CHAPTER 122; BURN IT DOWN

CHAPTER 122; BURN IT DOWN
XANDER

I can already tell the national forces has taken care of the situation on the other side, the higher officials will all be replaced and Clara will probably serve the greatest punishment for the list of thing she has done.

However, after hearing out the reason the Robertson turned out to be this deceitful I can’t help but feel a little pity and guilt within me causing me to halt the plan of killing Selene who is bawling out her eyes while still being on her knees.

“Go ahead…kill me, end my family line, that is what you all wanted”

Funny, the ones who committed such atrocity is dead, her family still succeeded in taking his life, yet that wasn’t enough revenge for them, they needed more, they wanted everything he owned all for an already dead child, a child that wasn’t killed by them. It’s no justification for the terrible things they did to my family and I however, I feel a little pity for Selene. She’s this way because of the family she was born into.

“I’ve changed my mind” I begin, staring down at her while she lifts her head to meet my gaze. Her lashes wet, eyes red and bulging, her makeup smeared making her look like a ferocious ghost.

“Your life won’t end in my hands, I’m not going to kill you”

Her eyes widen at my statement, glistering as I motioned for the guards to untie her and set her free. I can practically sense the relieve and happiness which irritated me. As much as I feel pity for her, I wish for her to pay for everything she has done to me. She is the one that killed my mother, and I can never wish for her to be happy even in another life.

“However, I will pass you on to the judiciary for judgement to be executed upon you”

The little smile that had begun to stretch across her face quickly falls, her eyes dulling again and sadness contorting her features as the guards hold on to her, pulling her to her feet.

She refuses to take her eyes of mine; her eyes desperately pleading to be forgiven. Something I can never do, pity is my last line the rest is impossible, she made them that way.

Selene is pulled away by the guards and I’m left alone in the dark dungeon, everything finally dawning on me, the things that I have lost, the people I would never get to meet again.

My throat burns, my heart covers by a basket filled with webs of sorrows as I recall the smiling face of my mother. In the very end she chose to die for me. She chose to protect me. But she left me with someone, she saved me and left me with the greatest blessing from the goddess and at the thought of her. I pick up the yinyang book lying on the floor and stride out of the dungeon, heading to my car and driving off to the warehouse.

I don’t bother to get the key out as I rush into the warehouse with the yinyang book in my hold, and there she is, despite her back is against me speaking with Nadine who is the first to notice my presence. I can already picture the look on her face before she turns to me.

When she does, I am beyond mesmerized. I have spent years with Cierra, I can say we have been through thick and thin together, but never have I seen freedom written all over her face this way. Her small smile feels like sunshine in this old and crooked warehouse, and all I want to do is to embrace her, to hold the light before me in my arms. As if on clue, she runs to me, wrapping her arms around my neck in an embrace. I can feel my whole body ease in her embrace while I let my arms make their way around her waist.

She feels just right in my arms, so perfect I never want to let her go.

“I love you Cierra” I whisper, the knot in my throat tighten, my heart racing as my eyes water.

“I love you so much”

There’s a silence before her response, a heartwarming silence.

“I love you more, Xander. My Alpha” She says, voice soft and warm, while her words sends waves of comfort and excitement bubbling within the dark memories that lays within me.

After a while we finally part from the hug and only now do I realize a tears had trickled down my eyes. There are only two people that had caused me to cry; my father and mother’s death. No one can ever make me cry except my family. However, a tear has just rolled down my eyes unto Cierra’s shoulders, this could only mean one thing…

“I think I know a way to destroy the vault” Cierra beats me to speaking and I have to swallow down the words I wanted to say.

“What’s it?” I sniffle and she reaches out to wipe the tear stains from my eyes, with a small smile still plastered on her face.

“The book, we don’t have to open it. Reading it more will only entice us and put us in curiosity, causing us to want to know more about the vault, in the end we will be tied down and unable to destroy it” She continues before staring down at the book in my hand.

“So we have to burn the book. If the ritual was done by the book, we don’t need out blood, all we have to do is burn it”CHAPTER 122
