loved someone, and nothing that happened in the past will change that. I'm not with him because I want to forget you, I did this alone and he appeared at the best time in my life, at the moment when my heart was free of you,” I say, leaving, and he grabs my arm, but I pull him, making him let go.

I walk away, and he comes after me, calling me. He stops me a few meters from the door where Kim's party is taking place.

“Look Lunna, I know I was a scoundrel, and looking at you today I see that I wasted a lot of time in my life with other women and…

“For!” I say, in fact, I almost scream, but I recover when I see that we are not alone. “Don't lie to yourself, Adam, we all know that you just have fun with women, for you they are disposable! You ignore their feelings. You step on hearts without caring about the consequences, you deceive, and the worst thing is that when you have 'fresh meat,'” I say, making quotation marks with my hand. “You don't even care about deceiving any of them. I'm engaged to Romolo, I love him, and don't even think I'll leave him because of you! Your chance has passed, Adam, and you're drunk,” I say, turning around and opening the door, but what he says leaves me frozen in place, and what's worse, Romolo is standing in front of me looking at me and him.

“I love you Lunna, and I never forgot our kiss,” he says once again, and no one, not even Romolo, knew about our kiss, not even Kim.

“Did you kiss?” Romolo asks, looking firmly at me.

“No!” I say desperately.

“Yes! We kissed,” Adam says, approaching and holding my hand. I try to let go, but he tightens his grip. “Let go of me, Adam!” I say, pulling my hand, and when I let go, in a matter of seconds, I see Romolo throwing several punches at Adam. I try to separate the two, and out of nowhere, someone takes me away, lifting me by my waist and placing me in the room.

The girls came close to me and started asking me if I was okay, if I was hurt. I saw when Kim left the room shouting for Adam to stop, that he was drunk, and the other boys were breaking up the fight. Tears stream down my face; I'm so nervous I start to shake. A waiter appears with a glass of water and offers it to me; I take the glass and take a good sip. I can't look at the door; I only hear the excited voices, and out of nowhere, they stop. When I look, I see Romolo approaching, and I get up.

“They told me he was injured,” he says dryly.

I don't know what comes over me, and I start to cry. He looks at me, and his face softens; he pulls me to him and hugs me.

“I didn't kiss him, not today! That… was years ago!” I say desperately, “I love him and I don't want what we have to end.”

“I'm sorry, my Lunna, I lost my temper, forgive me,” he says, stroking my hair.

“Antony took him to his room, he's very drunk and his companion left,” Kim says, approaching us. “Are you well?” he says, looking at me and passing his hand over my face when Romolo walks away.

“Yes, I am! I'm sorry for ruining your party.”

“I was the one who lost my mind, I should have been rational and asked Lunna about the truth, I'm sorry Kim,” Romolo says, hugging me.

“Relax, people, what’s a party without a shack! Adam is my brother, but I believe there was a reason he was beaten today, besides the fact that you were lucky because he was falling down drunk,” she says, winking at us, and we smile.

Antony joins us, saying that Adam passed out before he got to the room, that he just threw him on the bed and left him there, but that he put his nose in place.

“I imagine he will wake up without knowing what happened,” Kéfera says.

“Then you will tell me what happened, love, why he said he loved you and…”

“What?” Everyone around us screams.

I take a deep breath to say what happened.

“He said he loved me and that he hadn't forgotten our kiss.”

“What a kiss?” Kim asks.

“Do you remember when I arrived in Boston, and we went to see the game?”

“Yes, that night I saw you and Adam enter the house and disappear.”

“He took me to the roof, and we kissed, that was it,” I omit that it was my first kiss because I don't want everyone to know; it's enough that Jully heard everything.

“Adam is very drunk! He doesn't love anyone and doesn't get attached; I'm sorry for what I'm going to say, friend, but you were new meat on the block, and he would do everything to take you to bed.”

“I know that, and that's in the past, the kiss we had was nothing to me,” I say, looking at Romolo who is looking firmly at the wall instead of at me. I see that the muscles in his face are tensing, and I know that I will have to explain this story right.
