Chapter 57 The Big Idiot

The security guards were so tired they were about to go limp on the floor.

Edward was so anxious that he picked up his phone to report the incident, but he was stopped by Paisley.

Edward was furious, "What are you stopping me for? If something happens to Auntie, how am I going to explain to Carl?"

"I know you're worried right now, but you have to know what you're getting into. I guess this isn't a normal hijacking. It's got to be premeditated. What if we report it now and they hurt her?"

Edward wiped the sweat from his forehead and said towards Paisley, "So what do we do now?"

"We have to calm down now. There are only two possibilities. The first is that Carl has offended someone. The second is that they want money. If they want money, then it's easy. We'll meet their conditions and we're not afraid that they won't her go. But if it's someone Carl has offended and they're here to take revenge, that will be a problem."

Edward was so anxious that he stomped, "How could Carl offend anyone? He is a bit of a jerk, but there is no way that someone is abducting his mother."

Saying that Edward remembered something and said to Paisley, "Didn't you guys ask Carl to handle the matter of the construction headquarters? If I'm right, this matter must have something to do with the Smith's Group."

"You go back to the headquarters first," Paisley said.

Edward gritted his teeth and turned off his phone, "Forget about the headquarters for now. Finding Carl is important."

After getting into the car, Edward made a call to Herman.

Edward intentionally pretended to be calm and said in a gentle tone, "Herman, where are you now?"

"Hi, Director Lee! What's up?"

"It’s not a big deal. I just want to buy you a cup of coffee."

"I like coffee! I'm in a sauna right now, you choose a place and I'll be there soon."

"the Lanfy Bar, I'll wait for you there. Hurry up, I have great news to tell you. You better hurry up. I'm in a hurry."

"No, Director Lee, that kind of place is a dump, remote and almost no one goes there. Why don't we move to another place?"

After Edward hung up the phone, he let out a long sigh of relief, "When that brat Herman comes over, let's beat him up first."

Paisley smiled, "Director Lee, what I didn't expect was that you were quite clever to ask Herman to a place like that. Aren't you afraid that this is his trap for you? He is intentionally waiting there for you."

Edward froze and stopped clenching his fists, "Bullshit, do I look like I'm here to rob something? Hurry up and get two cups of coffee. I'm thirsty."

After the waiter placed the coffee in front of Edward and Paisley, he peeked at Paisley, then immediately lowered his head, overwhelmed, and slightly blushed.

The staff member was a young man in his twenties. When he saw how beautiful Paisley was, his heart jumped non-stop, he didn’t even dare to take a big breath.

"Are you out of your mind? How are we supposed to drink coffee when you're standing next to us like that? Go away."

The staff endured for a long time, but finally said, "Is there anything else you would like?"

"Get out!" Edward was angry and was running out of ways to vent it. After scolding him, Edward became calm and called the staff back, then pulled out some cash from his wallet and threw them into the staff's hands, "Later we have a friend who will come over. He owes me a lot of money that he hasn't paid back. I want to beat him up. When he comes in later, please close the shop door so that I don't have to cause you troubles."

Soon, a limousine stopped at the entrance of the Lanfy Bar, and Herman walked down from the car with a smile, then walked into the Lanfy Bar and greeted to Edward, "Director Lee, you're really at ease! Not working, you asked me to come here for coffee."

"I can't compare to you, Young Master Smith! You don't have to go to work but have a lot of money, so I’m envious of you."

Saying that, Edward's face changed and said towards the staff, "What are you waiting for?"

The staff reacted and quickly closed the shop door.

Herman felt something was wrong and looked pale, but quickly recovered, intentionally pretending to be very calm and smiled, "There's no need to close the door for drinking coffee, right?"

Edward grinned, "I asked you to come here to give you a big surprise. It's more convenient to close the door."

Herman bitterly smiled, "I still have some things to do. Excuse me, we'll meet again later when I have time."

Saying that, Herman walked to the door and pushed the staff away to escape.

In the end, he was dragged back by Edward, who grabbed his collar and was thrown onto a chair. Edward grabbed Herman's tie, "Herman, you little bastard. You are still pretending with me till now. You better be honest and hand over the person. Otherwise, I will beat you to death today."

Edward was tall and big, muscular. Herman simply couldn't struggle, looked at Edward with a frightened face and laughed, "Director Lee, you are mistaken. I have never offended you or done anything wrong to you. Be generous and let me go!"

"Are you still pretending with me?" Edward raised his fist and smashed it towards Herman's face, Herman couldn’t dodge and was hit hard on his face, grimacing in pain. His face quickly puffed up.

"Where the hell is Carl? Was Carl's mother caught by you and your father?" Edward raised his fist and was about to smash it.

Herman looked at his big fist, afraid, saying, "Mr. Lee, you are mistaken. I am not clear about these things at all. I have never seen Carl, nor did I send anyone to capture Carl's mother. I am wrongly accused!"

It looked like Herman wasn't lying, "If you didn't send someone to capture her, then it must be your father who did it."

"Now I'm leaving you as a hostage. When your father releases Carl's mother, I'll release you." Edward was calm on the surface, but he was terribly afraid.

Herman nodded, afraid, and said, "Well, you let me make a phone call and ask. If this is really the case, you can do anything to me."

In fact, Herman was also confused. He had not seen Carl for nearly a week and was about to inquire with Edward. But he did not expect Edward this son of a bitch would hold himself as a hostage. There must be a big conspiracy in Carl's disappearance and Carl's mother being abducted.

After Herman finished making the call, Edward snatched the phone away and threw it on the table, "You better behave yourself."
