The Proposal
The Proposal
Cyrus has decided he was going to propose to Agnes and this time not as Agatha, but for who she really was; Agnes.
Every detail had been meticulously planned. The garden, a secluded and serene spot within the palace grounds, had been transformed into a romantic haven. Lanterns hung from the trees, casting a soft, golden glow, and a pathway of rose petals led to a small gazebo draped in sheer, white curtains. The sound of a gentle stream nearby added to the enchanting atmosphere.
Cyrus made his way to the garden, his heart pounding with a mix of excitement and nervousness. Theo, walked beside him, offering silent support. They exchanged a brief nod before Theo slipped away, leaving Cyrus to await Agnes's arrival.
Cyrus had informed Eunice, Adrianna, and a few other ladies of his decision. So the ladies had deceived Agnes there was going to be a tea in one of the palace gardens. Only for those with high class. Eunice had told Agnes that she was only heading the other slaves in preparing.
Minutes felt like hours, but finally, Agnes approached. With her long, flowing hair and eyes that sparkled with curiosity, she looked more beautiful than ever. She wore a simple, elegant dress that accentuated her natural grace. As she reached the gazebo, Cyrus took her hands in his.
She looked genuinely confused and then at Theo. "Where are the ladies? There's meant to me a tea?"
Taking a deep breath, Cyrus dropped to one knee, pulling out a small, velvet box from his pocket. Inside, nestled against the fabric, was a delicate ring, adorned with a shimmering gem that caught the light beautifully.
"Agnes, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?" he asked, his voice filled with emotion.
Her expression of shock was indescribable.
She nodded, tears spilling over her cheeks. "Yes, Cyrus, yes!"
Cyrus slipped the ring onto her finger and stood, pulling her into an embrace. The world seemed to fade away as they held each other, lost in the moment.

The days following the proposal were a whirlwind of excitement and planning. The entire palace was abuzz with preparations for the wedding. It felt surreal, like a dream that Agnes was afraid to wake from.
Agnes spent hours with the palace seamstress, choosing fabrics and designs for her wedding dress. The seamstress, a kind woman with nimble fingers and a keen eye for detail guided her through the process with patience and expertise. Together, they created a gown that was both elegant and timeless, with intricate lace detailing and a flowing train that made Agnes feel like a queen.
Meanwhile, Cyrus coordinated with the palace staff, ensuring that every aspect of the wedding would be perfect. From the menu to the decorations, no detail was overlooked. He wanted everything to reflect their love and the joy of their union.
The garden, where Cyrus had proposed, would also serve as the venue for the wedding ceremony. It was being transformed into a fairytale setting, with arches of flowers and twinkling lights creating a magical ambiance. The palace florists worked tirelessly, selecting the finest blooms to adorn the space.
As Cyrus right handman, Theo had the responsibility of ensuring that everything went smoothly. The palace staff looked to him for guidance, and he worked closely with Cyrus to coordinate the various elements of the wedding. It was a monumental task, but one that he took on with pride and dedication.
Theo oversaw the preparations for the feast, working with the palace chefs to create a menu that would delight the guests. They selected the finest ingredients, crafting dishes that were both delicious and visually stunning. The wine cellar was stocked with the best vintages, and musicians were arranged to provide entertainment throughout the evening.
Security was another crucial aspect of the preparations. Given the ongoing conflict that has just happened with the southern pack, vigilance was necessary. Theo coordinated with the warriors, ensuring that the palace would be well-guarded on the day of the wedding.
As the wedding day approached, Cyrus found himself reflecting on the journey that had brought them to this point. The battles they had fought, the challenges they had overcome, all seemed distant now. What mattered most was the love he felt for Agnes and the future they would build together.
Standing in his study, Cyrus gazed out the window at the bustling palace grounds. The sun was beginning to set, casting a warm glow over the landscape. There was a knock on the door, and Theo entered, a smile on his face.
"Everything is coming together," Theo said, his voice filled with satisfaction. "The preparations are nearly complete."
"Thank you, Theo," Cyrus replied, gratitude evident in his tone. "I couldn't have done this without you."
Theo shrugged modestly. "It's my duty, Cyrus. And besides, it's an honor to help you and Agnes."
Cyrus nodded, feeling a surge of emotion. "She means everything to me, Theo. I want this day to be perfect."
"It will be," Theo assured him. "We've taken care of every detail. All that's left is for you to enjoy it.
"And Theo, how about you?" Cyrus said with a teasing smile. "You do not seem to have any lady in your life."
"Oh, that is not necessary," Theo chuckled nervously. "I shall see you later, I do have something important to attend to."
"You won't avoid this topic next time," Cyrus grinned.
As Theo left, Cyrus turned his attention back to the window. The sky was now painted in hues of orange and pink, a beautiful canvas that mirrored his own feelings. He took a deep breath and blessed the day he had decided to get a human slave.
The night before the wedding, Agnes sat in her room, surrounded by the dress and accessories that would adorn her the next day. The palace seamstress had outdone herself, and the gown was a masterpiece. Agnes ran her fingers over the delicate lace, imagining how it would feel to walk down the aisle and see Cyrus waiting for her.
There was a soft knock on the door, and Eunice entered, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "How are you feeling, Agnes?" she asked, sitting beside her.
"Nervous," Agnes admitted with a laugh. "But also incredibly happy."
Eunice smiled, taking her hand. "Tomorrow will be a day to remember. You and Cyrus deserve all the happiness in the world."
