CHAPTER 120; RYAN'S KILLER

CHAPTER 120; RYAN'S KILLER
XANDER

Letting Cierra go has taken a toll on me however, I cannot let it affect what I am about to do as one mistake from now on will drain everything I have always protected.

I pull up in my pack’s house, stepping out without hesitation, the guards standing at the entrance all bow as I walk past them. Aside from the guards, the pack house is almost empty and as I walk through the stairs to the passage, I am suddenly reminded of the fact my mother is dead. She won’t ever return here, and she won’t be here to guide me.

A knot in my stomach tightens, not even a deep breath is enough to set it loose. It still feels surreal, It will take a while for me to come to terms with such facts.

“Where is she?” I question the guard standing by the door and then he bows and leads me to her. I have a million things I want to do to her in my head. If my thoughts can be opened, no one will ever believe Selene and I were once friends. Friends to the point she was the only one I could get married to, the only woman I could spend the rest of my life with. I had almost killed my mate because of her yet, she did all this to me.

Right before me, the figure I had ordered to be captured is tied, and the book she had almost stolen is laid down right beside her.

Despite her sealed mouth, she pushes to talk, to say something to me. I don’t shun her, I do want to listen to the nonsense she wants to spill, I want Clara to watch another of her loved ones suffer.

“Begin the video” I order one of the guards, pulling a seat and seating before Selene who is lying down with her hands behind her. It must be an uncomfortable position for a girl who is not used to begging for her life, but Cierra was once in this position because of her. After she accused her of trying to kill her knowing fully well, that the omega is innocent.

I tear the tape out of her mouth without care, and she winces at the pain, shutting her eyes and trying to get her hands out.

“Xander let’s just end it here, please don’t hurt me” Selene begs, tears mixed with sweat, all trickling down her face. It's funny how the dungeon has more air than the one they locked me in. Just a day ago, I was the one being chained up and now that reverse is the case, she’s begging to stop.

I nod, slow and steady, “You want us to stop? Fine. I could just kill you straight ahead” I shrug, stretching out my hand for the tool in the guard's hold to be dropped on my hand. And immediately the cold light shining tool touches my hand, I slide a finger across the surface of the shining steel.

“No, no,” I hear Selene mutter.

“You can go ahead and cry out for help, your mother is watching you, she might want to run to you now, come on, go on, cry. The tears do not affect me, I want you to cry for your mother and cry for mercy from my mate”

She stills, jaw tightening as she throws her gaze away, deceit painting her face.

“If you want it the hard way, we can go that route. After all, you are less of a woman and more of a snake to me, I could torture you to get what I want” I stand to my feet, walk to one of the fire lamps, and place the steel on the burning lamp, letting the steel hot for a while.

“You can’t do this to me, it’s not fair Xander. I love you, that is why I am this way, you made me this way, your family made my family the way they are yet you all are still after us, we’ve nothing wrong, I have done nothing wrong, I just love you Xander, I want to be with you”

Her words fly past me as I walk up to her, my expression indifferent, I don’t think there’s anything she wants to say that is going to move me at this point.

“Are you going to beg her for mercy or not?” I ask, flaunting the hot steel before her face, as I slowly squat to her level.

“Why do I have to be the one to seek forgiveness when I did nothing but love you”

“You don’t deserve to say the word love, and you only have two choices, ask for forgiveness and die fast and simple, or die slowly and painfully while your mother watches you cry in pain to death.” I pause, studying the frustrated look contorting her features.

“She would join you after, however, her last memory of you is your death why do you cry out for help” I say with a low tone letting my voice stir up dread in her as I bring the knife closer and closer to her eyes.

“I could start with carving your eyes out with a hot knife or maybe your tongue if you don’t want to speak anymore” It isn’t a threat, if she isn’t going to ask for forgiveness then there is no need to keep the tongue.

“I’m sorry,” She blurts with fear, eyes shut, face tight.

“Not enough. I want to feel the sincerity from it, apologize for every single thing you’ve done to her, one by one”

After a while I sit back on the chair, my arm on my thigh while I lean forward, and watch her gradually let her eyes fall open before parting her lips.

“I’m sorry Cierra…”

“For framing you and almost getting you killed” The tears flow down her cheeks but I feel no sympathy for her, I don’t view her as the old Selene I used to know, right now she’s the woman that hurt my mate, the woman that killed my mother.

“I’m sorry for trying to get you away from Xander and hurting you in the process, I’m sorry for killing your son…”

Ryan.

“You killed Ryan?” My blood runs cold as I stare at Selene with wide eyes, who refuses to meet my gaze.

The culprit wasn’t James but…Selene?

She shuts her eyes and nods.

“I planted a poison in disguise of candy, in one of his favorite books the day I came to investigate with you in your office,”

My whole system weakens at her words. I can’t yell at her, I had opened the door for her, I gave her the chance to kill the innocent soul. I indirectly have a hand in Ryan’s death.
