Chapter 72 - The Beta's Fate
Farrah’s eyes fluttered open. All she saw was a bright blue sky. What happened? She felt she was lying flat on the ground so she sat up. She gasped when she looked to her right and saw Dawn next to her with her eyes still closed.
“Dawny, wake up. Dawny, please open your eyes.”
Dawn’s eyes snapped open and then squinted. She saw her sister sitting next to her.
“Hey, where are we?” she asked.
“I don’t know. Some field full of wildflowers. I don’t know how we got here. The last thing I remember was seeing Wes and recognizing him as my mate,” Farrah said.
“Me too. Goddess, he looked so handsome,” Dawn said.
“Right! I can’t believe he is our mate. This is wonderful. Do you know what this means? We get to stay at the palace.”
Dawn smiled at her. They both stood up and brushed the skirts of their dresses with their hands.
“Dawn, Farrah, hello,” said a melodic voice.
Both girls looked up from their dresses and over to where the voice came from. A beautiful woman with dark hair and violet eyes stood ten feet from them. She was slender, her skin was alabaster, her hair black as night. She smiled beautifully at the two of them.
“Aren’t you two the most beautiful young women? I am so pleased with how you turned out. Your mother and father are two of my most favorite wolves. Especially your mother. Spirit, her wolf, is a descendant of mine. Did you know that?”
“Yes, Moon Goddess,” both girls said, as they bowed.
“Oh, none of that. Well, since you obviously know who I am, and I obviously know who you are. Come with me. I have tea set up. We must hurry. Your mate isn’t a very patient one. Plus, he’s been waiting a long time to claim you.”
“You mean he knew?” Farrah asked.
“Oh yes. When he was two, he knew you were his. But when he realized what a mate actually was at twelve, he and Con have been biting at the bit, as they say. These last four years have been especially hard on him. He couldn’t claim you because it was law. You were too young, and he was having trouble controlling Con. So he had to be sent away. He’s missed you as desperately as you have missed him.”
They both nodded at the Goddess and smiled.
“Are you happy he is yours?”
“Yes,” they both said.
“You don’t care that you have to share him?”
“No,” they both said again.
“Although I am curious about the mating,” Dawn said.
The Moon Goddess smiled, she passed tea around and they sipped. The Moon Goddess cleared her throat before she started talking.
“There are many ways that those that share a mate can mate. You can each take a turn separately or together in the same room. Shifters have no problem being n*ked with each other. Plus, you’re both identical. But I can understand how it could be awkward. Your mate has thought of this. He will be mating you individually. He wants to take turns. You just have to decide who goes first. He does not want the other one to be slighted. He has a plan. You can either go with his plan or you can decide here and now.”
“I want Dawn to go first,” Farrah blurted.
“What? Why me?”
“One, you are the oldest and two, I am scared,” Farrah said.
“I am scared too.”
“Rock, paper, scissors?” Farrah suggested.
Dawn burst out laughing, “This is ridiculous.”
“Ladies, let me help you. Have you both been feeling a bit off, a buzzing under your skin perhaps?”
“Yes,” they both said.
“You two are very special. You know your mother has certain gifts that I have granted her. Normally, only Royal blooded wolves are born with natural gifts, but sometimes I find special wolves and grant them special gifts. Ruby and Jade are my grandchildren. Directly descended, Ruby is granted with the power of Life. Like your Aunt Stella, she will be able to heal injuries that are dire, and help with the conceiving of the young. Any female shifter you touch with the power will become pregnant. Unlike your Aunt Stella, you will be able to help a shifter heal mentally. Jade will have the power of abundance. Through her, Farrah, you will help multiply any situation. If you touch a female shifter at the same time as your sister and use the power together, you can grant that shifter multiple young in the womb. You can also help grow crops, greenery, flowers, trees, orchards. You can also help someone, a pack, or business flourish. You will instinctively know what to do financially. You may use your gifts at will. There will be no penalty for over usage. So with that, once you mate your mate, your powers will manifest. Now with that information, choose who will go first.
“Dawn,” Farrah spit out as fast as she could. She put down her cup and smiled sweetly at her sister.
Dawn huffed, she was extremely nervous. She swallowed the rest of her tea in one gulp.
“How will I know what to do?”
“It is instinctual. We are shifters, we are very s*xual beings,” the Moon Goddess said.
Both girls blushed furiously.
“Now, you must get back. You know about your powers, now go and mate with your mate.”
The Moon Goddess slapped her hands together.
