Chapter Forty-Two Epilogue
The Wedding
Edgar couldn’t recall ever being this happy in his life. His pack had insisted on an ancient wedding ritual similar to modern white weddings. His bride was dressed in a shimmering white and silver gown; he had never seen a more beautiful Luna in his life. His eldest sister, Leia, had lent Alia her silver wolf crown for her veil. His family had fallen in love with Alia the minute they laid eyes on her. His family had traveled from far and wide to attend the wedding. His oldest brother held his heir, whom he’d named Jacob.
The oldest werewolf in the world, also the oldest Pagan priest, Priest Kayden, was conducting their wedding ceremony. Edgar’s entire pack was in attendance. Elena’s pack had offered their sincerest apologies to Edgar and his pack. Elena’s pack had also apologized to the Elders. Both Harry and Elena were banished from their packs and not allowed anywhere within a thousand kilometers of Edgar and Alia.
Harry had called Edgar to apologize for his misdeeds. Edgar hadn’t fallen for Harry’s excuses this time around. It would have been easier for him to forgive Harry if he’d come to him first when Elena had threatened him instead of giving in to Elena. Edgar knew he would have been able to save Harry’s siblings whom Harry had never told him about. But Harry had made his choice and he had to face the consequences. Elena had also tried contacting him. He’d directed her to Elder David. Edgar was tired of forgiving both Elena and Harry over and over again. He snapped out of his thoughts when Priest Kayden spoke.
“Let us begin,” Priest Kayden said.
The audience fell silent as the Priest began with the wedding vows. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house as Edgar faced his bride and took her hands in his as he recited the vows after Priest Kayden. The Elders too were in attendance. They sat in the front row, their expressions stoic, but joy danced in their eyes. Edgar couldn’t take his eyes off his bride. A few of her living family members were present. He’d made arrangements to provide for them for the rest of their lives.
His bride looked up at him shyly when it was her turn to recite the vows. Happiness filled his heart. He couldn’t believe he’d entered into a relationship of convenience with Elena at the Blue Moon Ball when true love with Alia felt so much better. He couldn't go back and change the past but he could use the lessons he'd learned to create a better future for his wife and heir. Of course he planned on having more babies!
“I love you,” he mouthed as she repeated the vows after Priest Kayden.
“I love you too,” she said, after she was done with the vows.
“I now pronounce you Wolf and Luna,” Priest Kayden said.
Their guests erupted into cheers. Edgar took his bride in his arms and kissed her gently. He’d kiss her property later, he decided, sensing her shyness at their public display of affection. It’s okay, he thought, he’d make up for it later.

Earlier that morning…
Celine snuck into the bride’s dressing room. Alia gasped when she saw her. After all, if she hadn’t met Celine she would have never met Edgar. Celine’s eyes filled with tears when she laid eyes on Celine dressed in her bridal gown.
“Congratulations,” Celine whispered, “you’ve turned into a fine young Luna.”
“Thank you.” Alia choked on emotion.
“You know this relationship was meant to be. Otherwise you would never have conceived or even inherited the baby’s wolf powers.” Celine smiled. “You will protect your pack. I can see that.”
“I will protect my pack until the day I die,” Alia vowed.
Alia never thought she would experience happiness beyond her wildest dreams. Marriage had never been a part of her dream. She’d never held out for a wealthy billionaire, let alone an Alpha. Alia glanced at their guests. She still couldn’t believe that the supernatural community had welcomed her so easily. Her great uncle had walked her down the aisle accompanied by Celine. For the first time in her life she’d felt like a princess. As she gazed at her husband waiting for her at the altar, she realized she was exactly where she belonged.

After the Wedding and Reception...
Who knew their lives would change so drastically and they’d end up together all those nights ago when he’d just hired a surrogate? Destiny and Fate always threw their two cents worth, he’d realized in the last few weeks.
Edgar held Alia’s hand and led her to the limousine waiting to take them to the airport. She’d changed into a simple floor length slip dress for the reception. They’d opted for a quiet private mating ritual in Hawaii. He held Jacob in one hand and smiled at his wife.
“I love you forever,” he told her once they were seated inside. “You have made me the happiest man in the word. You protected my baby. You protected my people. You sacrificed your life without a second thought to keep every one of us safe. And most of all, you gave us all hope.”
Alia’s eyes filled with tears at her husband’s words. “And I would do it again and again if I need to.” She stroked the baby’s face.
“I got you a wedding gift,” Edgar said, once they were seated inside the limousine. He handed her an envelope that was in the vehicle.
Alia opened it, her curiosity rising. “Oh my, Edgar!”
He’d set up her own technology development and robotics company.
“I already have a list of investors and clients lined up for you.” He winked at her. “It seems like you’re going to be a very busy woman.”
“What about our baby?” Alia asked.
Edgar held his baby close to his chest. “I’ve read a lot about stay at home dads recently. I think I’m going to give it a try. I quite like the idea of having a successful wife.” He winked at her.
Alia laughed. “Oh Edgar, you’re too much sometimes.”
He kissed her lips tenderly. “Just the way you like me,” he whispered.