“Make them wake up! Why aren’t they opening their eyes?”
“Prince Wes, please. There is nothing wrong with them, they are just in a deep sleep.”
“Doctor, I can see they are in a deep sleep. What I am wanting you to do is wake them up!” Wes roared.
“Wes,” Farrah said, as she opened her eyes and sat up.
Wes was on her fast.
“My princess, are you okay?”
“Yes, I just needed you to stop yelling.”
He chuckled and kissed her forehead.
“Wes,” Dawn called out while sitting up.
He turned to her next. He had Farrah on his left and Dawn was on his right. Both of his arms were now wrapped around them.
“My angel, how do you feel?”
“Fine, we are great. We are so happy that you are our mate,” she said to him.
He leaned down and brushed a soft kiss on her lips. He then turned to Farrah and did the same.
“I am so happy to finally be able to claim the both of you.”
“We were with the Moon Goddess. She said we had to choose who you would mate with first.”
A throat clearing got all three of their attention. Koda, Lillyn, Magnus, the doctor, and Mystic were all standing there beaming at the three of them.
“Did she now, my sweet,” Lillyn cooed.
Farrah blushed and nodded.
“Perhaps we should give the young pups some privacy,” Magnus suggested.
Everyone filed out of the room. Farrah looked back at Wes and sighed. She was so happy to have Wes as her mate.
“I was going to suggest Dawn since she is the oldest,” Wes said, uncertainly. He did not want to hurt Farrah.
Farrah beamed and looked at Dawn. Dawn chuckled.
“Yes, that was my thinking too,” she said with a giggle.
“There is something you should know, Wes,” Dawn said.
“What’s that, my angel?”
“The Moon Goddess said that Farrah and I would be granted our powers after we mate. I will have the power of Life.”
“And I will have the power of Abundance,” Farrah said.
Wes took a giant breath. “Okay.”
They both hugged him, and he tightened his hold around them.
“You aren’t mad that you have to share me? Or that I have known that you were my mates since I was young?”
“No,” they both said.
He sighed with relief.
“Come, let’s go back to the ball. We can dance, and eat and drink punch. Then Dawn and I will escort you to your room, Farrah, before we go to mine. Then tomorrow night you and I will have our night together. After tomorrow night, though, we will all sleep in the same room. That will be my room. I have had a special bed made for the three of us.”
“Okay,” they both replied.
By the time they had returned to the ballroom, a light witch had fixed the ballroom windows and the mess had disappeared.
They danced, drank and ate. They spent time with their families. Wes glared at Josh and Andrew when they came over to introduce themselves as friends of the twins.
“Be nice to them, Wes, we like them very much. They have been very friendly,” Farrah said.
“I just bet they have.”
“Commander, Josh and I have the utmost respect for your mateship with the twins. We are true and honest friends. We would protect them with our lives, with your permission, of course. We would like to volunteer as their Elite Guards,” Andrew said.
“Oh please, Wes. Really they are just friends,” Farrah said.
“I can not deny you anything, my princess. Plus, I am sure they both know that I would crush them if they ever betrayed me,” he said with a wicked grin.
Both Andrew and Josh nodded.
“Very well. When I become the Commander of the Elite Guards, you will be sworn in as Elite Guards also, and special guards to my mates. You will be at their beck and call. You will die for them, and you will not let anything ever happen to them, or you will be paying the price. Do I make myself clear?”
“Yes, My Prince,” both of the men said.
Farrah beamed at her friends and sister. She grabbed Wes by the face and kissed him soundly. He growled with approval.
“Time for bed,” he announced.
Dawn’s face went up in flames. Farrah chuckled, relieved she wasn’t going first.
Wes, Dawn, and Farrah ascended the stairs. They stopped at Farrah’s room. Wes cupped her face and kissed her passionately.
“I love you. Sleep well, I will see you at breakfast.”
“I love you, too,” she whispered. She then turned to her sister. She embraced her fiercely. “Good luck, sister. I love you. Have fun,” she giggled,
Dawn blushed, and kissed Farrah on the cheek. She told her she loved her, and she and Wes left Farrah at her door.
When Farrah walked into her room, she instantly undressed, took a shower, brushed her teeth, put on her pjs, and got into bed. Earlier she had asked her mother for a sleep aid. As twin sisters, she and Dawn felt each other's feelings. She did not want to be up all night with arousal. She took the sleep aid and felt the first stirrings of arousal just as she was dropping off to sleep.
